The govt exists to provide first and foremost for the common defense, therefore, defense spending (especially in a time of more and more wars and more and more threats/global instability) has to be the #1 priority (besides, DoD dollars go back into the US to fuel manufacturing in places like....Youngstown. Everything else should be cut equally, and future spending reduced to GDP growth rate not the growth rate of the field (medical 15% for example).

The top budget priority should be to keep Obama out of the U.S.A., when he is away the market goes up, as soon as he opens his fat mouth the market drops. Not only should we work to enhance our energy security and insulate ourselves from the volatility of traditional sources of energy, but we should also be working to commercialize technology breakthroughs to enable these goals. Just as an FYI, the reason the president was in AF1 and VP was in AF2 going to the same place is because they both cannot be on the same plane! It's that simple. Just like the CEO and President of companies don't fly together. If one of the plane goes down, hijacked, etc the other one needs to be able to step it.
