  • He made those cleans look like balloons on the end of a broomstick...

  • 275 cleans.... Looks like he was just playing with the weight... Impressive job!!

  • Wow very impressive

  • This is fucking awesome.

  • Range of motion is important because it establishes a standard. Just as you have a standards in any sport. In American football, for example, there's a goal line which is used to determine the legitimacy of a goal attempt. "Close enough" or, "still impressive either way" do not suffice when scoring and records are at hand.

  • If someone claims to have beaten the world-record time for running a marathon but only ran 26.05 miles, the claim is still invalid regardless of whether or not the runner did something extra-challenging during the attempt, such as wear a weighted vest. The standard was set and not met, therefore the claim is invalid.

Regardless, David is obviously a very strong athlete. And for being 44 years old at the time, this is very impressive, just not worthy of claiming a "World CrossFit Record."

  • I crossfit... and I had to pick my jaw up. You just MANHANDLED those cleans... My hat goes off to you sir.

  • OLYMPIC LIFTERS are by far the most explosive and supreme athletes on the planet. Do the research and you will see. Crossfit is great for general conditioning and exercise, but for some reason lots of dick heads do it! They only reason most athletes accept it is due to all the hot chicks!!!

  • not saying that this isnt beast but all oly lifters that give shit to cfers about ROM and not doing everything perfectly.. this is an olympic caliber athlete that is not doing both simply because he is trying to get the fastest time possible....

  • This workout was set by crossfit and David tried it and did well. 9 cleans, @275 3 dl @ 500 + other stuff in 2 mins requires all round fitness. This was posted over 2 years ago and nobody has shown us how to do it. Less negative comments and more action. The guy is 47 give him a break

  • thats unbelievable how hes playing with 125kg

  • And that's what's going to happend to all crossfit competetions when olympic weightlifter is going to show up

  • @m5p944 hahahaha until they find out they cant keep up with any cardio....

  • @MrSupasexi olympic weightlifter is definition of cardio. And this vid is proof

  • @m5p944 lmao i didnt see one bit of cardio in here, this was ALL weights. matter of fact i have an ex-powerflifter who does crossfit now coming over to eat as we speak, ill make sure to ask him ;)

  • @MrSupasexi if you didn't see one bit of cardio than you're a bigger idiot than I even hoped for

  • @m5p944 ok well yeah obviously theres some cardio here, all cardio is is making your heart work. so with that being said simply walking down the street is cardio. but what i meant was theres no real cardio thats pushing his cardiovascular endurance like running or jumpropes. this workout is so freakin biased, its like giving a marathon runner an all running workout. show me this guy doing a diverse workout and ill be impressed then

  • good job on the oly lifts super strong but your handstand arnt fully extended at the top and your muscle ups are terrible still a beast

  • Wow realize this dude is 44. He's killing 99.9999% of other 40+ year olds in the WORLD, CRAIG!

  • @greatcornerback this guy is the truth.. TOP FLIGHT SECURITY! this ain't no game!

  • do it right atleast

  • oh my god he did a workout in his area of expertise. lets see him do some double unders or burpees and then we'll talk. but hey everybody talks shit about crossfit before they actually try it and find out its no joke, i did and the most in shape people at my gym did too before they tried it. dont knock it till you try it folks ;)

  • @MrSupasexi Ah so your area of expertise is double under and bur pees. We would all love to win a Olympic gold medal for that. Oh wait that's not a sport.

  • @Bboytraxx no i dont have an area of expertise in anything, thats my point im making. you give an olympic lifter a workout with all olympic lifts which is what he only trains in? of course hes gonna do good in that, give him a workout in an area he doesnt train in and see how good he does. my point was hes not a well rounded athlete hes just strong and this workout was biased in his favor

  • @MrSupasexi Same rules apply when you put a cross fitter out of their element. Send a cross fitter to a marathon/triathlon, power lifting/weightlifting meet or Bodybuilding show. Chances are they wont place. Cross fit doesn't make you a supreme athlete in all domains, Cross fit makes you supreme athlete at Cross fit.

  • @Bboytraxx yeah you wont place at the very top with the best athletes in their specific area, thats the point i keep trying to make. we dont claim to be the best at everything but we are above average in EVERYTHING. unlike a powerlifter who can only lift, a runner who can only run, a crossfitter can do all of that better than the average person. so sure if you want to limit yourself to one thing thats fine by me but id rather train in several areas

  • amazing

  • Well seeing as how this is only a 30 rep workout, and half of it is his specialty, this of course makes sense. I would like to see him do "Murph" which is 2 miles and 600 repetitions and see how much he beasts it. This is very impressive, but it's sort of like a runningback competing in a track meet.

  • @draperlabor Haha holy shit you're actually trying to belittle the fact that this guy RUINED what is supposed to be one of the hardest workouts. Fucking pathetic. Give the man some credit. Nobody's saying Crossfit isn't an effective training method for getting, well, fitter, but this kind of goes a long way towards disproving a lot of the more outlandish claims about the discipline. It is not the ultimate workout.

  • @trebek321 I eagerly await the video of you replicating his workout.

  • NO REP!

  • Bet you could knock a minute off your time if you grow back that moustache.

  • I see a lot of people commenting on form and ROM. I crossfit when getting ready for competitions that require me to have good cardio. So to me as long as I'm doing the workout with good form regardless of ROM its serving its prupose to me if my cardio and endurance is improved. Just like in bodybuilding i.e. sometimes full range of motion in bench doesnt get the best results as say stopping 2in from the chest and not locking out to get a bigger chest its not powerlifting but it gets results

  • i think these crossfitters are right, hes not doing "crossfit form", in other words, David Morgan has to kip and bend his back towards spinal paralysis before it is deemed crossfit

  • @swingkingzz lol

  • This is pretty good work but would not count as a record. Almost none of his lifts would count in any competition because he did not completely stand up on any of them. On his handstand push ups he never locks out his arms and the muscle ups must start from the dead hang position to count. He is an amazing athlete and almost certainly could finish the workout properly but he would be dramatically slower.

  • @mevenson i've probably seen more than 10 crossfit videos where crossfitters don't even lock out let alone "stand up" in any lifts, i hope your comment was in jest because it made me laugh for a good 5 minutes

  • @swingkingzz because others do it wrong doesn't make this right.

  • @mevenson im sure an olympic lifter knows what hes doing, its this type of ignorance is why people don't take crossfitters seriously

  • @swingkingzz I'm not saying his form is bad, it's a lot better than mine and he's enormously strong. What I'm saying is that he is not completing the lifts before dropping the weight, particularly on his cleans, his knees still have ~ 20-25 degrees on bend in them when he drops the weight.

  • @mevenson Its because if you lockout your knees you fuck them up. This is why so many crossfitters get injured. Yeah I admit he doesnt got as far as he can, but his already lifting much heavier than you are supposed to in the challenge and he does it quite easily (no straps no chalk)

  • @Il0veToFU You're really reaching now. First of all, I reject your assertion that crossfitters get injured any more frequently than others. It's certainly not been my experience. There isn't any WL organization in the world that would green light these lifts in a competitive setting. Since all other WL disciplines require lock out, they must be equally prone to injury. BTW he is using chalk.

  • @mevenson you're actually criticizing dave morgan?

  • @MultiTrollHunter Not really, he does really well here; it's just that the reduced ROM he uses, especially on the muscle ups and cleans, really speeds things up. If you want to call this a record then you need to use a full ROM. It's sort of like running 1500m in 3:59 and then claiming to be a sub 4 minute miler.

  • @mevenson to be honest what does holding a crossfit "record" even mean? Nothing. This guy has been to the olympic games and won five commonwealth gold medals. He couldn't give less of a shit about some crossfit fag bitching about his ROM. Did you not see that 200kg clean and jerk clip? How was the ROM in that? Loser.

  • @MultiTrollHunter Lovely, mature dialog. I feel like i'm back in kindergarten. In that spirit, it takes one to know one, Nah, nah, nah.

ROM in old clip was perfect or he wouldn't have gotten three white lights, which was my point.

  • @mevenson What exactly is your point? That he didn't do this shitty crossfit workout to your standards? Well boo hoo.

  • You want to know what this video taught me?

Become an oly lifter and learn proper form, that way, you'll be able to kick the shit out of "elite" crossfit "athletes" all the way into your forties.

  • lol at every crossfit guy complaining about form

  • The guys awesome, but partial movements on evrythg but clns dont fly in timed events

  • Comment removed

  • i like how his elbows don't lock out on his HSPUs, nor do his knees lock out on the cleans

  • @roberthull87 I like how this guy shits all over your pathetic cult.

  • @Jallandhara I'd like to assume you know what you're talking about, but your video uploads consist of video games so I'm going to say no.

  • Those 'muscle-ups' blew up my mind.

  • Crossfit makes me lol. what a joke

  • DUDE IS A BEAST

  • Lol at the crossfit people on here critiquing an OLYMPIC athlete's form. You guys can't even do proper pull-ups, let alone proper form on any lifts. Cry more

  • @wylde678 Can you honestly say any of those reps have full range of motion? I would and do expect more from an OLYMPIC athlete and his form.

  • @tvanorny he's just screwing around and is better than all your precious crossfit "athletes" boo hoo.

  • lol crossfit

  • @wylde678 aaaannnnd 60 likes :)

  • How the fuck do you half-rep a 500lb deadlift. This guy locks it out fine. His clean form is better than anything I've seen any online cross-fit 'athlete' do, and at triple the weight.

  • Casual 500lb deadlift.

  • SMDH at all the haters. His strength was awesome! He absolutely manhandled the deadlift and the cleans; he made that weight look light. I've never seen muscleups done that way; I'm pretty certain that he could easily do conventional ones though. I wonder how he would fare in a workout like Fight Gone Bad or Murph.

  • I'm not sure that qualifies as a muscle up. i could be wrong.

  • the difference between a real athlete and crossfitter...

  • @mmamilano the difference between being very good at one thing and being good at everything...

  • @orourke22sv actually, the difference being very good at one thing and average at everything.

    get it?

  • @mmamilano You don't understand a single thing, fatass.

  • @Jallandhara nice try crossfitter. i'm aesthetic as fuck, perfectly proportioned like a greek god. you crossfit therefore you're skinny.

  • @mmamilano im not sure what is the difference? look at the video in the related section called "pro athlete vs crossfitter. who will win?" then tell me what the difference is

  • @MrSupasexi simple really. xfitters are average at best. jack of all trades, master of none.

if a xfitter tries to compare strength against a strength athlete; xfit loses

endurance against an endurance athelte; xfit loses

speed against a sprinter; xfit loses

the only way the xfitter can make him or herself look good is to handicap the the real athlete. if david morgan were to do one of the endurance workout then i'm sure he would lose. which explains that pathetic video you asked me to watch.

  • @mmamilano exactly we're not masters of anything nor claim to be. we're above average in everything. you say xfitter loses to an athlete in their areaof expertise, of course but we'll smoke them in anything thats not what they train in. "real athletes" like this arent well rounded at all. and how was that video pathetic? you said xfitter cant compete with "real" athletes and that was some xfitters beating proffesional athletes so it kind of disproves your point lol

  • @MrSupasexi beating an nfl player in a crossfit workout. how about that crossfitter now go play in the nfl and see how he does?

real athletes compete in a sport, crossfit is not a sport, it's glorified randomized training. congratulations, you crossfitters are the best at crossfit.

  • @mmamilano yeah nfl players train in the same area as crossfitters, muscular, cardiovascular, and respitory endurance. so yeah the xfitter may have not trained in catching a football an running plays but the nfl pros have trained doing similar workouts that xfitters do and they got smoked. and yeah its not a sport but we do exercises from several different types of sports, good argument lmao

  • @MrSupasexi again, i'd just like to congratulate you on being the best at exercising.

  • he doesnt lock anything out. and why does everyone talk shit about crossfit? id love to see any of you guys who can "own" us come in my box and do a WOD.

  • poor range of motion for the mosto of the reps......

  • basically it's like this: if david morgan wanted to enter the masters division of the cf games, he would destroy everyone and everything. any questions?

  • Insane power on those cleans by the way.

  • Awesome, I love when non crossfitters post videos of themselves doing crossfit. Post a video of grace (30 pwr clean and jerk @ 60 kg) and isabel (30 pwr snatches @ 60 kg) I bet you would own at that work out too.

  • @kpoff5128 there is a video of an american weightlifter (i foget his name) doing grace which you may like- blasts it

  • outstanding But when I see Josh Evertet Or Rob O do a sqaut clean they go all the way down and all the way up and complete the movement. If this was a real event he would be Dq'd for lack of hip extension at the top of the Squat clean !

Now the Squat clean is what this man does right! so he should have better form than a crossfitter but does not

  • lol @ squat clean when he can easily power clean that

  • Let's be honest here,i saw a clip of the crossfit games and one of the top guy's max deadlift was announced to be 230kg...and Morgan is repping it,with a 125 power clean (which most guys will never do).ok he cheats with the muscle ups and handstand pushups, but hell its crossfit-you all do shitty reps lol and no crossfitter will ever hold 440lbs over their head in an olympic games, drugs or no drugs in front of 3 judges trying to bollock you.The End.

  • He did pretty much no full reps...... + his muscle ups are not allowed. I think the rule is that feet much not go higher then the chest

  • @Jaikano It's crossfit. just about everyone does shitty half reps lol

  • @TheBAC4life Yea cos obv you do crossfit and know all about its judging. GTFO n00b

  • @Jaikano crossfit is made of shit quality reps. and none of them are strong. They cannot physically outman an olympic athlete in MAXIMAL strength, power or endurance. They would crumble in a heavy squat, not run 100m faster or throw further. and they certainly would not beat an endurance runner or even have a similar VO2max.you're the fucking noob whose sitting there thinking hes an athlete-LOL.Stupid Cunt.

  • @Jaikano You will never be able to beat this phenomenal athlete even if you took steroids and started training like a real athlete...coz you're a weak pussy.Your youtube channel is about fucking paintball and CAD-HAHAHA.you fucking loser sitting there thinking you're hard because you can slate someone you can't face in the gym. You're actually pathetic.Upload a video of you actually beating me at my own game.Til then, you're just a stupid cunt

  • @TheBAC4life brb dude is obv weak cos he has paintball and "CAD" (btw its not CAD its a 3d rendering program that I programmed) videos on his Youtube channel. He might be a phenomenal althlete but he still does half reps. People are always like "crossfitters will never be as strong as this guy" or "they will never be able to run as far as this dude". We don't aim for that, we aim to be good at crossfit, so no you won't see a crossfitter win the olympics or win a triathlon. Its not what we do.

  • @Jaikano sorry what do you squat (to IPF depth),bench press (IPF rules),deadlift (no hitching),snatch and Clean&Jerk,50m sprint time (electronically timed)?any joe blogg can squat 60kg for reps,do push ups and kipping pullups and snatch 30kg. No-One cares. You can't physically beat a strength or endurance athlete maximally. People always say 'crossfitters will never be'-And For Good Reason.haha yeah u aim to 'feel the burn'.Crossfit isnt in the olympics because you're all glorified pussies.

  • Great video, would me more impressive with full ROM.

  • @speedyejl Unlike the 20% slop most crossiftters run with.

  • Awesome.

  • this 125kg clean looked amazing!

  • does crossfitters ever bench press? not a single bench is seen on a crossfit gym

  • Clock still running. Not one of those counted. It's like benching and stopping 4 inches from actually touching your chest. Not one single lockout. Not even on the deadlifts. Good for him for being strong though, but I think he missed the point.

  • @zachshaw1 As the crossfit standard generally allows for 20% slop, I'd say he did better than any crossfitter.

  • Why does he look actually older in 1988?

  • wait, crossfitters are criticizing his technique? ROFL oh the irony

  • wait a sec, i thought crossfitters were elite athletes that combined and excel at all aspects of 'fitness.' a specialist, let say like an olympic athlete, isn't supposed to destroy a WOD record, correct?

    lulzzzzzzzz

  • wow amazing the maturity levels of the people who hate on CrossFit behind their computer screens but any way that man is strong and made the cleans look super easy but the only full ROM he had was on the MU but i think it would have only had 20-30 seconds onto the workout at full ROM

  • I'm a crossfitter and this guy inspires me. Straight beast. Yes, some crossfitters are tools, but I know plenty of tools who don't do crossfit at the gym. Come on guys, can't we all get along? Oh yeah happy 4th. America! Fuck Yeah!

  • The 3 people who dislike this awesome video are clearly koolaid-drinking crossshitters. What's the matter with you 3? Can't accept the fact that you homos are not that 'elite?'

  • I am a crossfitter, been going about 6 months now, I mean regardless of some of his ROM (the muscle ups seemed a little weird to me), you can't deny the kind of power this guy has. At 44 years old he was straight man-handling the 275lbs on the squat clean...of course it helps to be an ex olympian but still raw power...oh also sick 'stache, need to bring that one back

  • Any guys here open a crossfit gym?? I'm in the process of doing so and I would love some feedback

  • No doubt he smoked that. But both sides can gain from this. If Cf spent more time specializing in the Oly lifts it will no doubt increase the efficiency of every WOD. I'm sure David wouldn't have faired as well on another challenge. King Kong def fairs an Oly lifter a little more so cause they r quite used to the movements. Crossfit is great cause it has generated much interest in the weightlifting so for that kudos!

  • That was amazing. Obviously DM has slight differences in technique due to his backround. AMAZING PERFORMANCE AND STRENGTH none the less.

I am a CF trainer and for everyone fighting on here about "CF will never produce this level of talent," or "this recognized elite athlete could smoke that crossfitter, or that CF workout..." thanks. For you to associate performance of a recognized elite athlete against us is a compliment. It means you recognize the desire we have to TRY to be that good.

  • We may never actually be that good, but we sure will work our butts off to get as far as we can. I can say that a lot of stupid people go "do crossfit" at 24hr fitness and leave with a slipped disk because they have no idea what they are doing. I have a hard time believing anyone really thinks that CF, when executed correctly, doesn't provide superior conditioning to, say, the chest/tri, back/bi, legs/shoulders MWF split followed by 30 mins on an elliptical while reading a magazine.

  • Of course the crossfitters come out and berate his form. He was cleaning 275 instead of 250... and 500lbs for deadlift... He absolutely destroyed the workout... How can you judge someone who was in the olympics?

  • @BeepimajeepBeep How can YOU judge someone you don't know personally?

  • @CxOxLxE How can YOU judge me for saying I don't know him personally.

They don't let crossfitters in the olympics, sorry.

  • @BeepimajeepBeep i was talking about people you were talking about the the OL and because they don't train for the Olympics, why would they want to enter? When they have their own Olympics called the CrossFit Games and a lot of ex OL,Powerlifters,Body builders, pro athletes come train CrossFit after they finish or get bored with what they were doing before. May i ask what kind of training background/sports background you have, big shot?

  • @CxOxLxE i big wall climb mostly. I personally don't find doing a million exercises for time very fun. Can you name a couple of pro athletes who do crossfit (with proof). Lets not turn this argument into a bashing argument. Lets just debate in a cool calm manner.

  • @BeepimajeepBeep sorry not used to people on here being calm and yes rob orlando used to be a big time powerlifter, on the crossfitHQ youtube channel they have a football player from the Broncos that is doing CFT 2 days a week and he brought a teammate too, can't do the research right now but next comment i'll have some more.

  • @BeepimajeepBeep

Kristan Clever is a crossfitter and she has competed in and won several weightlifting competitions. Granted they were not as prestigious a stage as the Olympics but still impressive.

  • @KillingTime6 Never heard of her, therefore she isn't "elite" as the crossfitters say.

  • He smoked those cleans like it was a PIECE. OF. P!SH.

  • Awsome vid im not sure why theres so many weightlifters and crossfitters at each others necks though yes some of the reps wern't at full lock out but who cares im sure if he wanted to lock out he easily could and real crossfitters are quite the oppsite of pussies mainly because real crossfitters know what crossfit really is its a test that every day you can stronger and fitter and live a better life. Ps to the trolls who just post for no reason try crossfit or olympic weightifting then talk fags

  • Anyone of you internet strongmen who are saying his form was bad or his muscle ups wouldn't of counted are 100% retarded. He just killed that workout with more weight than most of you out there could ever fathom! FACT. Good work bro. Very Impressive.

  • This is awesome. His form is incredible and so fluid and effortless, truly amazing. Thanks for the video.

  • Dudes a great athete all hats off to him. If he would have been at a Crossfit games, those muscle up attempts wouldn't have counted. FACT.

  • To those who criticize his ROM- he is a 44 year old Olympian who spent over half his life Olympic lifting. The fact that he can still do this workout with that ROM in the video is a feat in itself. To those who point to Derek Morgan and say crossfit is dumb- this man snatched 120kg at 16. He was competing in the Olympics at 19. Comparing him to anyone but top athletes is stupid. David said himself that crossfit is the best program for general fitness and plans on doing more WODs in the future.

  • From the crossfit community to all... Morgan did stomp this work out no doubt.... probably could have done it faster... But really cause an Olympic athlete can crush a crossfit WOD this makes all crossfitters "pussies" and "faggots" and people who are not going any where in the elite levels of athletics? I think you're all sadly mistaken. Anyhow... sad to see all the bashing here... Good health to all. Dave thanks for the video... awesome job!

  • Amazing. I've been doing Crossfit for a little less then a year and I must give respect. I feel he could've gone even faster if didn't use such a big Kip on the Muscle Ups. I think he can probably do 1:55. Incredible!

  • Ok.

    1. He did a really good job- he manhandled the cleans like it was nothing.

    2. His form was good.

    3. I feel some angry crossfitters have been giving crossfit a bad name on here, if they were true crossfitters and committed to good all round training, they would appreciate and applaud a good job when they saw one.

    4. I'd like to see anyone on this page even move 500lbs.

    Good job.

  • this guy did really good. no need to nit pick at his ROM. his muscle ups are different but not bad. good job dave morgon

  • I am happy to have just been alerted to David Morgan. I live in the US and am not familiar with all of the greats of Weightlifting. His vehicle alone validates his existence.

  • Nice lifting, very good,

Crossfit roflol, never seen such lost ppl, flopping around like fish outta water, I hope that they know a IFBB fitness babe is stronger and has more endurance than them. its just sad.

  • Can't imagine what any olympic champ in weightlifting gonna make this crosffit fags look like. It's got to be hilarious. I'll be laughing whole weekend. The level of conditioning oly weiglifter poses is beyond crosffiter understanding. Just look at this ex oly weightlifter. He just smoke you all at 44. Fucking hilarious.

  • @m5p944 try doing jingle jangles, and try to say crossfit isnt hard

  • insane !!

  • the clean looks like the bar is empty the way he throws it around.. super strength!!!

  • the 3 people who disliked this probably do dumbell curls @ a regular "fitness" gym

  • @boblafro

He would of lost like 5 seconds off his time.. man you crossfitters are embarrassing.

  • David Morgan = Olympian

Crossfit will never produce an Olympian.

    Bottom line.

  • @capscave that's because to be in the olympics, you have to train sport-specific. the entire concept of crossfit is that you train everything and do NOT train sport-specific. so of course crossfit won't produce an olympian because that's not what they're trying to do.

  • @capscave thats not the goal you fucktard.. Its for everyday people to get into the best possible shape.

  • Don't you agree training with proper technique and with proper rest between exercises (as I guess you were doing when you were weightlifter) is better? Regarding safety (you don't clean or deadlift exhausted after other exercises, hence the better technique and rested muscles which is safer ), improvement (crossfit isn't neither explosive-2minute workout is far from explosive, neither fast-same reason),...what do you want to achieve?better muscular endurance?I think you were better off before.

  • All of this hate on David Morgan stems from one issue: The Crossfit protocol is seriously flawed and DM didn't play by their rules. Who gives a shit? With Crossfit's rules, we can all expect to see no pure Crossfitters in any Olympic events, any professional teams. With the exception of professional mixed martial arts, which is such a green sport that an established proven training system has not been implemented, I would bet all my money that Crossfit will not produce "elite fitness" outside

  • @fknclarky the confines of Fran and King Kong and the Crossfit games. Sure maybe DM didn't play by the rules much like I wouldn't play by my little cousin's kickball's rules. Because outside of the little pond, it's pointless.

  • i lol at crossfitters who diss David Morgan. he has class, strength, and he is an outstanding athlete. great performance. i'd LOVE to see all the critics have to perform this exact workout right after DM did it so everyone can see how pussy they are.

  • If you enjoy watching elite level Olympic Lifting and would like to see what David Morgan was up against in his 82.5kg/181.5lb weight class in the 1980's, check out Urik Vardanian's 405KG championship total on You Tube. In one event, Urik lifts a world record 401.5lb/182.5kg snatch, a world record 493lb/224kg C&J, and then an astounding 506lb/230kg clean. Urik remains the only person to win the Olympics totalling more than the gold medal winner in not one but two weight classes above him.

  • Basically, a former olympic weightlifter destroyed casually what your top crossfitters ca do haha Goes to show how crossfit is nothing but training to be mediocre (at best) in everything. I have owned several crossfitters in the past, I actually get an erection everytime I own one, and the crossfit chicks notice it. Mmmm, Crossfit chicks.

  • @Rogelio22 so you can lift heavier then crossfit chicks? good for you

  • @Rogelio22 haha nice

  • @Rogelio22 i crossfit, but that's hilarious. diss taken, well fact too, they are like the jack of all trades, master of none. it's definitely a good middle ground

  • @Rogelio22 wow what is the deal with bashing CrossFit........you sound like a meat head......go back to grade school and stop bullying the kids on the playground.........someone should have shown you along time ago that being rude doesn't solve anything..............grow up...........by the way DM BAD ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I give huge props to anyone that is that dedicated to physical fitness..............

  • @Rogelio22 Okay, not hating on this guy, now make him do filthy fifty, let's see how he does

  • @Rogelio22 crossfit never claims to be best at everything. the saying is you will be in the top 20% of whatever you do. and just because a couple people blow through a workout doesnt mean that everybody does it. theres a vid on here of two amatuers owning two professional nfl players. theres always an exception to the rule. also id be interested to see what workout you did AND the people you went up against.

  • @MrSupasexi two amateurs owning two nfl players at fucking crossfit

put pads on them and the nfl players will run up and down the field on them

  • @panathinakosbear probably cause after all they are proffesional football players... the point i was trying to make was that OVERALL crossfit people are in the best shape. of course if you have them do a workout that favors what the other person does theyre going to get smoked, but if you give them a workout that has a bunch of everything chances are they wont do so hot.

  • @Rogelio22 also i just thought of the fact that this workout is in favor of his area of expertise. have him do a heavy cardio workout with lots of running and rowing and lets see him "casually destroy" that workout...

  • I utilize crossfit in my training regimen. It does harp on proper form and range of motion for competition. But remember he's a competitive Olympic Power Lifter. It would be foolish to say he's a cheater. If his ROM for crossfit standards was a bit of, so be it. But realistically he manipulated the weight easily and would probably destroy many if not all of the crossfitters talking smack about him on this board. Not bad for a man in his forties.

  • @gogofam

I haven't read all the comments, so I might not address a few of the points...

    1. DM shows great strength in this video.

    2. DM chose a workout from a context with well-defined standards (e.g. ROM)

    3. DM is not a cheater, but this workout cannot be compared to, say, Josh Everett's.

    4. We can speculate about what DM "could/would do" with more standardized ROM, but I guess that's where everyone starts disagreeing. I know I can't do ANY of these movements, so it's all just talk!

  • I was excited to watch this and compare my time to his..... He was unsuccessful to complete any of these exercises. YES ROM is a valid point, Olympic lifters know this more than anyone. I got a good laugh out of this.

  • @rantjwj I agree his DL never came close to locking out on any of the lifts, his squat cleans were half assed, his second muscle up on all three rounds never came close and his hand stand push ups were... no existent

  • @rantjwj Yes, but your deadlift was lighter than his squat clean, so your argument is invalid.

  • Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

  • @boblafro hes 44, and hes been an o lifter for over 20 years. and the lack of lockout could have something to do with him having blown an elbow

  • I do crossfit and I'm the first to say this is beyond impressive. I wont do anything near this; can't even DL that weight.

Its a misrepresentation to say he "blasted the workout". 2 events cater to a strong person (DL/Clean). 2 cater to a smaller guy (MU/HSPU). His MuscleUps aside (never seen that before.. interesting.); if you look at the Josh Everett vid, the crowd is telling him "all the way down - all the way up". This guy "cheated" when he didn't have an advantage.

    Still impressive.

  • Are those muscle ups legal. Im not hating but Josh Everett did his muscle ups different a friend of mine said that Davids were partial "skin the cats".

  • His time should be automatically disqualified from Crossfit records because the had the audacity to keep his shirt on.

  • @karl1569 THANK YOU!

I wondered if I was the only person who found it odd that every CrossFitter (except, apparently, Josh Everett) strips to the legal minimum of clothing to exercise. Don't tell me it helps performance. And CrossFit claims to emphasize mental toughness, so shouldn't athletes "push themselves" by wearing a t-shirt??

    Rant over.

  • wow, amazing at that bodyweight and age!

  • As a 5 year Crossfit veteran, I love this video and David Morgan, you're a top man and a superb athlete.

The fact that this video was posted on the Crossfit main website demonstrates how your efforts were appreciated by the Crossfit HQ and it's founders.

  • Just had to check out the Everett vid due to all the Crossfit people on here going on about technique. Everett is supposed to be a top guy in the world of crossfit right? Well, his cleans leave a lot to be desired. You could even question his ROM. I personally think Morgan is an awesome athlete and should be praised for his efforts in this video.

  • haha, lovin' the car, Dave!
