Hi Everyone!

Does anybody know what is the main difference between the two well known sytema styles?! The style of Kadochnikov and the style of Ryabko.

I know that SYSTEMA is one complex martial art...but while watching the videos I clearly can see that there is a sharp difference between the two styles...

Could anyone give the right definitions for the styles?!

@MrCrossover999 I have been studying Systema for about a year now so I will try to answer your question. I am not 100% sure but I believe the main difference is in how it is taught. The Ryabko System teaches movement, breathing, relaxation and the like first. This builds up your body and gives the you the basic foundations that you can add techniques ontop of. I think the Kadochinkov System is very techniques orientated in the begining. I am not overly sure but its mainly in the way its taught.

@MrCrossover999 But thats alright because there is no set style or kata in the System. Everyone's Systema is different and developed through their own experiences, lessons and development. No one is supposed to copy anyone except for the application of the core principles of breath, movement and relaxation. Other than this you experiment and find the best way to do things. Often advanced practitioners will look similar becuase through their learning process they have come to the same conclusions

@ginjaninja1988 I knew that both style are very effective...My opinion is that Ryabko sytema concentrates on punches and kicks built in tricky movements to destroy the opponent with force...so physical strength is more important, but Kadochnikov system is balance oriented and uses twists, jerks and other stuff to make the opponenet loose his balance.....because of this I prefer sytema K., systema Ryabko can be the deadliest if one can learn the way of punching and kicking Ryabko syle :)

I only hope that one day there will be systema lessons nearby in the future, because this is the style I was looking for...I know Karate and Krav Maga...but after reading about the work of Kadochnikov and Ryabko I must give it a try...but there is nobody to teach me...

@MrCrossover999 When our group started here in New Zealand we were so isolated from the rest of the world. Our group was started by 2 guys who just trained together and after 3 years of hard work and a visit to Vlad's school in Canada the guy who started it down here in now an instructor. Just grab a friend who is interested and start training, reading books and watching the DVDs. You can start to learn like that; and save up for trips to seminars. There should quite a few around Europe.
