@vorturus uh Jarzombeks theory is amazing, i practice it, its not that hard to understand though. Its just chords made through symmetrical use of the circle of fifths, played in any time signature forward and back with out skipping notes. If i could understand it than Waggoner can understand it( juliard) . Pauls riffs are more technical and his note choice is arguably better

Paul Waggoneer is the greatest guitarist in a metal band ever!! I put him past Jarzombek, Friedman and Petrucci. His solos are always so perfect but extremely unorthadox to play. And his riffs are the best. Ive been studying his technique and his note choice always floors me. Dusty kicks ass toobas does thus whole band, BTBAM forever

The man INVENTED a new musical theory (the circle of 12 tones) and I could count on one hand the number of metal guitarists who would be able to understand it; Waggoner is not one of them. Bottom line, Jarzombek would be able to keep up with Waggoner, Waggoner would not be able to keep up with Jarzombek. On an aside, you should also see Tosin Abasi.

@StewieSwan oh, i know they're doing bigger stuff now. i saw them on the Cool Tour a couple nights ago. but my problem is that they are far better than every other band on that tour combined, and they were a sub-headliner to As I Lay Dying. at the House of Blues. IMHO, they belong on a headlining tour with Pink Floyd and Rush, but that won't ever happen (for obvious reasons). it's just wrong. they're larger than life, stadium quality musicians, playing smaller shows than Justin Bieber

@StewieSwan if you listen to everything BTBAM and Rush have done, they are really similar. BTBAM's heavier, yeah, but they do have a few ties in both composition and exhibition. And there times when BTBAM just sound like they were writing a Pink Floyd song (ex. Desert of Song: "fear the control tower...")

i'm not saying you have to like PF or Rush, but they're both very talented, and all 3 bands share similarities in musicianship. my point was that BTBAM are too good to be playing small shows.
