  • This video is evidence that aikido does NOT work against multiple opponents. These students, who have presumably been training for years, completely fail against only three people.

  • @siasti Your an idiot. They're not going to do break there arms, they are going to flip, and stay safe. If you met one of these kids on the street, try them then. Tough Guy.

  • @siasti Obvious troll is obvious.

  • @siasti it works vs 3 attackers but not all can use it 100% correctly i tryed vs judokas, kikboxers, karatists and i defended my self greatly.

  • @leptiric51 In a real fight, the "3 attackers" would all attack at once, not - very conveniently - one after the other. I know of no aikido technique that would nullify 3 attackers at once. You'd be better to go with strikes or kicks rather than some wrist or arm lock.

  • a great teacher

  • put this guy in a cage and he will tear down the walls.

  • Haha what a joke, put this guy in a cage and see what happens.

  • u want to learn how to fight? do boxing, wrestling (actual not wwe), muay thai, bjj, sambo ect... stay the fuck away from this shit

  • @TheRozza333 That's because the whole point of Aikido is not to fight... It's about disarming your attacker and avoiding a fight.

  • if steven fights pity thugs on the street who are equipped with a knife be sure as hell they wont flip over. they will break their arms

  • Funny all those negative comments. Are you all that insecure about your own style?

  • Funny allotrope

  • 0:13 "Bitch where my money."

  • All of you, just shut the hell up. For those that are Aikido haters:

Learn Aikido for a bit, see what it's like, and come back with a viable argument.

For those of you that are Aikido lovers:

You're awesome. Keep up the good work.

  • i saw all these moves on WWE last night , except they looked real in the WWE show

  • @hogmedic dude WWE is fakeeeee

  • I think the first part at least looks like hoax, because the people seems to dive (3 and 4 against Seagal). But the knives part is very good alright... Go hair !!

  • This video is fantastic to watch. The man the master the best of the best. I would love to be able to do things like him. But a last I feel that I am to old at 67years old. If I had my time over again I would certainly train myself to Steven Seagal's methods. Now I get great pleasure in watching his videos of martial arts. His singing and his gift as a musician as well. I would love to meet him I person before I die. I love is films as soon as they are released I will buy them. They are worth w

  • Maybe if you could read better than a 4th grader you would have realize I was talking about Steven Segal NOT the art of Aikido. Dumbass.

Show me ONE tournament fight with Mr. Segal. ....I rest my case.

  • Can't watch a martial arts video without 500 morons arguing about how ineffective that particular fighting style is. You wannabe fighters are all the same.. Ignorant and arrogant.

  • Why in every "master" video, seagal fights with kid sized japan guys instead of much heavier white or black males like in his films

  • @teenydriller those are kids from his dojo dude -___- you expect him to select big fat guys? and the reason why everybody seems tiny next to him is becuase hes large and 6'4 tall.

  • Look at him tossing paper balls around lol

  • I've seen real Aikido in action. Steven Seagal is a joke!!!. You can not flip a person in mid-air like that. The arm would snap. Also, how come there are no real tournament fights of him. It's always staged ballet with the same partner for past 20 years. He's just a showman.

  • @Jraax Obviously not. The person is breakfalling to avoid the lock breaking them.

  • @Jraax dumbass, dumbass, dumbass. They break the fall so they dont get hurt.Aikido is a self-defense art and it's creator believed that you should solve conflict without violence and was completely against violence. You are a major cretin.

  • This is aikido broken down...Ok get ready i am gonna attack you

ok im ready to throw you on the ground

  • Who ever thinks aikido is practical is a complete moron

  • @mattyblues101 You're a complete moron by saying this. Go find a dojo and see for yourself

  • @MrZakhar1 no thanks ..i will stick to boxing its actually a practical form of combat..these people cannot last 12 rounds

  • @mattyblues101

First of all, youre the one being impractical. They wouldnt last twelve rounds because real martial artists try not to fight. And a good martial artist has enough extrasensory perception that they can tell when someone has a killing intent about them. They notice the little things. Boxing becomes useless in a street fight when they go for you legs. boxing couldnt help you if your opponent has a mastery range of kicks.

  • @mattyblues101

Boxing is useless when every single time you throw a punch you get thrown to the ground. just saying. . .

  • @insertuberusername I disagree...let me ask you a question..steven seagal is a aikido master right? He is one of the best in aikido that we know of right?..Mike tyson is a master at boxing..honestly, who do you think would win in a fight?

  • The point is this is totally fake. There is no way him or anyone can flip people with such ease. Its impossible. If it was real they would be Aikido fighters with UFC titles. The students are going with it. Look at the video! They are running at him and throwing themselves around. They dont approch him with intention of attacking, they run at him with the intention of been thrown. This is not real martial arts. I do real martial arts: Kickboxing, Wrestling and Jiu Jitsui. This is not real!

  • @itsBlueSlims Some martial artists actually respect their discipline and prefer not to combat sweaty testosterone filled men, for a worthless, exaggerated title. and 0:49, that throw is fake? look at the way the kid jerks thru the air! Kickboxing is slightly ineffective because there is no direct way to neutralize your opponent, youve got to fight til a ko. In a street fight against multiple opponents this you would seriously exhaust yourself, or risk other unnecessary injury due to this limit.

  • @itsBlueSlims watch the whole video. its real. wrestling and BJJ become ineffecive against multiple opponents as well.

  • @insertuberusername "kickboxing is slightly ineffective because there is no direct way to neutralize your opponent"????? are you crazy??? so knocking someone out cold is ineffective?? but throwing someone on the ground is effective? your crazy bro..so mike tyson or steven seagal who wins?? i want to hear this

  • @mattyblues101 I agree with you, whoever said Kickboxing is innefective is an idiot. But Aikido is equally effective, in Aikido its about neutralizing your opponent not hurting them but trust me if someone with Aikido training wanted to hurt you, he could easily break your arms and if he slams you hard enough your ribs.

  • @itsBlueSlims Nice one, so while you're shagging a guy to death, his friends have the opportunity to stab/kick you. You would be a complete retard to think that by studying a select few martial arts, you have self-defence nailed. Bruce Lee's philosophy of 'having no way as the way' would be much more apt for the attitude of a real martial artist. You would also be foolish to assume that being a UFC champion really means anything in terms of street fighting.

  • @Overfiend002 UFC is a disgrace to all Martial Arts, instead of being based on grace, courtesy and respect, it's just a load of roidraged men hugging each other for the delight of a bunch of rednecks

  • this is real practice of Aikido techniques...

  • mint vid :)

  • Segal is quite talented and trained very hard, but I remember when Gene LaBell (spelling?) choked him out. You can't let yourself get too big for your britches.

  • Anyone know the name of the song that starts near the end of the video around 6:07??? I want to get it!!

  • When Mr.Seagal was still a white belter, of course he hasn't achieved yet his speed and professional techniques in aikido! all of us don't have.. until we advance to black belter!

  • The reason these people flip when he does a wrist throw is so wrist is not damaged. If he done any of this to you and you didn't go with force he creating on wrist it probs snap. I've studied aikido and now I study Krav Maga and we do a similar move for knife disarm with wrist and as most people learn the first time you have a cavalier throw done on wrist it hurts like bitch and you slam in to floor if you don't go with it. So haters research before you bitch because you know nothing all you wa

  • 6:35??name 6:39

  • Akido is fake. You touch my wrist and I do a flip? Bullshit.

  • @morningwould LOL I

SO THE FIRST THING YOU LEARN IN ANY MARTIAL ART IS TO FALL DOWN, ROLL..IN ORDER TO NOT GET HURT.

THE DANKER OF AIKIDO IS THAT IT SEEMS HARMLESS.

  • @morningwould BEFORE YOU PRACTISE AIKIBUDO YOU MUST LEARN THIS.

    Mae Kaiten Ukemi

Ushiro Hanten Ukemi Ushiro Kaiten Ukemi Yoko Kaiten Ukemi

    Yoko Hanten Ukemi

    OTHERWISE YOU GO TO HOSPITAL.

  • I honestly don't understand how you're able to learn so many counters and keep them so effective. I'm still a bit skeptical, but it's starting to really prove it's usefullness.

  • Seagal looked so different.

  • Chuck norris who?

  • wth -.-

  • Thats great if you happen to run into a gang that will just run at you like a goup of dumb asses but in the real world people get bum rushed and beat down.

  • American football doesn't make a lot of sense to us non Americans unless one bothers to watch, investigate and have the sport explained and even then I'm sure most of what goes on is missed by my not knowing what to look for.

  • if a bunch of midgets ever chase you down, your gonna wish you knew how to do this.

  • this video is funny as hell

  • chuck norris is fucked

  • @Mr3whiteboys not exactly. differing martial arts between the two. while segal is a master of aikido, norris trained alongside bruce lee and actually developed his own style, chun kuk do. it would truly be a fight deserving of the $50 pay-per-view price though.

  • he wouldnt last one round in a real fight!!!!

  • 1:53 is complete badassery

  • Steven Seagal is no match with me...................... in terms of eating ^_^ joke only

Seriously, this video is very inspiring! However, Steven has not yet show if his art can be use to defeat APNs in my country---the Philippines. APNs are a serious treat to our National Security.

  • Put that against Gracie Jiu Jitsu

Seagal has no knowledge of Ground fighting

  • @soulofthebang Seagal would probably kill a person in an actual fight.

  • @soulofthebang how about WingChun?

  • @soulofthebang and how could you know that? plus why would he take a fight to the ground if it isnt his domain?

  • does nobody see how fake this is? take note of how those guys roll without even being touched. example- 42 second the huy far left.

  • @ppphoto the guy was turning around. Rolls are a common form of movement for the Uke.

  • @ppphoto Yeh they aren't suppose to hurt each other, kinda martial arts really you don't want to hurt anyone physically, you want to learn

  • Yeh they aren't suppose to hurt each other, kinda like martial arts really you don't want to hurt anyone physically, you want to learn

  • @ppphoto You would know the answer of why it seems fake if you had ever practiced Aikido.

  • Truly awesome!!!!!!

  • I can beat him

  • cmon......in a real fight its never gonna be as smooth and easy to defend as that, for me aikido is total and utter shit.

  • WOW! THAT IS JUST... HOW DOES... THE WAY HE... WHAT THE...

  • Seagal is obviously a master of this discipline. I give him mad respect. However... Yup, I don't even have to say it.

  • Any martial art is just as good as the partitioner. The average thug on the street that would attack you would not even stand a chance against any discipline if trained well in it.

  • No doubt he is a master, but lets be honest. In a real fight, he should be disabling his opponents instead of just taking them to the ground. They keep getting back up. If the technique were Krav Maga, they would go down and stay down.

  • @tdclarkson72

This is just demonstration. In real life Im pretty sure Steven and any other Aikido partitioner would break some joints.

  • Steven Seagal is a good martial artist and Aikido is a good style...but lets be real..no one! i mean no one! even Seagal, Bruce Lee or any martial artist in the world is gonna be able to hand 5 or 6 guys...unless youve got some sort of weapon..than you might have a chance..

  • how old was steven in this film?

  • 23 people tried to rob Steven Seagal.

  • The most common negative remark I get about aikido is this:

    You learn no attacks.

Who gives a damn, if you're anything like this guy, nobody will get a punch or kick in before their face is shoved to the ground or against a wall.

    Go Steven Seagal!

  • @ChildNinja21 The best offense is a good defense ;)

  • @ChildNinja21 it's a problem if you want to compete in aggressive competitions, but that's clearly not what Aikido is about, so it's a stupid criticism. But then again, many Aikido practicioners also train in other styles, so it hardly matters

  • Great video!

  • Awesome hair

  • Akido is real master segal trains spider.

  • steven segal is a great fighter

  • I think this is mostly a mental process which he gained through meditation. His mind seems to be optimally controlling his body. Truly amazing

  • What a monster! Seagal has insane balance, speed and the best awareness I've seen of any martial artist. Too be in the moment like he used to be in randori required all of the above and a mind empty of everything but the opponents before him. It takes a LOT of practice to be that fluid and self-aware. Something most martial artists, let alone ordinary people, can only dream of.

  • Sensei Steven Seagal 7mo Dan :D

  • K voice of reason it has nothing to do with his technique it's Aikido the best form of self-defense and basically anyone could learn this martial arts. It's not about punching and kicking. It's all about natural movements and using one's own momentum against them. Doesn,t matter how strong you are and also two hands are always going to be stronger than one. That's the essential part of Aikido is to intercept the attacker while he or she's attacking you. Thankyou and always God bless the good.

  • Being the ukes of the randori is fun. You get to rush and fall.

  • This has got to be the biggest joke I have ever seen.hahaha You could never throw someone through the air that easily.

  • @ajizzlejiujitsudog You're an idiot. If you would refer to the previous comments you would understand why your an idiot. They are not being thrown, they are jumping and rolling theirselves. They have to properly roll or they may break or dislocate something. Normally, the attacker would not be flying through the air like that. They would just get their arm or shoulder broken.

  • @DaRealMaverick hahaha. Aikido is theory. In order for your techniques to work you have to rely on someone reaching out to grab you. How do you expect to catch a fighters wrist who is an elite boxer?

  • @ajizzlejiujitsudog First of all, Aikido is not a theory. It originated during the days of the Samurai, which is why a lot of the techniques require defense against grabbing. The samurai were more vulnerable on the ground. But O-Sensei refined the technique to include defenses against punches and kicks. They don't target the wrist. They target the elbow, then wrist. The wrist is far to fast to catch. The elbow doesn't travel very far or fast and is much easier to control.

  • @DaRealMaverick Do you train full speed at your school? Have you actually seen aikido work well outside of your school?

  • @ajizzlejiujitsudog What school doesn't train at full speed? Besides the intial learning phase of the technique, everything is at full speed. I am in the National Guard and am a Police Officer full time. I have used Aikido in arrests and against insurgents in Iraq. It does work in actual combat. The individual performing it has to be very disciplined when applying it.

  • @DaRealMaverick I would have to agree with Maverick here.

You cannot judge Aikido based off what you are seeing here. Judging Aikido based off this video is like a person coming into an MMA gym and watching the guys shrimping across the floor in a drill. Well of course their first initial thought is going to be "WELL THIS ISN'T FIGHTING, HOW IS THAT GOING TO HELP ME DEFEND MYSELF"

The concept of Aiki is very complex, and you have to pretty much be taught it, to understand it.

  • @DaRealMaverick I noticed that your name includes jiu jitsu. You do realize that Jiu Jitsu, Judo, and Aikido share a common ancestory in Martial Arts. Aikido uses the same joint manipulation as Jiu Jitsu. I'm just saying, because I am a Black Belt in Jiu Jitsu and Kick Boxing. I'm currently a Blue Belt in Aikido and believe me, it does work against actual attacks.

  • LAME ... STEVEN ,,, CAN'T FIGHT FOR SHIT ,,, SHE IS CLOWN

  • Its nice that he said that they could punch and kick, but they aren't. They are just running at him and basically doing nothing.

BTW one of the main objectives of most aikido is to not hurt your oppopnent

  • @4210jj if youd have you wouldn't even know it.

Aikido is distinct style that is fairly difficult to detect to outsiders. Furthermore it depends on where you live, but how many people in your area actually do Aikido? Even with a few, how many of them get into fights? One of the principle aspects of Aikido is to know how to not get into fights in the first place. However, there is was an Aikido instructor here in LA that would take his top students to bars to start fights to test their skills.

  • There is no such thing as a superior Martial Arts. It is never the style, but the individual that is performing the art.

  • This is amazing! Love this video!

  • Aikido is the best martial arts

  • even bruce lee, don't stand a chance against this man

  • holy shit, no wonder silvagave him credit for helping him out

  • I Think Steven is a Black belt 8th Dan.

I Love Martial Arts Tactile,no stupid Socker air in a Ball.

I want to get back to Martial Arts.

In My Dojo, Sorry iam A 6th dan Ju-Jitsu.

We had a guy in a Wheel Chair Black belt 2nd dan.

Some guys say Steven segal was in the FBI.

Hes the only westaner, that has his own Dojo In Japan Profesor Steven Segal.

  • I Think Steven is a Black belt 8th Dan.

  • Aikido training and techniques are more acting than actual martial arts.

  • @soSiccK have you ever tried aikido? I can tell you that it may look like acting because people roll and jump to avoid breaking bones and injuring themselves, in a real fight they'd most likely be out of the fight after 1 move because of broken bones or other injuries.

  • @soSiccK Face an Aikido master and say that again lol, you say that about one martial art you say it about all martial arts.

  • @GeneralArrow sorry but thats bullshit. many traditional martial arts have been proven to be impractical and unrealistic in everyday life. these guys throw themselves around llike stunt men and its got nothing to do with the techniques that a mixed martial artist would easily be able to block or counter with jui jitsu. like when hes throwing guys around with staffs the guys just hold onto the staff and get flipped over whereas realistically you would just let go of the staff.

  • @josephthemighty they aren't getting thrown around, they're jumping around like that themselves to prevent the realistic onslaught of broken bones and joints they'd be receiving if they hadn't.

  • @josephthemighty The very first lessons that are taught in Aikido is the proper falling and tumbling technique. You aren't allowed to practice anything else until you have established that you are able to prevent damage to your body. If you aren't prepared to roll or fall properly you will either dislocate or break something. Jiu Jitsu and Aikido are extremely similar, both utilize joint manipulation and submissions which is why Aikido doesn't require a lot of arm strength.

  • @josephthemighty Yes, he WOULD let go of the staff. But then you have the staff.

  • @josephthemighty You do realize what Mixed Martial Arts is right?

  • @josephthemighty You know that those people have to jump around like stunt men so they won't break all their bones right?

  • he throws them like they are some puppets that he controls,an they are about 150 lbs each,so i dont think so he could do that to a real MMA fighter...

  • @Arrrmando101 MMA is useless against 5 big guys. they teach you that in jale

  • @RoundEyeBooda yeah, thats why these arent big guys .... they are just some actors who throw themselves around...

  • This man is my father :-) ;)

    ;-) :)

  • Ok, so here’s what makes a lot of this stuff show rather than substance. The “assailant” carrying out the attack is also an Aikido student/practitioner, right? So it would seem reasonable that they’d know what sorts of attacks not to do in order to avoid getting twisted, clotheslined, subdued, and thrown around like ragdolls. Yet each and every time, Seagal (or any other Aikedo practitioner) can throw or subdue his assailants with the utmost ease. Aikido is mostly an act.

  • bullshit, you can see the attackers getting ready for the throw

  • @godsnemesis1 compare it to pro wrestling. is pro wrestling fake? im sure you said yes. WRONG its real. ask kevin nash when hes drunk at a bar to see what would happen if he gave you one of his famous finishers. YOU WOULD DIE and he's big enough to do it to you. Aikido is almost the same principle but in a more perceptive reality, it has much more honor. you need to open your eyes to martial arts and what they really are. Aikido is one of the greatest martial-arts on earth, you just don't see it

  • the guy at 3:25 failed Rondori. See you next year.

  • @Americant47 7th degree? COD, but honestly, Aikido is awesome.

  • 21 people were kicked ass by seagal

  • @Tixiel hahaha you mean ass-kicked but still very funny. i believe your version was the funniest, i'm an english teacher so I'm just putting in some extra time. good luck with your english and aikido :)

  • @RoundEyeBooda Do i need to thank you..."teacher"?

  • Akido is how we protect our life from bad ass

    Akido is mean love

dont your guys get wrong ,you just see it but as long as you never stady for real so

bester not brabrabra , it like dog braking the tree lol that all

so try to understand it for real not just see from youtube and brabra ,,,,,get Smart!!!

  • very impressive!

  • those videos are just a part of a choreography...

  • @iSpeedoz or this is what u think...

  • @iSpeedoz So what? They're taking what they learned and putting it to use... there's no point in calling yourself a martial artist if you can't even do any of the moves without practicing.

  • Now that is a martial artist! His timing, unwavering sense of balance, lightning fast technique selection with nothing forced is inspiring to watch - like a *Japanese* Aikikai grandmaster. Yet at the same time he has the speed and awareness of a pre-WW2 hard trained former swordsman aikijujitsu (somewhat like the rarer current Yoshinkan Aikido grandmasters). Goes to show what years of studying karate, kendo, judo and aikido in Japan under the old masters and talent will do for you!

  • @utubesqueeze Very good words fella, Very god do you study ?

  • @utubesqueeze ww2 i don't know i think physics won that one

  • put a bullet in his fat head....

  • @TheJohnny1965

If you wanna hurt him, atleast do it in an uncowardly manner. Guns are for pussy's.

  • @paintman557 put one in yer fat head too....

  • he was a handsome guy. before he became jabba the hutt

  • @jigsaw9919

so before he became an actor then?

  • sucha fuckin worthless martial art id like to see steven seagal fight jon jones see what he does when someone actualy tries to hit him instead of running streight at him flailing their arms waiting to get thrown to the ground

  • @matttatum4 i once thought so, too. until...well, we all have opinions, don't we. :)

    ah, btw, who's 'jon jones'?

  • @Mannheim67 ufc light heavyweight champ....look up a highlight vid and ul see sum real fightin

  • i only got a blue belt in aikido before i quit. but that was enough to know what this man was doing, no efforts at all doing those. and if you think his ukes are acting flipping around. ask a white belt to do a kotegashi or nikkyo on you. you will know why they have to fall instantly

  • I like him and Van Dam but back then he would have taken Van Dam out so fast it's not even funny because he was better and faster with his hands and he did not play around he was more intense more serious and he would try to take you out as fast as possible there would be no you kick then i kick then you kick again he would not toy with you.

  • another myth like bruce lee good acting and set up thats it .just like the doors they were the firehouse of their day you tv alcoholics

  • @Americant47 Steven Seagal is legitimately one of the best living master of Aikido. I only just started at a local dojo, and already I can see skills that not even my sensei is able to replicate and he is a 2nd dan.

  • My dream is to fight with him and defeat him! I don't understand why he decided to do movies instead of continue the fate of a samurai and teached aikido... But it's his life so go on! But i really wish to fight and defeat him. One day i'll do!

  • How the F*** can you disrespect Segal?!?! He is the man.

  • always wanted to take Aikido Classes.

  • @TheShotokanWarrior Do it! I just started and am really enjoying it. And if you have money issues most dojos will give you a cheaper rate.

  • Take one Aikido class, and you will stop being doubtful. There's a reason police and military don't make fun of the fat guy who is showing them techniques.

  • respect seagal..respesct his abilities..respect his skills in guns...

  • RESPECT FOR SEAGAL

  • My husband got the chance to take him on at one of his demonstrations at the dojo where my husband studied... and my husband got his ass handed to him...big time... in less than 30 seconds.
