  • This is such a tragic part of the history of the British Royal Family. I have been moved to tears by the facts of his life before today... A blood cousin of mine had an epileptic fit and choked to death on his eighteenth birthday. I was adopted at birth, so I never knew him. May they both rest in peace.

  • Johnny was buried separate from other members of the family - he is on his own, outside the church. Even in death they hid him......so unfair, so cold and heartless. Typical of those times. Even Joe Kennedy and his family tried to hide their daughter from the public.

  • Cute kid.

  • @LadyMountbatten, what a fabulous tribute to a 'lost prince'.. the picture at 1.15 is so lovely it brought tears to my eyes... And Johhnie had such a lovely smile...

the music is beautifully moving too ... Many thanks for uploading this little snippet of hidden history. Best regards from Wales :0)x

  • Very moving. Lovely work on this tribute to these two long ago yet never forgotten princes. I like to think that Johnny and his big brother Georgie have long since reunited in a better place.

  • Princess Mary looked like she was the oldest so why did Prince Edward become king instead of her?

  • @corky7ca because back then the only way a woman could inherit the throne is if there were no boys to inherit it

  • Epilepsy was a curse to any family who had a relative with this condition. The only noticeable difference was that Prince John had the luxury of a priveliged life, even though he was 'hidden' away.Had he been just a 'commoner' chances are he would have died much sooner, more than likely in some institution.

  • where can i get this song? its one of the most beautiful i have ever heard

  • @UberVoltage not sure but i DO know it's featured heavily on the dvd... so perhaps that could guide you in the right direction! it's the song that plays while the menu is on the screen... or at least part of it does.

  • wonderful thank you

  • Great video! Very powerful! Well done! :-)

  • One thing I've noticed in the movie was that everyone called King George VI "Georgie" when in fact he had always been called "Bertie." Like in the movie "Bertie and Elizabeth."

  • @sno0323 No, "Georgie" is George Duke of Kent, who did not become King. Albert "Bertie" was the second son who became King George VI.

  • Lovely tribute, especially the music, thank you so much for posting. Beautiful pictures (and some I've never seen of Johnnie). May both those princes rest in peace.

  • george was such a handsome man

  • T. R. H's The Prince George Duke of Kent and Princess Marina Duchess of Kent were a really beautiful couple, the most interesting royals beside H. R. H. The Princess Margaret.

  • Prince George was bisexual

  • what a fantastic collection of images you have! Lovely to see them - espeically like the one of Prince John wearing a hat with his sailor suit and looking upwards. That is such a cheeky smile on his face :)

  • What about the prince who became King Edward VIII, a.k.a. Duke of Windsor? Where was he when all these events occured?

  • @JimmyFormerMarine

When these events happened Edward was ashamed of his younger brother, and on his death he was quoted as saying why mourn a monstrosity,Edward got what he deserved in the end.Reading about George he was deeply affected by Prince Johns death.Thank you for sharing this video

  • @avgorou2010 what a bastard!

  • @Rain89Sweed

why am i bastard, for exposing that Edward was a selfish bastard.Little Johnny deserved better.

  • @avgorou2010 i didn't mean you, i meant that Edward was a bastard. And you are right Johnny deserved a much better.

  • @Rain89Sweed

Thats ok,not a fan of the British royals, but Johnny is my favourite,an innocent child although happy with his nanny,he should have at least died at home with his mother.

  • @avgorou2010 Yes but even he had John's photos in his private collection, so family is always so complicated. He was a very selfish man and his behaviour was dreadful. He also had to apologise to his mother for his remarks!

  • @Annabella56 Family is indeed always so complicated. I do wonder what Johnnies life had been like had he lived.

  • An excellent film and tribute- 5 xs We have just finished watching Poliakoffs film for the umpteenth time and we cry every time- Johnnie must have been a lovely boy

  • Very nice. I love the pictures- there are so few photos of John, it was neat to see so many photos of him. In all the books I have read of the royal family, you have many unique photos. I am so glad I "discovered" you on youtube.- Sue

  • Thank you so much, I'm glad, you like it! :)
