  • I find it slightly ironic and strange that this movie came out around christmas...Merry Christmas, have a pie!

  • When he's got the blade to her throat, the look on her face just says "Oh yeah, look at you workin' that blade" makes me crack up every time...I also laugh when she dies...is that bad?

  • i think its sexy when he says : i'll come again when u have judge on the menu, his tone in that makes me shiver

  • me too, but probably for a different reason.

  • lol at 48 seconds he has the blade at her neck and shes like :D

  • yeah i know!

  • "We'll take the customers that we can get." Man, his voice gives me shivers.

  • I Love Sweeney Todd!!! and of course Johnny Depp!!!!!!!!His voice IS like a rockstar!! And he says he can't sing! ^^

  • johnny depps voice is like a rockstar XD

  • okay... i'm pretty thick headed, and I haven't watched the movie. So can anyone clear this up for me?

Their gonna make pies out of people and sell them?

  • Well, Sweeney Todd is killing people and they need to do something with the body's and, at the time, the price of meat was very high and not allot of people had much money so Mrs. Lovett had the idea to use the people Todd killed in the pies.

  • when they are dancing and spinning around Todd is holding the knife close to Lovett's neck but then he's holding it at her waist then back to her neck lol =p

  • It's because they take lots of different shots of each scene so in one they had Johnny Depp holding it at the neck and in the other at the waist and when they switch through the shots you can see the change.

  • i know this was like the best movie ever made, but have you noticed that tim burton always has Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter or one or the other in all of his movies. it would seem that he likes those two a bit much

  • I should hope so. Helena is his wife.

  • Helena is who's wife? I thought she was married to someone completely different.

  • Helena was married to a man who called Alfred

  • At the end, when they're looking out the window, its like they're cats watching fish. Predators watching prey, ya kno?

  • such a GOOD film!

    its just.... AH-mazing!

    muaaaah

  • ahhhh this movie is so good i cnt even stand it! tim burton is SUCH a genius and johnny depp is just AHHHHHHH! i cant think of a better way 2 describe him lol. helena is sososososo good 2. its rly clear that shes not in this movie because her husband directed it....shes a damn good actress! and singer 4 that matter.

  • Amen to that! And Tim Burton is just superawesometastic and the coooooolest sort of creepy there has been since Edgar Allan Poe.

  • I LOVED this movie, and especially this duet with Johnny & Helena!

Gotta love Burton, I have all of his movies, and now I gotta get this one!

  • oh xD

  • Bonnie?

  • I haven't see nthis movie yet, but I have heard this song and had no idea that it wa actually about...a little priest lol

  • okay...for example: look at 00.53: cleaver near her neck

then: 1.00: cleaver down at her back...

at doesn´t really matter...but the mistake is there;) ^^

  • noooo falloutboulover is right!

it´s obvious, that he grabs her with the cleaver in his hand, but watch the closeups during the dance: the cleaver is behind er neck. then the full bodyshot: she cleaver is near her hips...

    thaaaat´s a mistake...in a Tim Burton movie^^ shocking:P

  • I love how johnny holds that cleaver it is so sexy. i don't know why either. hehehe

  • Doesn't anyone see the cockaroaches running around the food?+_+

  • i see them! omg. i wouldn't of noticed though. good eyes.

  • It's a gift, along with great hearing.+_+

  • I LOVEEEE ! (l)

  • Amo esta pelicula XD

  • no prob even people like me who have spoken english my entire life still does things like that lol

  • Helena is sexi =P

  • MISTAKKKEEE I SAW A MISTAKEE it starts about 0:50 Sec , do you see Sweeney take a Fork?when they dance, see the fork always moving in clips....

  • I don't see a fork...

  • i love that johnny has such a smokey voice... and then helen has like a like a lemony flavor to it... *giggles* i love listening with my tongue! this movie always makes me hungry =P

  • For me the best musical ever is Jesuschrist superstar I have never seen any stage version of any musical, but hell! I`ve seen a lot of movie musicals and I love them. Cabaret and all that jazz are my favorites, also Moulin Rouge. I love the musical of The Phantom of the opera, love its word, love its music, but i HATE THE MOVIE.

  • yeah, tim burton, johnny depp and helena bonham carter, can't be better :D

  • god that song is so awesome, johnny and helena were born from these roles, they're the perfect strange couple , burton was so right to cast them !!! x parfait!

  • I love this song!

I wish I could perform it on stage doing Sweeney's part (Though his voice is a baritone, and mine is more of a bass)!

  • I love Johnny Depp's hair in this movie!!! He looks soooo good! ^^

I saw this movie this week and I liked it, but some songs bored me. Mostly when the boy with the long brown hair sang his 'Johanna'-song.

  • if you wrote this in english and only speek german you did really good just diffrent forms of the words like their, there and they're or to two and too stuff like that =]

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!

    amo esta escena!!!!!!

  • i LOVE this movie its a little emo/goth concept but its realy great. i think its awesome with the ending its so shocking that that old begger had a real role no i didnt spoil but did say what i thought xD

  • can you imagine i wanted to see this movie with my mom?

  • LOL! In the weeks leading up to its premiere, I often semi- seriously offered to let my mom come with me to see it (She loves musicals), but seeing the trailer for it when we saw 'Beowulf' was enough to convince her that it wasn't a movie she'd want to see.

  • lucky girl..i wanna dance and sing with him. :P

he can hold a knife to my throat anyday. :)

  • Oh, thanks SO much for this!! I've been trying to find a screencap of them standing in the window, but now I can make my own!

  • I love the part where he pulls her over to the widow kinda holding her han i think this is the moment where he actually does love mrs lovett =] But i hate the ending its so sad!

  • The scene is so awesome! At the end where they say anyone at all theyre sposta be singin together lol all you can here is johnnys voice lol. But where helena says we have shperds pie pepperd with actuall sheperd on top is so funny!

  • this film is amazin :)

'we have shepherds pie peppered with actual shephard on top'

<--- best line of song lmao.

i really want to find the video to 'By The Sea' - its the best song and nobody has it! :(

  • Johnny and Helena did a wonderful job here! What I like the most about this whole dancing scene is the way they exchange glances, like two accomplices who are delighted to have finally discovered each other. There's a really nice and discrete touch of sensuality and chemistry between them, and this is probably the only moment in the whole story where we can actually see Todd showing some admiration for Lovett and appreciating her as a woman and a "bloody wonder".

  • I love the way he looks at her when they dance god hes so hot XD

  • they end up together in the end, but sweeneys reluctant. and yes, i agree he is very hot:D

  • There are 3 versions of Sweeny available. Angela Lansbury's is ok, the George Hearn/Patti Lupone concert version is my personal favorite - Neil Patrick Harris makes a fabulous Toby, and then the movie. The movie is missing several songs and has shortened others. Nothing wrong with that; I really liked the movie, but you should know the music is different depending on the version you ask for. :)

  • I feel sorry for you. I got to see it and I'm only 12yrs. Of course my dad took me and I saw it with him and my bff. It's ok, a little graphic but I love it

  • lol yeah he was a bit pimpin! 'it's pimp, have a little pimp' but yeah..i'm 13...saw it..awesome film..hope you get to see it.

  • Hmmhmm, I'm even younger than you and IVE seen it. Just convince you parents with the whole "it's a musical" thing. *wink*

  • how would that help you get into a cinema...

  • I got in fine...

  • that's how I got to see it. it's a musical, it's a musical...

  • Aww, come on! it's been on Broadway for years! there's only a bit of blood, a really tiny bit! You have to have blood in Sweeney Todd! But it's really not that bad, really...*giggles*

  • god she's soo lucky.

    i'm in envy. :D

  • I got dizzy

    But i love this scene

  • I Lovett holding their weapons of choice at each others necks!!!

  • lol

  • i love how when they're dancing he's holding a bucher's knife & she's holding a rolling pin haha. tim burton=genius

  • You know, the stage came up with that.

  • sweeney calls her his PET .

and she calls him her LOVE .

a bit of a diffrence there eh ?

    lol ,

    awesome movie .

how'd you even get these clips !?

  • Nah, they're just ridiculous British pet-names, really. XD They call each other the weirdest crap.

  • They're brits. They could call each other their snick flump petals and it would be okay. I swear, it's a law or something.

  • "Snick Flump Petals" I'm so calling my boyfriend that. Heehee.

This movie is amazing. I can't wait to buy it!

  • Yeah, like my parents call me 'pet' and 'pet lamb' all the time. Is it really only a British thing though? That's interesting.

  • Pretty much. I mean, I don't know whether it's big in foreign countries or something, but in America, generally the people who use it are using it "Britishly", so to speak. You know, putting on the accent or joking about it. Generally, it's a British thing.

  • Ha! Well, we are a strange lot. I mean, Sweeney Todd is a famous historical figure here from the penny dreadfuls. Been around for years!

  • and aussie too

  • Sweeney Todd in Australia? Huh? Or do you mean the pet name thing?

  • 109, the turn, LOVE IT

and I love "at ooooool" from Helena!

  • what the hell is a "Fop" ?

  • a pimp

  • No, no.

A fop is someone in high class, vain and concieded.

  • i thought fop was the name of the dude who ran the assylum...?

  • Foggs, actually. And fop can also refer to a homosexual. =D

  • no arse

  • I love this part 00:45 to the end SOOO MUCH.

All the little things about it...

He swoops in as if he's going to kiss her, then sorta holds her with the cleaver to her THROAT as he speaks of revenge, then they start ballroom dancing with their designated tools...

And he calls her PET and she calls him LOVE...

    God I love this clip!<3<3<3<3<3

  • gosh there hasnt been a good musical around since Phantom of the Opera

  • West Side Story? Moulin Rouge? I think they're pretty significant, not to mention amazing.

  • those too...

  • What about Rent? I thought it was pretty good.

  • Not on the same level.

  • I've never seen the stage version of Rent - is it any good? I enjoyed the movie version. I also enjoyed Phantom, Chicago, and Moulin Rouge. Hairspray was pretty good too.

  • Cabaret and West Side Story should be mentioned too and I haven't seen the stage version. Ugh, I hate Phantom. F

  • Have you seen Wicked? I loved it, but I'm afraid of what they would do to it if it were turned into a movie. :/

  • Oh lord, my friend is OBSESSED with that bloody musical. I haven't seen Wicked but I'm afraid to mention it around her because she would start ranting about it at 110wpm (words per minute).

  • i love how they end both looking out the window, sweeney with his killing devicee and lovett with her rolling pin which makes the meat

  • I turn to my friend in the movie and go "So....theyre dancing...with an axe...and...a rolling pin...."

  • meat cleaver actually ;) so romantic...

  • wait wait...

so uhmm wat r the pies for? r they gunna bake up all the ppl they're planning to kill into pies??

lols yes yesh stupid question i kno

  • I like how he calls her his PET and she calls him her LOVE... it kinda shows the difference in how they think they relate to one another.

  • rofl .

  • i thought he was gonna kiss her at 1:45 xD

  • Hey you're right! I paused it at :45 and noticed it!

  • yea lol

  • Johnny and Helena are amazing together.

  • i think that mrs. lovette and sweeney are way better couple than lucy and sweeney

  • well not really...

i mean before all this happened he was a normal sweet man... then this happened and he cracked...

he missed his 1st chance to kill the Judge and he COMPLETELY cracked

So sane Ben. Barker was good with Lucy... insane Sweeney good with Lovette....

But personally I like that they are holding their designated tools more then cutting back and forth (Sweeney with a sharp clever and Lovette with the rolling pin) haha brilliant

  • WOW LOVE this part how they sing.Cant wait to see it thanx for the clips =D

  • Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant.

    I love this song. =D

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! It is so dark, but it's so upbeat and happy! Stephen Sondheim is a genius, as well as Helena and Johnny! (Oops, cannot forget Tim Burton! Well done!)

  • I really liked this clip! Brava!

  • Great, they're singing wonderful, so emotionally and unaffected ! Another amazing clip !

  • Amazing. Helena's voice is so sweet!

  • LOL

Love it when Helena flicks the flour at 0:18!

I dunno why, it just kills me! XD

  • I know they're going for "subtle" and "gloomy" in this adaptation, but I think they could have smirked or given each other amused glances just a bit more when they sang about the politician. Eh, whatever, the humor was still there, I think. Bravo!
