  • brilliant brings many memories i loved it,,, see even regulations existed back then :)

  • Di the stationmaster is such a condescending prick, I should've noted that at age 6...

  • Haha thats not bread thats Dragon!

  • So where does Idris go when Ivor's shut up at night? Surely he can't have his fire lit all the time.

  • aww man hands were sweatin when the dragon almost got water poured on him, poor wee thing

  • Ivor ....chases the dragon.......Was all children's programs produced by 'drug uses' during our Generation... Tomas who....

  • Name all the dragons other than idris

  • Someone help me out, what is Idris saying when Dai fetches the bucket of water?

"No, No! Not water! Water is (something) to dragons!"

I used to watch this all the time as a kid but have never caught what he says!

  • "Water is certain death to dragons!"

  • Finally! Yes, I can hear it now!

    Thank you very much!

  • @Bowmaj21 idris says no no not water water is sudden death to dragons

  • @flameboy296 I thought it was "certain death" rather than sudden death ...

  • Not to be an ass or anything, but does anyone else think at 2:40 or so (when Idris climbs into the fire) that this could easily be taken out of context, if you catch my meaning?

:-) Dragon enjoy himself a little TOO much, if you catch my drift.

  • Strange that the dragon and the last king of Libya have the same name. Thanks for posting, happy memories.

    R.I.P. Oliver Postgate

  • @asquire2007 Not just in the 60s! Oliver postgate made my parents happy and now he makes me happy too! And I hope that one day he will make my children happy :)

  • Wonderful to revisit one of my favourite programmes!!! I note that Mr. Jones' first name is Edwin - there used to be a department store in Southampton in my youth called Edwin Jones!

Thank you to all who've posted these videos and RIP Oliver Postgate, a unique talent no longer appreciated in the commercialism that is now children's TV

  • thank you Mr Postgate RIP helped me hve a happy childhood!

  • I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

  • I was once stranded at Crewe when travelling to Scotland as they had cancelled a train and the guard told me the same thing! British rail isn't run for the convenience of passengers! (substotute passengers for dragons)

Ended up getting them to let me on the mail train to Aberdeen and they put on a special stop for me....

  • very educational, I didn't know that water could kill dragons, will have to remember that.

  • "Thats not bread, thats Dragon!"

  • The fire sequence used to freak me out as a kid! Guess my 3 year old self wasn't used to that much drama in this kind of program, lol!
