uncharted 2 only got so much praise because it really was the only good quality game in 09. Xbox had no major exclusives released, Wii had no major exclusives released, nothing for PC or DS or PSP, Uncharted stood on it's own in the spot light, this year Uncharted 3 won't nearly get noticed as much because every console including 3DS has a huge exclusive game and there are a TON of multiplats as well.

It wasn't fantastic, it was just a great action storyline more for how it was done with the characters and how well the cinematics were done. The story itself is pretty typical and nothing to write home about, but as a whole, characters/story/cutscenes come together to make it great in how it was presented.

A fun popcorn action movie story, multiple gameplay elements mixed together seemlessly, fantastic graphics, some of the best animations in video game history. uncharted 2 only got so much praise because it really was the only good quality game in 09. Xbox had no major exclusives released, Wii had no major exclusives released, nothing for PC or DS or PSP, Uncharted stood on it's own in the spot light, this year Uncharted 3 won't nearly get noticed as much because every console including 3DS has a huge exclusive game and there are a TON of multiplats as well.

@GaZear The story was just typical action movie fanfare, nothing more. It wasn't fantastic, it was just a great action storyline more for how it was done with the characters and how well the cinematics were done. The story itself is pretty typical and nothing to write home about, but as a whole, characters/story/cutscenes come together to make it great in how it was presented.

A fun popcorn action movie story, multiple gameplay elements mixed together seemlessly, fantastic graphics, some of the best animations in video game history. Great music to compliment gameplay, smooth transaction from gameplay to cutscenes, great voice acting and lovable characters, crazy over the top summer blockbuster set pieces and so on, along with a fun and smooth online feature

The storyline is stupid as hell. How is it not good guy kills bad guy? Is it because he was hunting for treasure?
Not to mention that they stole the story of Uncharted 2 from a book called The Lost Horizon wrote in 1933.
Don't believe me? Look the book up. The story is almost identical. Gameplay is typical 3rd person shooter shit. Reminds me of Gears of War, which I fucking hate.
Don't care bout graphics. Shouldn't even be mentioned really.

The nominees have select people to go up and accept the award on behalf of the entire team. The development team was huge, what with a game like Uncharted 2. They can't have everyone go up. So they sent a few up to get the award. But the award was to Naughty Dog as a company, not just Amy Hennig and Bruce Straley.
