Makes especially all whom are known to play piano today look like elementary school children! This man was a Genius! Makes classical music seem as if it can only be a filler to believe what you actually hear is Authentic! Erroll Garner was the Truth and to date i hear no other of relevancy!
Wrapped around the first 16 and last bars of "Thanks for the Memory" are some of the most imaginitive take offs on classical music you will ever hear.
No offense to Mr. Hope, but Mr. Garner's piano interpretation of "Thanks For The Memory" has just been 'kicked up to notches unknown!' He was WONDERFUL!!
@andy96ok-You missed the Clair de Lune which precedes it.

I heard him first time on the Alan Stuart "jazz at ten" program on Long Island's WHLI in 1968 when I was 15, and I'm still listening!

The word genius is used way, way too often. I have a feeling this chap is pretty close to it.

Genius! Incredible performance... esp. classical interlude - pieces are
Debussy - Claire De Lune, Chopin Valse 64 nr 2, (Pass, maybe Strauss Vienna Woods a bit re-written), Liszt - Liebestraum.
Truly unique and talented.

You are wright. It is Johann Strauss "Geschichten aus dem Wiener Wald" (Vienna Woods)
