thats not 30 frames a second. 15 or so at best, I pray they optimise it for smooth frame rate. I hate sloppy frame rates, this is 2009. When is the snapdragon coming
@OpalSerpent hi, i'm from the future. you'll be glad to know 2011 android phones can run not only quake1, but quake3 with maxed settings always over 30fps with no problems at all. now here's to hoping my message doesn't get caught in a huge timeline lag and actually reaches you in 2009, when it's meant to.
currently there is a port being worked on at xda-developers getting Android to work on windows mobile. I've been meaning to test some apps and games, and this would be a great emulator to test. Better yet, the phone I'm running is using a qualcomm processor, so it would make the results even more interesting. Is the emulator available for download yet?
That wasn't nearly as cool as I was hoping it would be. The frame rate drops considerably in spots. I'm hoping it's just a case of underperforming Qualcomm hardware. (And while we're at it, what's with that beefy circa-1998 handset?
Looks slow.I run quake2 on my Motorola Cliq better than this.

actually at that time quake was not optimized and was not using openGL, looks like software mode.
now it runs smooth on every android phone even the first G1

Gotta love PR people. Somebody might want to inform the guy that games running at 30 FPS do not run choppy. That game is dipping well below it.

To be fair I doubt the video is 30 FPS so how can you see the game running at 30 fps?
