Stagnant seems a little harsh and people in Cos my take offense but apparently some like Zach feel that way. It might be weird though if they are just in a plateau and years later will explode with vibrant creativity that one sparked in the organization. I think this will eventually happen. I remember reading that although a membership is considered lifetime,if you request to be withdrawn from the list they will grant such a request. Either way the rules that applied while LaVey was alive when I signed up ,I no longer deem valid . No disrespect towards the C of S and Gilmore,but I signed up with a different team in 1994.

lol i quit following the church of satan when levay died i knew it went to hell with him... atone lavey the person that he was drew me there not what it stood for and dont worry my friend i still dont agree with some of there stuff my self. to me its a thin line between it and witch craft satanism is just darker by name.... alot of people get it confused anyways with crowleyism and voodoo... and i love your show by the way you teech the monkeys rights and wroungs about us... keep your show going

Always stay true to what you believe in. you do not need a church of any kind to help you define who you are or your beliefs. Since the internet is available to people of all religions you can easily find like minded people on just about any site.

The CoS is user-driven, and at that we find ourselves quite content in the way things are. You only get out what YOU put in, I find it humorous that you put that the CoS isn't an active part of the satanic community...

@ni1337 Anthropologists have proven that we like people who are similar to ourselves. All humans desire to be needed and loved. This isn't an opinion, it's fact. Therefore to dismiss the idea of forming an active community so that people could mingle is absurd. It's human nature to want to talk to like minded people.
I agree that if he wanted the 'community' to be active he should have became an agent and done something about it himself.

'community' has always been, and will continue to be, a metaphorical referent. by proclaiming that "There is no Satanic community", it effectively alienates itself from it. so be it. -- nocTifer

@nagasiva That is what troubles me most Naga. Instead of grabbing hold of the net and moving Satanism and info in their direction. The Cof S acted like it was not worth their attention. LaVey in Satan Speaks (his last book) made a comment similar too (the internet will change everything,especially Satanism) . Certainly Gilmore is no fool. But why would he allow the C of S to miss out on directing Satanism online ? Their is no reason why I should have double the audience as Gilmore on youtube

@satanicinternational: your observation that Peter H. Gilmore (and Peggy Nadramia! she tried to exercise some direction in alt.satanism and nobody was about to allow that! and Blanche Barton!!) is no fool is a good one. I suggest that they knew how impossible such direction would be to maintain. from a distance, there can be no sense of 'losing control of Satanism' due to the immense administration effort, time and energy it would take to effect such a non-workable project. Undercroft is fine!

@ni1337 what you say is true however there is alot of satanic philosophy that can draw back to history. So yes we need it to be progressive so people understand alternative philosophy and psychology in a larger way. Instead of scapegoating satanism....

well it makes sense since you are trying to being independent with S.I.N tho i have heard that boyd rice is going to be taking over as lavey wanted him to before he passed and boyd said no as he was independent and didnt like where it was headed but now hes back or so i have heard and he wants to reform it and actually make it a proactive organization. tho im not too sure how this all work. i myself am not a member and dont plan on it bcos i dont agree with belonging to a church. satanic or
