My children were taken away based that my children were fighting during a visit with the GAL and she wouldn't let me fully attend to them and went back and said I can't control my kids and then they took them the foster parents are brainwashing my kids. foster homes are not doing there jobs to protect the kids and the system don't care.

it looks like one of the worst things that can happen to a child is to be turned over to the hands of the state. there are some good people fostering children but for the most part they are greedy and neglectful. i used to work in the mental health field and it wore me down seeing the wards of the state every day. they all needed one thing--to be told they mattered--they wanted someone to PAY ATTENTION. oh and one other thing--hugs, too! thanks for your work. may you be blessed!

Perry did a study on the "foster child's brain" where it shows that when a child is separated from the family, their brains don't grow any more than that of a child that is "Caged from Birth to age 5"

I have been contemplating doing this for years. I completely understand your concern. I have decided to become a foster parent to provide a child with their needs. I understand the emotional baggage they will come with and I'm not sure I'm prepared to handle it but I will give it my all. Thank you for posting this! Usually my kids' cases go the other way- nothing substantial required to change the neglectful/abusive parenting and no protection after returning the child. The last girl who left my home, was "reunified" over my strong objections, with the worker even admitting she knew it was unsafe. Now she's back (3rd time), neglected again and this time badly abused, too. Why put a kid through this huge loss if not to ensure their safety? "Do social workers really do social work?" I ask that all the time.

Social workers do not do social work! This profession died a long time ago. I don't think that anyone can define a social worker. If there was a poll, most people would not trust a social workers. Most of them need to be in therapy. A good judge would question a county social worker's report despite the number of signature signing off on it. Good children's lawyers hire their own investigators to ensure the accuracy of a DCFS report. Social workers should become Hollywood writers. They can spin.

The system takes children on an assumption that one horrible parent is what all the parents are like. That's called, "Stereotyping". Stereotyping is wrong. You learn that as a child in school. You learn that in college. You learn that in Psychology 101. The system uses "Stereotyping" and get away with it. In a criminal court, facts have to be proven. In family court, stereotypes are presented as evidence, and a parent or child has no opportunity to speak. The system is broken.

I understand what your message is here but I also want to tell you that if we return these children to their parents it will happen again! Look at all the Domestic Violence where the Husband or the Boyfriend tells their partner that they are sorry and it will never happen again.. I understand that these children love their parents but it isnt enough. When my children were born they were reaching out for me and nowhere did I see a parent handbook in their little hands. Stop the cycle! Educate!

I appreciate your comment. It's apparent that we have different views, from our experiences, of course. I know that there is a need for intervention, today especially. I can only speak for myself and those who I deal with on a daily basis. I DO NOT want to deter from helping those who need immediate intervention. Every story is different. I asked for help for my daughter, years prior to meeting an actual social worker. They did get involved, later, took my girls, returned them, with no remorse.

But, those who are on the receiving end of the system, need to open their eyes and ears, and see the damage that they are doing to families. I cannot believe what I am hearing here. I am a survivor of Child Abuse/Sexual Abuse of the 70's and my home life was Hell! NO ONE CAME TO SAVE ME. I am not saying that some of these parents dont deserve their kids back but most of them are going to repeat the cycle and end up really hurting these kids!

I was a Child Advocate and I had to quit because I could not live with myself for sending them back to their prisons. How many more children have to suffer? Where are their rights?

IMFosterParent is right on! Keep up the good work. Blast your videos all over the Internet. I was a fost parent for over 15 years in CA, and had experience with them in Nevada and Ohio. Many foster parents are in it for the big money. And that's the God's truth. These kids stolen by CPS and places with strangers will not likely ever get over losing their parents. The emphasis should be on treating the parents if it is needed - and sometimes it is - not on just breaking up good families.

Attn America! It could happen to YOU. People have the misconception that "I don't abuse my children, so I don't have to be afraid of CPS." You couldn't be more wrong! All you have to do is tick off somebody, and the call is made. CPS is incapable of investigating anything. They just take the report as fact and run with it. The nightmare begins. Think of a stranger taking your child and placing them with strangers. And thats what a foster parent is. A stranger! It COULD happen to you!
