  • Hi, Ochi-san!

I'm not a huge fan of banana, so do you know what should i use to give the ice cream texture without using banana?

Thank you very much for your videos!

    有り難う!

  • @ochikeron: thank you for clearing that up for me! (about my question about having no blender at home)... i'm sorry to bother you again, but i have another question, if only sweetened green tea powder is available in my local Japanese store, how much of the powder and sugar should i add?

  • Ochi, i made this yesterday for my husband. He liked it a lot! Thanks for the recipe!! Its delicious and healthy too. :)

  • I can't find soya whipping cream :/

  • @MissYou232 you can use regular whipping cream :)

  • Hello, ochikeron! I'm wondering what I could do to improvise if I don't have a blender at home? could i just mash my bananas and use the egg beater/wire whisk to mix it together with the green tea paste and other ingredients?

  • @10726209 that is possible but might not smooth in texture... if you have a strainer, you can strain the mixture once and it would be better :)

  • i like...thanx for this easy recipe. i live n a very isolated town in utah .the tea you mention, what online store can you buy it from or what is the name of the store you buy it from....감 사 합 니 다 thank you

  • @novastarsimmons i don't get it online, so i don't know which stores are reliable... but basically for this recipe you can use any kind of matcha green tea powder available online. i recommend you to get at the shop you likely to use :)

  • if i wanted to make vanilla ice cream instead of green tea ice cream could i just not put in the green tea powder and put in vanilla extract instead?

  • @DNDKS2 yes ;) that sounds nice!

  • mindy gledhill?? :)

  • Thanks for the tutorial! I think I like green tea because of its umami flavor. I know I like a lot of umami-rich foods, so...

  • @EggoROFLS you know umami! that is advanced :D

  • what was the song??

  • what's the song?

  • @soooookawaii always i keep the music info in the description box ;)

  • @ochikeron Yeah...I looked there right after I sent the message lol

  • @soooookawaii great ;)

  • I really like East Asian foods, especially Japanese and Korean foods because they are much lighter. All the food overseas are loaded heavily with cream and sugar so Japanese food is always so light and refreshing. I also really like the bitter taste and aroma of green tea ^^

  • @xxCutenDeadlyxx yay! thanks for liking and understanding the japanese foods ;)

  • did you use unsweetened soy milk or sweeten??

  • @minnikeyangel unsweetened one ;)

  • I like green tea for the...smoothness? compared to black tea's robustness and white tea's delicacy. Japanese green tea also has that nice sweet vegetable-type flavor. And most people in North America/Europe think that all tea water should be boiling, so green tea always ends up bitter, but they experience the flavor in sweets.

  • @kiwisocks oh, btw, some people put sugar in green tea, which we don't do in japan. haha

  • I think people overseas like Green Tea because the colour is so pretty, and the taste is not too strong especially in desserts... haha

  • I LOVE this!!! You are adorable!!!! :)

  • Your nails are so cute! :)

  • I've never made ice-cream before but I made it today, and i just realized that this is so easy and so yummy :D thanks ochikeron !!

  • @Eternity729 thank you :D

  • Mmmmmmmmm green tea ice cream...

  • so um ya...im from america...and we are like the only ones who dont use the metric system x.x so is there any chance that i could get a coversion? :O i dont have a scale x.x

  • @bloo278 I hear ya I wish we would just convert already, it'd be easier than having to convert everything -_- plus we drive on the wrong side of the road, I mean come on! We're so behind T_T

  • I like green tea ice cream and roll cake. It's good because its yummy and it's healthier than something with synthetic processed flavors. But unfortunately it's hard for me to find overseas

  • @bysomeyimes Depending on where you're at, you can find vegan stuff at HEB (Texas), Trader Joe's (only in 3 states), Whole Foods (Not really sure).

There are bound to be a fair few local chain health food stores and if you're having troubles finding one, or they're a bit too expensive, you could always find recipes for the items and make it yourself. -shrugs-

  • i think many of us like green tea foods because it's not that much avaiable to us? well that's just my opinion. i haven't tried any green tea food besides chocolate, but i do enjoy green tea often.

  • i love green tea matcha :) i get it from ichibankan.

  • i love your videos sooooo much!!!! :D and iv tried many of your recipes and they taste amazing!!! thanks soo much!!

  • I love green tea because the taste is so delicious!

  • I like eating delicious foods and I don't know why but green color makes the food more appetizing for me. As for matcha green tea, I like the bitterness of the flavor. I used to drink matcha milk tea everyday, but it was 2 years ago xD

  • @SuperJapaneselover

your lucky class... i want some!

  • I am allergic to soy. What other substitutes can be used instead??please reply as soon as possible as I really want to try out this recipe.

  • @bobokite123 milk is perfect, if you can drink ;)

  • @bobokite123 that's kind of interesting since I'm allergic to lactose xD

  • @bobokite123 There is also almond milk or coconut milk (if you aren't allergic to nuts). Maybe that could be used.

  • @bobokite123 You can use coconut milk, rice milk (most brands contain arsenic), almond milk, any nut milk really or plain dairy milk.

It all depends on taste, really. I prefer coconut milk, almond milk and hazelnut milk. I refuse to try rice milk, since many brands contain arsenic.

  • @bobokite123 I'm allergic to soy too (not good for you anyway). Here are substitutes: Almond Milk

    Coconut Milk

    Hemp Milk

    Oat Milk

    Other Emerging “Milks”

    Potato Milk

    Rice Milk

  • @bobokite123 Oatly make a vegan cream as well

  • Comment removed

  • @bysomeyimes i found them at my local store but i hope you can find something similar at your place :(

  • AMAZING!!! I need to try this!!!

  • @SuperJapaneselover thank you very much!!! i am so happy to hear that!!!

  • @ochikeron Can you substitute the green tea powder with something else?I can't find it near my home... T.T

But I do have green japanese though! Thanx! ^ ^

  • @ochikeron You remind me alot of my sister. Your food looks really good. I want to try it someday.

  • i love your videos as much as your music selection! lol

  • green tea is nice in desserts because it's bitterness act similarly to cocoa powder when accenting a desserts sweetness.

  • I made some a few days ago and its yummy :D

  • @prettysing thanks!!!

  • こんにちは!

    普通のアイスを作るには

    抹茶を抜いたレシピで良いんですか?

  • @SJwest1029 大丈夫です☆そしたらバナナアイスになります。でもバナナをぬくとちょっと硬くなるかもしれません。

  • whats the song called?

  • @Thekawaiistrawberrie i put the details in the description box ;D

  • If I dont want to use soy milk can I use regular milk? and what percentage would I use? 1% 2% or whole milk?

  • @girldancer001 yes you can use milk. i would go for higher percentage if i want rich ice cream. of course you can use skim milk, but it might taste too light. hehe

  • @ochikeron alrighty so i made a double batch of this recipe just now! I'll let you know tomorrow how it turned out and if I can do a video response I will. I used the following

    Organic Heavy Whipping Cream

    Organic Bananas

    Organic Whole milk

    White sugar

    Teavanas Matcha Green Tea Powder.

I really wanted to go down to the Japanese market to see if I could find the Lakanto and the Matcha that you used in this video but I couldnt drive down there today. Hopefully it will still turn out yummy!

  • I guess many people started drinking green tea, because of the health benefits and the fact that it contains no "theïne" (tea version of caffeine), which is different from some other teas. I guess that it just grew on people and became very popular that way.

  • @marisestube i didn't know it's called "theïne"!!! thanks for sharing the info!!!

  • nice. can u do one with cherries? lol dat be nice

  • @Cupcom5 yes you can use cherries but with banana i recommend for this recipe since i don't use egg. cherry banana sounds good, though ;D

  • I love green tea Ochi! That is special green tea ice cream you have there. If I am not mistaken the Matcha tea is used in the Japanese tea ceremony. So now we have a new era! The Japanese Green Tea Ice Cream Ceremony!......:) The banana adds a nice creaminess to it to! Thanks!

  • @MrEZCooking yes! matcha is used for the tea ceremony ;D but for sweets, too!!! thanks for liking this recipe. i thought adding banana is werid. but i'm glad you loved it ;)

  • @ochikeron Hi Ochi! Nah! The banana was not weird good call actually because I love the sweetness and creaminess of bananas. This is really a neat recipe and I am going to have to make it. Besides, the sweetness from the banana can save on using processed sugars!

  • I like green tea because it's yummy... and healthy. =3
