I actually kind of appreciate that you aren't tearing it up like a guitar god. Let's face it - those guys can make anything sound awesome. This is a more honest summary of the pedal.
What kind of guitar are you running through this? What amp are you running this through?
@zyxomma1 The guitar is a stock Epiphone Les Paul Custom with 9s. There's no amp: the sound is taken from the pedal's rec-out output and sent directly into the camcorder's mic input. Thanks, have fun!
@Moza47 I don't know what the "super chorus" is, so I don't know what to say... I just know that the one on the ME-70 is the classic chorus effect. Have fun!
@Moza47 I didn't set it right for a demo here, the effect is not very noticeable, but if you listen carefully you'll hear a difference.
The chorus gives you the impression of two guitars playing the same thing at the same time, more or less. It achieves this by taking the dry sound, and adding it with a slightly delayed copy of it self, and modulating it's pitch making it "wobbly". You can use it for example for "fattening" the sound or for a "psychedelic" effect. Very nice. Also see Wikipedia.
@eamp08 Ehi man. I mean no offense but, isn't it easier and faster for you to just Google the thing? I mean, what good is to you to know that I payed 280 EUR for it, 1 year ago, in Italy? :) Anyway thanks for your comment. Have fun.
@iwillworship2 I haven't used many other wahs, anyway this feels right to me: not too hard, not too loose. You can select how hard you need to tap the pedal to activate the wah, which is nice. The wah sounds good to me, and makes the right sounds. You can hear a sample in my video called "Guitar improvisation over a simple loop". Have fun!
A rotating speaker, thanks to the Doppler effect, changes a sound by making it somewhat "liquid", vibrating and pulsating. Many songs feature this signature sound (see "Leslie speaker" on Wikipedia).
The Univibe tried to achieve that kind of sound. One of its first users was Jimi Hendrix (Machine Gun). David Gilmour also used it (Breathe).
I don't know how close the BOSS ME-70 is to the original Univibe, but I think it sounds interesting.
i had a doubt in my mind...when u use the phrase loop...can you loop a certain set of chords that you play and play solo leads over it without the leads being set into the loop patern???i am not a pro..pleasebe nice to me
Yes you can just lay down a simple chord progression, and then loop that forever and play over it. See for example my video titled "Guitar improvisation over a simple loop" - I did just that.
Sorry mate, I was still trying to grasp the different settings at the time. I thought the chorus was set up good, but when I listened the recording back, I noticed I could barely hear it...
Hey man good very good video as far as amps i use mine with several a good vox a practice vox and fender g-dec 30 and jr and it sounds great so i would not worry so much about that i am sure once you buy this for anyone who is not sure you will love it . Also you wont always have the amps you do know so go out and get you one before they go up in price.
I'm not sure I understand the question correctly, anyway you can have an effect from pedal 1 (compressor or other special fx), one from pedal 2 (distortion/overdrive), one from pedal 3 (modulations), one from pedal 4 (delays or looper), the expression pedal and reverb on, all at the same time. Check the 4th video out for a few "real world" demo sounds.
@Elefender THanks a lot for these reviews. What you said is so true. Boss demo's their stuff with profs but there are very few user reviews and demos comming from everyday guitarists. Just a quick q. How 'intelligent' is the harmonizer? I mean .... well you know what I mean :P
@MrJackanthony The harmonizer on this is not very intelligent, I reckon. It will "just" play the note you tell it to play. For example if you set it on "3" it will always play the 3rd of the note you're playing. Also, it doesn't work on chords but only on single notes.
The music I like to listen to and play doesn't make much use of a harmonizer so I didn't experiment too much with it; I can't tell you how limited it is and if it's act. usable. I hope this helps you a little bit anyway. Have fun!
I really don't know, it depends on your definition of "good", I guess... I use it with my cheap Orange Crush 10 practice amp and sounds very good to me, but given its price the Crush is a very honest amp to start with. And I'm unpretentious. :)
Try it before you buy, if you have the chance. If you can't, do your research. You can learn a lot of you spend some time googling. :) Have fun!
Well, it's very difficult to reply to such a question. It depends on what you play, how you play, what kind of tone you're trying to achieve, what equipment you already have, and what budget you have.
I'm a bedroom player, and I don't want to buy a big valve amp because I don't have enough space for it and my neighbours would complain about the noise. I wanted a multifx so I could play with earphones and have a lot of sounds to play with; also, I wanted a wah pedal.
The ME-70 suits me fine and didn't disappoint me. It cost 280 EUR. There are other very good multifx in this price range (ex.: Digitech RP500, Line 6 POD) and there's the Line 6 Live, which costs a lot more but offers you a slightly better sound quality and more features.
So you have a few choices and, with Google and YouTube, you can do some research and find what will suit you best.
Good luck, and if you buy some new gear post a video! :-)
Thanks for playing like a normal person and not like one of those people who can play notes at lightspeed!
