Here's a hint (Don't know about your editing program), try to make the video while speaking, don't worry about messing things up, and note down and remember what you're trying to say. Then record it in the microphone. You don't have to do the video all over again :) I don't know about the talking to cam vids though, maybe some raw cuts like youtube vloggers do :)
