  • This was the greatest true folkmusician. He lived his folk.

  • @talesandtunes

He is still living it :-)

  • @talesandtunes excuse me, he IS the greatest folmusician, and I hope, he is well.

  • Absolutely Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!

  • BRILLIANT!!! Love You PETE!!!

  • There's a petition on the web to urge the Nobel committee to select Pete Seeger for the Nobel Peace Prize. The honor is one he deserves, and is long overdue. I signed the petition, and hope you will too. Search for it on Google.

  • This just goes to show how good Pete Seeger is. An old man wrapped up from the cold his voice breaking and its fucking magic real deep I don't think I've seen anyone play with the meaning and emotion and love `Seeger has for music and the power of music.

  • hahaha "lovely guitar"

thats what a good musican always says after playing a good tune

  • Pete....He is the greatest living American..

It is incredible...how powerful he is..How powerful music and words of truth can scare the worst of dictators and presidents. There will never be a man who will replace him. Hes my vote for Nobel Peace Prize-

  • Woops I hit the down vote. My apologies.

    Peace

  • @greenwoodtea:

the Nobel Piece Prize, yes that would be something, I read that there was a campaign in Sweden (or Norway?) to propose him for the alternative Nobel Peace Prize in 2009, unfortunately it seems it didn't work.

  • A prayer. Touching. One of the greatest americans ever. Thanks Pete.

  • keep them freedom bells ringing!

  • Quite Early Morning! I love this song! You know, this is a Woody Guthrie song, for those of you who don't know, and I've been lookin' for it up and down but nowhere to be found. But here it is, unmarked! Sadly, though, the only versions I've heard are with Pete or Arlo. Well, I ain't complaining; I've got a new favorite. C=

  • Not a Woody Guthrie song. Pete wrote it.

  • Say, you're right! I always thought it was a Woody tune coz Pete states on the live album Together in Concert that he taught him the song (Lonesome Valley) it was based on and that he could never tell which lyrics were Woody's and which were the originals. Thanks for correcting me, though! No wonder I could never find it...

  • its amazing how a tied frail voice can have so much power and sadness

  • The frailness of the voice makes it that much more powerful. My God that was beautiful.

  • @southjerseyiron : but also the optimism in it, that 's what really impresses me!

  • brought tears to my eyes ..you always inspired us Sir ..God Bless !

  • Keep planting seeds, Pete! There's more fertile ground than you know...

  • We love you Pete. Few songs bring emotion as do yours...for me. See you down by the river in the spring...hopefully April 20 at the Earth Day fest.

  • where is this earth fest ive wanted to see him since the firts song i heard him sing, please tell me when and where. ill owe you my life if you do.
