but someone who never used a synthesizer woudln't understand this.

hear both versions after another and you may hear the difference.

to be honest. rainbow road theme sounds naturally a little like 8bit , so it isn't easy for beginners to hear the difference immediatly.

The whole point of gxscc was to emulate Konami's SCC sound chip which in turn produced sound that matched or surpassed sounds that were generated from Konami's bubble system (which I'm pretty sure ran on a 16 bit processor)

there's no such thing as 14-bit. only:

1 2 4 8 16 32 64 128 256

and so on... if you don't get the idea, you need to practice your math. basically, there's not much of a chance that you're going to get to say "about". there's a pretty big difference between 8-bit and 16-bit, and the rest is just completely different than those.

to everyone else, this is definitely 8-bit. or else, if it were 16-bit, you might mistake it for snes-style music.

@Felgrand101 It is indeed 8-bit sound. The difference is, this song uses a lot more sounds than the NES does. I think there's parts with 8-12 sounds at the same time, while the NES can only handle 3.
