Thats not even alitte true, oblivion was far more impressive in grapics than skyrim was, The newest grapic engine is Direct x 12 and skyrim uses direct x 9. Sure its a pretty game, but no way near the really big ones on that field. Battlefield 3 uses direct x 11 and 12.

I was just remarking that graphics don't matter because Bethesda games, while they may be advancing relative to each other, usually don't try to compete graphically with other games. Simply being a large sandbox RPG makes up for graphics bing subpar.

I recently got daggerfall and I set my home province as skyrim. I was very bored so I started killing people and when the guards came I surrendered and was found not guilty so I repeated this and found out that the guards couldn't kill me and I was never found guilty. I eventually died at night after I heard the sound of someone firing a bow. Unfortunately I was sent home to skyrim to do some guard duty and now my cousin's out fighting dragons.(This acctually happened, except for the guard duty)

Yes..the graphics are old and outdated but... Daggerfall was the whole Tamriel land mass. It was huge. Due to the amount of bugs and glitches (as with EVERY Elder Scrolls game) I never finished it. Skyrim is a cake walk compared to this. I guess they had to dumb down the game for console players. Arena, Daggerfall and Morrowind didn't lead you around on a leash. There was no..map marker added...crapola. You had to search yourself for places..things. I'm very disappointed with Skyrim.

and I can't say I played them all, because, while I did, I haven't gotten very far in them, like, at all =P

@CommercialAtrophy Daggerfall only took place around the Illiac Bay (effectively half of both Highrock and Redguard). You may have been thinking of the first game, Arena, which did take place in all of Tamriel. Arena = 6 millions square kilometers, Daggefall = 163,125 square kilometers, Morrowind = 10 square kilometers, Oblivion = 16 square kilometers, Skyrim = ~16 square kilometers (a guess, I don't know the exact measurements for Skyrim). But yes, Daggerfall is a HUGE game (game area wise).

The great things I've missed. Only playing quake and later duke nukem and never heard of these. No internet only hand to hand games. I don't even remember other ones I played.

I "couldn't" play this game now but I don't mind playing "old" games if they're reasonably or good mind challenging. Every year passing I'm missing great games like today but I'm a 1 or 2 max game player at the same time excepting the simulator ones that I play anytime I want, I just play, no levelling. Pure play.

By that time, someone must have started or is starting to develop a new kind of technology. Computers by then should already be simulating non-virtual graphics.
