Great to see that old heli fly. You did a great job. Typical of RC, Sh*t happens! I have hit plenty of wires in my time, but not with helis. Sorry to see that and I know that sinking feeling. Hang in there and glad it wasn't too bad. ~NightFlyyer~
@NightFlyyer Not bad at all, it is already flying again but I had to use fully symmetrical blades this time and cut them down. I have only hovered in ground effect but I think it should be ok.
I have come a long way if you look at my first video of my mfa sport 500 i did not have a clu, if you look at my other heli videos you can see i fly much safer now lol
If you can fly the MFA 500 FP you can fly any heli! Great achievement to get it flying - sorry about the crash though. Seems like it could have been worse! Look forward to more videos of it flying.
@EvlMagus nice one. I tried the collective head once and didn't get on with it. Perhaps the dampeners were too worn? Anyway, I think this heli works better with the original FP head.
@yeogav I tried to win one on E-Bay but the item was not available to the US. You know parts are still available for this right? look up MFA Como company on line and contact them for a price list. They do not advertise parts and are great to deal with.
@EvlMagus Yes I restored one of these in 2007 and obtained the parts easy enough. Once the single flybar head link snapped in flight and all I could do was watch as it drifted into a thorn bush / hedge. Amazingly no damage and I was able to pull out the helicopter out in one piece with engine still ticking over. New link and away she went again.
@121168 Mine is also original except for a Spektrum radio. I think the battery cam loose but I am not positive. It flew great after I trimed it out though and that is when I lost the signal.
Do any of you guys have a chick? If not ....You are lucky Bastards!

What engine have you got in it?

@yeogav Thanks, I have a OS MAX.46 in it. The crashwas really not that bad. Except for one rotor blade and the canopy everything else was unharmed.
