There you are, Welcome to the real world as it really is! Wow, please don`t start whining like that . x
@mileseng Totally agree. I'd also love to add that I find it darkly amusing that the whole group of presenters start harping on in well established phraseology about the concerns of those same people.
Morrissey can come across as cunt, but only if you're blind to what's going on around us. In my opinion, he's deliberately provocative. But also pragmatic. Most jobs in the UK are a waste of time. It's mostly public sector, white collar, soul destroying, irrelevant, shite paying work. Then again, pretty much all jobs in the UK come with appalling salaries. I left the UK at the beginning of 2012. I hope to never become unfortunate enough to return. I hate it.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Ah Morrissey, saying what all working people think people on the dole think. Yeah thanks. He's got a point though, it would appear there is more benefit to benefits than work.
The first minute is ten minutes is tentitive arse licking, the rest is Morrissey humouring the others because he has put a lot more thought in to his beliefs then anybody else in that studio irrespective of whether he is right or wrong. Shit show that skims the surface of issues that need much deeper exploration which is why this program is infuriating and which is why i was suprised that he turned up!
My god Adrian Chiles looks and sounds like an overgrown, deformed slug. And my wardrobe is more interesting than Christine Bleakley. No wonder these two got shit-canned, they're absolutely useless.
"We'd all have to sympathise with the white collar workers who've only ever really enjoyed success and have had no experience with going through........"
"Therefore why sympathise with them?" EXACTLY. You know what I don't get about this video? Is why does that 'Adrian' (or whatever his name is guy) look at Morrisey with disgust when he says that!? They've only ever enjoyed success. HELLO? welcome to the real world you fucking yuppies. Greedy FUCKING BANKERS.

morrisseys 100 percent right virtually everythins fucked now..yer cant do fuck all anymore....without someone squealing about it....lets go back in time morrissey.
@moewishaw Johnny Marr was the member who left The Smiths first. The band lacked a consistent manager, and under pressure to record/release another single, led to Johnny handling all of the administrative duties. Which in turn led heavy consumption of alcohol/drugs, until one day he just couldn't take any more. That's why The Smiths broke up. Not because of Morrissey at all. Albeit, top band!
As if blue collar workers don't have kids and bills. Fuck's sake. Bunch of wankers the lot of them. Except Morrissey. The first time I've ever heard him speak and I've tonnes of respect for him.
" You have to sympathise with the white collar workers who've only ever enjoyed success". Did I really just hear that? Get that conservative toff off the air. He speaks for no one.
Morrissey is controversial. Provocative. People say his voice ruins the Smiths. I personally think it adds what is needed. However, I would say that this mainly rings true to me just when it comes to the studio and albums and not so much live. But thats just me. Smiths! I dig it..
I love Morrissey but surely the reality for a lot of people is it doesn't matter whether you like your job or not, you have to do it otherwise your kids don't get fed, mortgages don't get paid...?
I think the guy's a genius but don't agree with him on that.
"there wasnt a job i wanted to do, so i didnt do any" what a guy, i dont for one minute believe in living off the dole but at least he didnt just say "yeah, its awful, everyone should work". only heroes say their true opinion, no matter the circumstances
@JaackMitchell I don't know if I'd go so far as hero (nor would Morrisey I feel as he probably knows what it means), but he certainly has integrity and is honest about what he does reveal about himself.
@Silvergoldstarfish He went through a phase of calling himself "asexual" but never really revealed what sexual orientation he was. Johnny Marr said that he's had relationships with both men and women, but hates both of them now. I think he called himself the fourth gender, standard Morrisey really
At last! a job that you don't want to do. I rest my case, i got made redundent from a pretty good goverment job and when i have to sign on every two weeks on a thursday at redhill job centre and they break my ball trying to set me up in crap cleaning jobs and other shit and people wonder why i get pissed at the UK, and i'm anglo, indigenous. F**k this place
Magic from Morrissey.....I can't stand my shitty job either. People consider working in a crappy office a "career" these days. A musician, heart surgeon or an artist has a career....a cunt sitting at a desk selling insurance doesn't have a career.....it's a pointless, meaningless job.....once you accept that, it becomes easier!
I'm like that at work. People try to draw me into a conversation, I say something mildly controversial and insensitive and then they move on to talk to someone else more "chatty."
If this was just any guy you'd call him a cunt, why is it different because it's morrissey? If you think that this is funny i hope you get hit by a car.
it's like me trying to explain that to my mum; goes right over her head. they can't see anothers point of view, the norm is what they're used to and blind to everything else or anything 'weird'
Morrissey exposing the useless and brainless white collar positions that people hold which bare them into debt and deplete the worlds resources in a wasteful manner.
I betcha Morrisey's back on The One Show before fat fuck. I reckon Mozza might even be presenting it before the Lord of Lard even gets an invite back to clean the toilets.
He's not being awkward, he's just not being a sheep. He's allowed to have his own opinions and if they don't agree with the 'norms' of society that doesn't make him awkward, just makes YOU ignorant.
When asked should he be sorry for white collar workers who never actually had to do real labor, as one would do in a factory, he said, "Well, why sympothise with them?" If they only had it good from the start. It just came out wrong. If I followed anyone around with a camera recording every word you said a lot of it would probably sound stupid, as most of what I say during an average day is sounds stupid.
I love that choked moment when Moz tells the truth and they all retract his words so vapidly and trample over what would be a thoughtful interlude to trot out the party line in such insincere voices.
how exactly is this awkward? is it purely the fact that these days, the people who don't play along with some false persona instantly fall into this category? weird...different...or perhaps, just, self assured.
Thing is people might object to him having been on the dole previously and not wanting to work. But it paid off big time and the treasury has probably made more money out of him now than it would have done had he just got an office job.
@simonsaintgilles Given his current status as a tax exile however, it shows he isn't entirely happy to repay the Treasury. Nobody should be pushed into work, not wanting to is entirely their choice, but in return I don't think they can expect that money be taken away from the working to provide for them. Morrissey did, and since becoming rich has complained about the concept of taxes and done his best to avoid them, he's the kind of man who wants to have his cake and eat it too.
"No, I've never had a job ... because I've never wanted one"
There's a second part to this interview where moz is sitting next to the canonical berk. You can see the exact moment Morrissey starts wishing for death.
I have a lot of respect for him, The main reason for this is that he suckered all his fans into buying what was basically shite! (his words I might add) He is now very rich and lives a life in the U.S.A that he slammed throughout his early career.
Morrisey was being direct and honest to begin with but what I take exception to is him saying why should we feel sympathy for people who choose to work. People have to work due to a basic necessity because they want to afford the things that make things easier on their families if they are married etc. Not everyone is fortunate enough to be talented musicians like him who go on to make a fortune! The man does himself no favours with his arrogant and ignorant comment!
'Were all in trouble for one reason or a another'.Nice comment and a very canny observation.Morrissey is obviously clued in to the orwellian nightmare we are currently being forced to live under.
"morrissey talking sense" would be a more appropriate title

Also, seeing him here he reminds me an awful lot of George Best in his looks, although obviousley completely different characters.

I admire morrisey for never feeling he has to play ball and not taking the line of least resistance like most of us

What is Morrissey even doing on this programme... Putting him in the same room as as that annoying cunt Adrian Chiles is not exactly genius.
