Black-Ops is only popular due to the games in the series before it. The reason CoD is so popular is because almost anyone can pick it up and do well in an extremely short period of time. It doesn't take practice.
That's not to say that Black-Ops is a bad game, it's certain;y superior to MW2 in almost every wall (except campaign, the BO campaign sucks).
I wish some youtubers would take notice of Need for Speed. The old ones are really amazing games (especially Hot Pursuit 2).
The only part of the game that didnt make me want to grab the disc and poor holy water over hit until it disolves, was the campiagn, everything else sucked.

I agree with you TotalBiscuit, the only reason im playing Black Ops atm is until the summer come so that I can play Wow for worth my money. It still is a good game (and even better with friends) but like you said, it cane still be a waste of time. Cause im finding myself along most of the time just trying to prestige again. Black Ops frustrates me so much sometimes. WoW very rarely frustrates me.

One thing just about everyone gets when they first see minecraft is "How could a game with such horrible graphics be addicting?" It's what i felt and yet, i find myself playing it almost 24/7. Then again, it was made by one guy, which is amazing, its still beta, but over a million people bought it which is just amazing. Graphics are an important thing, but what mostly matters is the game play, but you can't judge that unless you've tried the game.
TotalHalibut, I love your videos, I watched them all the time when you were doing The Cataclysm Beta, I also agree with you on Black ops. I use to love it when it came out but now I think of it as just another shooter, becasue I dont really enjoy anything about it anymore (p.s I am not trying to start a war with BO lovers!) It seems like they went from small to large weapons as in range. Besides pistol because they screw up what I'm thinking about it goes from close range to longer range up to snipers. Then the shit hits the fan when you bring out the rockets and special weps.

Have to agree there, BC2 is fun when you have a voice chat or when your teammates are very very very skilled. Remember a game of Vietnam where they almost got to the MCom but we managed to hold the line so that they run out of tickets, we didn't talk we just played well as a team and that is what you rarely see in Black Ops for example.
The only game that is practically _forcing_ you to talk and not type to your teammates is Left 4 Dead 2 Realism Versus.

Wow, a video criticizing Black Ops and everyone's pissed off about it's light shot at Minecraft.
Everything went better than expected.
Oh, and I don't think TB was saying Minecraft is a bad game, he's just pointing out the massive numbers of vids about it on YouTube, almost more than Blops.
I actually like BC2 better than Blops all around. The experience is best when you're in a cooridated team, but even if you lone wolf it, at least the game encourages you to fight realistically.

I don't really think it sucks, I was more agreeing with the idea that COD is ruining the gaming industry because all people want now is mindless FPS games. Also, using popularity to measure the quality of a game is a logical fallacy.

One thing just about everyone gets when they first see minecraft is "How could a game with such horrible graphics be addicting?" It's what i felt and yet, i find myself playing it almost 24/7. Then again, it was made by one guy, which is amazing, its still beta, but over a million people bought it which is just amazing. Graphics are an important thing, but what mostly matters is the game play, but you can't judge that unless you've tried the game.

TotalHalibut, I love your videos, I watched them all the time when you were doing The Cataclysm Beta, I also agree with you on Black ops. I use to love it when it came out but now I think of it as just another shooter, becasue I dont really enjoy anything about it anymore (p.s I am not trying to start a war with BO lovers!) But I have to disagree with your title, I accually love Minecraft, I think it is amazing. With aspect that you can do pretty much whatever you want and it never gets old.

Why did the developers give this game such a realistic setting when it's got such an unrealistic combat system?
Im not referring to the weapon tiers, btw. I mean you don't stay on open ground in a bloody combat zone. Yet it seems to work great for TB.

I do like how TB doesn't sugar-coat it, act like it's the best game that he's ever played when it clearly isn't, etc. etc. etc.
Quite honestly, it isn't a very good game, and I'm not sure why there are so many raging-hard fans out there who are like "OMG COD IS THE BEST!" It really isn't...IMO, CoD4 was pretty god, WaW was just a WW2 version of CoD4, MW2 was a horrible, god-awful attempt to improve CoD4, and BO is a somewhat successful attempt. But none of them are the end-all, best games eve

It seems like they went from small to large weapons as in range. Besides pistol because they screw up what I'm thinking about it goes from close range to longer range up to snipers. Then the shit hits the fan when you bring out the rockets and special weps.

@CenkIsAdorable I will agree with that. I've discussed the subject. Honestly i think this game has a place in the world, well i know it does, however it just doesn't impress me. I've played enough of the games and i would guess that the first two would be better. But getting to the point yeah it's a popular game. Not what i would consider a good game. Keyword being "I" though. I think it's the unlocking part of it that has people hooked.

Have to agree there, BC2 is fun when you have a voice chat or when your teammates are very very very skilled. Remember a game of Vietnam where they almost got to the MCom but we managed to hold the line so that they run out of tickets, we didn't talk we just played well as a team and that is what you rarely see in Black Ops for example.
The only game that is practically _forcing_ you to talk and not type to your teammates is Left 4 Dead 2 Realism Versus.

@Desteni36 It's how GunGame works; the tiers are more commonly acronymed "levels". When you get a kill with your current level weapon, you advance one tier/level and get a new weapon.
