@tresMercedes Hardly racist in my mind. It's a dry humor attempt at explaning a pleasant and unusual situation with an obvious language barrier. I don't think the surfers or the narrator lacked any respect for the people in this region.

OMG, does there ALWAYS have to be someone out there playing the racist card over absolutely every single thing?? It's really getting so old and so over-used. All I saw was people of different cultures trying to communicate with each other somehow since the language barrier kept them from talking. That's it. Nothing else. No veiled racism, just normal human communication without words going on. Geez!

@macmere52 someone always calls out racism (or a more accurate term white supremacy) because whether you acknowledge it or not exists impacting everyone everyday. the narrator spoke from a place of privilege, cockiness, arrogance, and very conceited. Described the Africans with low respect and lack of understanding their customs. im sure the natives treated the surfers with great hospitality and if they saw this and how they were being described, they be offended like i am too.
