  • no tri-fins, no leashes, cadillac wheels were "brand new" & you surfed/skated/partied because it was fun, not for the money or recognition.

  • what a bunch of assholes. fuck these people

  • Fuck you cock bang hippies!!! I surf inside your mom's cunt you wave whore strumpets.

  • wat song is that at the beginning

  • 1:28 = steroids!

  • Jay Adams threw the piece of the engine out in the water

  • im from venice and the reason we dont like kooks comin in is cause we dont like em crowdin up our beaches

we dont care if your a world class surfer or not

you dont come into our spot

thats whats going to get your ass kicked

  • fat white 9 yr old kid who wishes he surfes??

  • why is your name snowblow9 if you live in venice

  • what if im from australia, and i went over there, am i still classed as a kook?

  • Locals are shit.

Don't you surf anywhere else, cause you won't be a local there.... maybe thous locals should treat you like shit.

  • "our beaches"

    did u buy it?

  • WHERE IS THIS AT?

  • Venice "Dogtown", CA

    It's near Santa Monica.

Although I'm pretty sure they tore the pier down.

You probably wouldn't be welcome anyway, it's seriously a local's only place.

You have to know some people before you get a little respect there.

But a lot of history. It's where skating blew up first in the '70's.

  • @thenewpunkrockkid that's not true. skateboarding blew up all over socal.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork Hey, uh, bro. Venice beach is in SoCal. It's to the west of Los Angeles, north of Long Beach, and south of Malibu. Look it up on Google Maps if you don't believe me, but it's pretty much the heart of southern California.

  • @thenewpunkrockkid I said ALL over and most of it was done in orange county, south bay(redondo, hermosa), etc. Duane peters and steve olson were the first punk rock and hardcore skaters. they brought the crazy ideas, not these long haired posers.

btw what a shitty soundtrack. clearly a hippie movie.

meanwhile olson and peters were skating to the ramones and the germs.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork Redondo and Hermosa are pretty much right below Venice... They're ~10 mi down the beach, which isn't very far at all. Yeah, those guys are good and I like that they listened to punk, but dude face facts. Stacy Peralta MADE the Bones Brigade, the team that birthed Tommy Gurrero, Tony Hawk, Mike McGill, and Rodney Mullen. Tony Alva for a while owned one of the most successful board companies. Jay Adams was as punk and hardcore as Duane and Steve. The Z Boys weren't hippies.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork And the bottom line is everyone has their own style, their own flow and their own music they listen to. These guys were some of the most influential skaters ever, you really can't deny that. And if you do, wake up. But in the end, just go out there and fucking skate and surf. Don't reply man, there's no point.

  • @thenewpunkrockkid <---------------FUCKING MORON,

What I hate about idiot cock polishers like you, ones that just eat up whatever some hippie fuckcrap documentary says is that you haven't nary a fucking clue as to how it was. All you have to go on is some lame ass hippie faggot film.

The hardcore skaters were from the south bay and OC and they skated to punk rock, not the faggot shit in this doc.

    Know your role, bitch.

  • @TheNewMusicNetwork Dude, would you just shut up? Jesus Christ you're an idiot. Piss off retard, you're stinking up the earth. ,|,, ,,|,

  • omg that's fckinn Achilles Last Stand!! bad ass!!

  • the first song is godzilla by blue oyster cult

    great song :)

  • what is the first song??

    dgotown rules!!locals only!!jay adams rocks

  • ~LOCALS ONLY~ no kooks, bennies, or barneys allowed.

  • _HB LOCALS ONLY_ fuck dumbass people from crazy ass towns and from others states going to the beach like they have been there their whole life

  • @skaterocknroll no goons, beaners, afro-bozos or hawaiin turds either.

  • fucken z boys 70s skate only

  • gracias por subir esto!!!!!!!saludos...pazz

  • Wet back language? What's wrong with that jsuprems you cock smoker. For your information Alva is mexican and Peralta is a quarter mexican.

  • I have great respect for surfers, but I think the territory thing is a little childish. If someone tried to injure or kill me just because I was trying to surf on public waters they considered their own I'd fucking murder them.

  • i agree

  • you idiot, they only want locals there because there was pilings everywhere and only real experienced people could surf there, or the people who actually know everything about that beach, they didnt want random people who didnt know jack shit about that beach let alone surfing too shit, those guys who came who werent even local could easily get some guys hurt, the end up doing stupid shit, they dont want it to be an overrated shit spot

  • Fuck you. Don't start of a reply with "you idiot" and expect to get a nice response. Jerkoff. So locals were the only experienced surfers? lol That's a fucking stupid statement. None of these guys are even in the class of the worlds best surfers, so I imagine a lot of the "outsiders" out-surfed the locals. I'm sure there were plenty of idiots that weren't experienced enough to surf there but tried, but many just outdid the locals and this pissed them off. Truth

  • OK Mcfly! lol

  • @ApocalypticMetalHead z-boys = hippie fags.

the hardcore surfers and skaters were in the south bay and oc. fact

  • Amen

  • These guys are most definatly my fuckin heros.

  • the narrator is sean penn who was spocolie in fast times at ridge mont high wierd

  • Oh GNARLY!

  • they fight anybody

  • anyone no the song???

  • godzilla- blue oyster cult

  • pacific ocean park peir and it was in venice

  • whats this pier called and what city was it in?

  • crazy fuckers!!!!

  • That would be a neat trick to kick someones ass over the internet

  • Why some one needs a hug...... Ass Hole =)

  • Sorry I did not meen to be mean =(

  • Very inspiring - I'm going to go throw some tiles at people right now!

  • my dad sufed there

  • i saw this movie and was blown away, far and away one of the BEST doc's on alternative sports of all time. Peralta does a fine job of mixing current people with past footage and the stories behind it. "Riding Giants" is another great example of this. Peralta needs to do more docs, he and Ken Burns are my 2 favorite doc movie makers.

  • sweet it owns

  • Im gonna go rent this video tomorrow for the tenth time thanks

  • Im going to go rent this AGAIN tomorrow. Thanks

  • about two hours long

  • Such a great documentry movie from these original guys
