  • how can this video not have at least 250 million views ?!

  • check out the 1990 argentina version of cocaine, 70.000 opeople singing it, kicks ass (aka the best version ever)

  • I have both of these DVDs and its awesome.

  • Thumbs up if u think that god mode starts at 1:12.

  • You said it, " The best version of Cocaine ever."

  • great version of this song....been trying to find out where i can download it for a few years now,i remember one time i was successful recording this file and putting it to cd,,but to no avail i lost it when my last computer went to shit :(

  • I can't take Claptons solo right here ...that thing where you can hear 3 or 4 notes on top? awsome

  • 6-string bass FTW!

  • Bramhall was amazing...I was there

  • I WAS THERE! AWESOME

  • Too damned fast for my liking...

I grew up on Clapton and let's face it, he owns it.

This I can't identify with. Eric has been a big influence on me, part of the reason I started playing in 1980 when I was 13.

This is not "Cocaine" but then again he owns it and like everyone else goes through changes.

  • At time 2:36 he made a little mistake, He forgot to stop with the break of the group. Happens in live concerts, but great !

  • simply... masterful.

  • Who says Les Pauls are way better than Strats

  • i just realized... Eric Clapton is pretty old... i feel as if hes the same age and that the gray hair is just his look.. lol

  • Definitely the best version I've heard. So much energy, hard energy. Fantastic super rock version. I saw Clapton live several times but this particular version is awsome. Nothing beats classic rock songs from the 70s!

  • I guess it's only appropriate, but Clapton plays this version like he's on cocaine - incredible energy, no subtlety. My favorite live version of just about any song is the "Cocaine" on "Just One Night" - that thing is sick and twisted aviator sunglasses genius '70's Clapton.

  • genial!!! buen tema de clapton desde chile

  • totally agree with u ^^ and btw the organist FTW ^^ !!!!!!!

  • i don't know how he does it, but clapton blows my mind... everytime :)

  • I have to say this on every DB II performance: he is a blues rock guitar god and a sex god and, along with 20 year old Jimmy Bowskill, gives me huge hope for the future of blues rock genre ! ! Yummmmmmy ! ! !

  • This is the best solo I've heard out of Clapton since his killer duet with Carl Perkins on Mean Woman Blues. That performance is also on youtube and is a must-see!

If Eric would do a whole album of nothing but THIS type of blues-rock, it would be his biggest album in years! Forget the mellow pop crap for once Eric and get back in the studio for a rockin blues jam!

  • Clapton's solo is a true masterpiece!

  • Yes that's Mr Clapton........Crawl!!

  • man ....the tone on this one

  • EC IS GOD!!

  • How nice to see so many comments who all agree.. the man GOT BLUES, and dey is the baad kine.. real bad. rock on withe them dirty low down blues Mr Clapton!!

  • No one ever mentions Eric's voice - it's just keeps getting better with age!!!!!

  • @EclecticDog It's the cigaretts and wiskey xD

  • @bull862 Clapton has been sober for a while.

  • good one Bramhall!

  • i love all of his randomly painted strats theyre so retro

  • They say Robert Johnson went down the the cross roads and sold his soul to the devil for his remarkable playing abillity. I think Clapton must have went down to the same cross roads. Hail to the blues stringgers.

  • @mrwindsorpodomous nah man...Clapton is just God :D that's the only explanation why he plays so good. Hail to the gods of blues.

  • kids these days need to put down the guitar hero game and pay attention to what a true guitar hero really is. This is what playing guitar is really all about.

  • 2:21 - cant feel face.

  • FEATURED STEVE GADD& NATHERN EAST

  • Clapton Genio!! no te mueras nunca!

  • the guitar solo at the end along with the excellent bass phrases superr ..

  • The is awesome. Also, to the poster who feels thaat 95% of today's kids listen to crappy pop songs, I have a message of hope; my daughter and all of her generation are FULLY aware of our musical heritage. They know that the s**t that gets pushed down their throat today is corporate pulp. Meanwhile, they're all privately paying homage to The Beatles and Pink Flloyd and secretly envious of the generation that produced such ass-kciking music.

  • that lefty is quite odd. he has a left handed body with upside down strings...

probably learnt on an inverted righthanded guitar.

  • That opening note of Clapton's solo gets me every time.

  • you say lady gaga, i say Led Zeppelin

you say hannah montana, i say AC\DC

you say owl city, i say Deep Purple

you say jonas brothers, i say The Rolling Stones

you say justin bieber, i say The Beatles

you say taylor swift, i say guns & roses.

95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop songs over and over. if your one of the 5% left who still listen to real music, thunb this up, then copy and paste it to At least 5 video's.

  • The second solo is also properly designed and clean played, but as we make a comparison by the standard of clapton's performance, the latter is obviously not equally powerful and effective. Maybe it is partially due to the tone color and volume of his guitar, partially because - more importantly i think - the soloist did not express the notes enough clearly and emphatically.

  • @zhanywpku lol what??? its not about all that. its about the soul you put in to it. and in my opinion he make his guitar sing like an angel.

  • ifffy

  • jagethemage i dont usually post on youtube but shut the fuck up. when i see you up there with clapton we will talk. bramhall is one of the best modern guitarists. i dont give a fuck if he plays a sears acoustic with one string hes prob gonna b better than you. thankyou and goodnight

  • what the hell is with these backup guitar kids left handing a righty guitar? first roger waters, now clapton? i just dont get it.. hendrix is dead man. go buy a lefty, im sure u have the cash

  • @Jagethemage its a lefty dumbass....

  • @MyWilldo

Poor video quality, but, no, it's not. The strings are backwards (instead of EADGBE it goes EBGDAE), so it's a righty played upside down.

Regardless, who gives a fuck, it's an excellent solo and an excellent guitarist, who gives a shit what type of guitar he's playing :p

  • @ashhel5 look at the headstock bud

  • Dude just repaid all of the audiences that saw him on a bad night prior to EC getting his shit together. King of the rocking blues.

  • ERIC FREAKING CLAPTON!!! That was so hot, MY fingers blistered!!

  • SUPER HOT...EC ON FIRE THIS NIGHT

  • Hey dude? Can you peel my face off the wall? cuz that just blew my mind.

  • i think clapton musta been high during this performance... seems kinda sloppy

  • Definitely one of the best live solos I have ever heard from Clapton!! And Doyle's solo is from another planet...crazy beautiful!!!! Very inspiring!

  • Can't remember the name og lefty guitarist who played that great lead guitar solo !

  • listen to the organ solo...EXCEPT listen to clapton...the riff CHANGES...to GLORIOUSNESS...or a beauty changup to the orignial cocaine riff

  • This is definitely nice but I wish Gibsons weren't heavy as #@$# because I sure do miss his tones from the Cream days.

  • Am I the only one who finds it odd that he's singing this song at a festival to benefit a drug rehab center?

  • i knew my friend i knew

  • @andreetje1964

i knew what you mean my friend thnx for your reply

clapton was god , they yelled in the 60 s . your ok .

  • Questo si che vuol dire avere maestria con la chitarra !!!!! grande Clapton!!!!

  • slowhand ??? f**k you ......

  • @andreetje1964 trust me, he is a slowhand, but dont see it negative, if you become such a big guitarist as him as a slow hand... wauw

  • jeez it seemed like he aged alot in like 5 years

  • holy cocaine!

  • EC's Strat looks like Sunny and Blackie had a baby.

  • @WhiteCamry LOL TOO FUNNY man :)

I never looked at it that way b-4... Now its the only way i CAN look at it LOL...

I beleave he named this strat CRASH ( But i could be wrong )

  • The was probably his best conecerts EVER.

  • Banging Solo....Thanks Eric

  • cocaine just doesn't work for me anymore. makes me cold and irritable. what's the point.

  • the sounds that must be bouncing arounds claptons head ... fucking legend.. like him or not u got to admit this is a fucking killa tune.

  • holy crap.... he is AWESOME live!

  • che performance !!!!!eric clapton è sempre eric clapton

  • fai paura...

  • best version ...

  • hd live of this song in my count!

  • Clapton ... the best guitariste on the world !!

  • this is my tune... amazing simply amazing...

  • It is great!!!

  • At the beginning of clapton's solo he looks like he's having an orgasm...then again he can look however he wants...he is God after all....

  • if you was there you know thats this concert is the best!!!!

  • I listen this song last night in Belgrade Arena.... He's a king... :))))

  • also, Bramhall's solo is fucking SICK.

  • @robdorg Clapton's also :D OMG he ROCKS!!!!

  • @robdorg gotta admit it is fuckin' awesome...idk why but I like Claptons solo better...

  • @robdorg Sorry you feel that way... Perhaps you can listen to your rap music and get a better feel for something other than historical knowldedge that goes with clapton and cres

  • blistering.

  • Cocaine as Procol Harum would have performed it. No offense intended. It has been done more convincingly before this.

  • During this time and for this show Clapton was using a Cornell Custom 80 all tube amplifier which was replacement for the low-power Fender tweed Twins that had previously been built by John Suhr when he was at Fender, which replaced Erics original modified vintage , dual rectifier Twin.

  • 3:06 I love his voice!

  • Damn! That's all I can say--DAMN!!!

  • When you have a band that includes Steve Gadd, Nathan East, Greg Phillinganes and Doyle Bramhall, then your concert is bound to be kick-ass!

Beautiful solos in this piece too, Clapton and Phillinganes produce some really amazing riffs out there...

  • @tritonboy13

It isnt Greg Phillinganes!!! It's Billy Preston! ;)

  • i need to learn this solo

  • this is def the best solo cocaine performance ive seen too, i totaly agree, he must of done a lil COCAINE before the stage entrance

  • doyle did good work in the background nice sound

  • Is him playing through a Tube Screamer?

  • saludos desde coatza mex. eric es un monstruo

  • i agree..best version EVER!!!

  • look at him, hanging out on stage, in cargo shorts, just like a regular dude..... but he is not a regular dude....he is god....he is clapton amen

  • @stripervince1 he is a normal dude^^

  • awesome!

  • years of drugs made clapton a god never will be a picker like him. rock, soul, blues the man does it all

  • His guitar is just amazing!!!!!! He really knows how to make a strat scream!

    but i miss blackie...

    Clapton is god

  • cant wait for crossroads 2010!

  • Yes that's Mr Steve Gadd........Bow your head!!

  • I really think Eric uses the Strat mid-boost to overdrive the front end of his Marshall amp but, the pedal wasn't really a VOX Clyde but the Slov-ct300 from The factory on Henderson in Arkansas

  • Tube amps sound distorted when they're turned up loud, and his mid-boost on top of that makes it sound like distortion.

  • where to find this awesome...this same version..please tell me folks!!

  • isn't that steve gadd on the drums? looks so much like him

  • I was told he doesn't perform this song anymore because of his own history with drugs. I guess this video would indicate that that's not true?

  • Only one E.C. nice one Mr Clapton. Pity you dont do more of your riffs, or am I looking and listening in the wrong places?

  • Kinda "noisy", but pretty good. Wonder why the left-handed guitar player strings his guitar with the thick strings down low, and the thin strings up top. Though the cutaways on the guitar body look like it's cut for a left hander.

  • I agree. best version of cocaine. ever.

  • Best "Cocaine" ever!

  • who are the back up singers?

  • AMAZING!

  • anyone knows if this version has been released on record?

  • what a song !!! I wanna break everything !!!! què rica canciòn !!! quiero destrozar todo....mierrrrrrrrrrrda !!!!!!!

  • like he is giving a workshop for all the famous guitar players backstage haha ! damn this shit is off thé hook !!!! must indeed be the best version of cocaine , Doyle is also brilliant !

  • Who is the left handed guitarist with the strat at 4:38? This is one of the best live performances I have seen with Clapton plus a fantastic band backing him up. Thanks for posting!

  • He's Doyle Bramhall II

  • @BluQuartz Yeah he's Doyle Bramhall II and you must see him with "ROGER WATERS in the flesh-live" DVD

  • who's the other guitar player? he's nowhere near as good as clapton, but he's still great.

  • @boss302transam doyle bramhall 2

  • i dont know him but what he does is greater than Clapton, he sets his guitar as a right handed player, never seen it before!!. Vould EC be able to play with Hendrix 'guitar ? however i'm a Clapton addict

  • @picru1

    It's like flipping a right-handed guitar.

There lead guitarist for Roger Waters (or former) did (or does) this.

  • She don't lie!

  • Am i seeing things??? Clapton's actually kicking ass for a change - whoah! i love it!!!

  • Boy, was he feelin' it! I don't get how people can say Clapton has stagnated since the 60's..

  • ive never heard anyone say that, he's still got it :P

  • @silentbrew who cares, there's only about 11 of them!

  • Ericis the greatest. Still he is.

    And he'll ever be.

  • this and that smell are the best anti drug songs ever

  • sorry but that other guys solo doesnt come close to claptons...he got some cool notes but is nowhere near the technical ability of clapton's. Doyle complements the show for sure, but dominates??? not so much

  • @bluesjamman You've got that one right! That's my idol, right there! Pure soul and dirty, dirty sound!

  • from where on earth do eric clapton bring out these fantastic solos??

    it's still a mystery to me !!

  • @guipranav

    It's easy when you're god.

  • @guipranav

I think he actually blew some lines for the first time in 30 years... So he ripped a massive solo from the huge euphoria rush.... imo

  • @guipranav His heart and Soul is where.

  • @guipranav from his heart! the man is a genius, i used to say that Mayer was the next clapton when he came out with the John Mayer Trio album when he played a bunch of blues and then he went back to that stupid pop shit. Doyle Brahmal is the next clapton

  • @Hutch32 Doyle is the closest thing you can come to hendrix without sounding fake... He knows his roots but still takes it forward.

  • Not really "BJaron17", i dont think its in utube but u SHOULD check cocaine version at the live album with jeff beck!

  • best cocaine solo ever

  • say what u want but the old cocaine vocals were muuuuuuuuuuuch more like the song still cool solo

  • It's just so incredible, what more can i say....

  • this really is the best version of the song i've ever heard...well done by the band as a whole

  • Clapton jut gets better with age.

  • It might not be good news for shredders, but feel will never go out of fashion. These guitarists aren't trying to play fast or impress anybody: They're just expressing what the blues/rock is all about - FEELING(SOUL).

  • i play lefthanded guitar : )

  • I couldnt agree more with MRSN1P3RGUY!

  • whats the other guitarist name??

    the lefthanded one??

  • doyle bramhall

  • what? he had some cool notes but by no means was it anywhere near claptons solo

  • All you new guitarists that play that new emo metal bull shit, take note of this guys or gals. That's how a guitar is played motherfuckers.

  • holy shit Clapton is on fire!!

  • awesome solo. I think I'm gonna attempt to learn it.

  • claptons solo is utterly fantastic. i assume he had to have it layed down before playing this....that cant be pure improve..even for clapton

  • no way dude thats all clapton

  • No, he's improvising. Some people claim Clapton is 'Clapped out'. Could these same people get up there and solo like this? I very much doubt it...

  • Anyone able to tell me what overdrive pedal he's using, if any?

  • just a wah wah and maybe a rotovibe but no overdrive
