great version of this song....been trying to find out where i can download it for a few years now,i remember one time i was successful recording this file and putting it to cd,,but to no avail i lost it when my last computer went to shit :(
Definitely the best version I've heard. So much energy, hard energy. Fantastic super rock version. I saw Clapton live several times but this particular version is awsome. Nothing beats classic rock songs from the 70s!
I guess it's only appropriate, but Clapton plays this version like he's on cocaine - incredible energy, no subtlety. My favorite live version of just about any song is the "Cocaine" on "Just One Night" - that thing is sick and twisted aviator sunglasses genius '70's Clapton.
I have to say this on every DB II performance: he is a blues rock guitar god and a sex god and, along with 20 year old Jimmy Bowskill, gives me huge hope for the future of blues rock genre ! ! Yummmmmmy ! ! !
This is the best solo I've heard out of Clapton since his killer duet with Carl Perkins on Mean Woman Blues. That performance is also on youtube and is a must-see!
If Eric would do a whole album of nothing but THIS type of blues-rock, it would be his biggest album in years! Forget the mellow pop crap for once Eric and get back in the studio for a rockin blues jam!
How nice to see so many comments who all agree.. the man GOT BLUES, and dey is the baad kine.. real bad. rock on withe them dirty low down blues Mr Clapton!!
They say Robert Johnson went down the the cross roads and sold his soul to the devil for his remarkable playing abillity. I think Clapton must have went down to the same cross roads. Hail to the blues stringgers.
kids these days need to put down the guitar hero game and pay attention to what a true guitar hero really is. This is what playing guitar is really all about.
The is awesome. Also, to the poster who feels thaat 95% of today's kids listen to crappy pop songs, I have a message of hope; my daughter and all of her generation are FULLY aware of our musical heritage. They know that the s**t that gets pushed down their throat today is corporate pulp. Meanwhile, they're all privately paying homage to The Beatles and Pink Flloyd and secretly envious of the generation that produced such ass-kciking music.
95% of teens these days listen to the same crappy pop songs over and over. if your one of the 5% left who still listen to real music, thunb this up, then copy and paste it to At least 5 video's.
The second solo is also properly designed and clean played, but as we make a comparison by the standard of clapton's performance, the latter is obviously not equally powerful and effective. Maybe it is partially due to the tone color and volume of his guitar, partially because - more importantly i think - the soloist did not express the notes enough clearly and emphatically.
jagethemage i dont usually post on youtube but shut the fuck up. when i see you up there with clapton we will talk. bramhall is one of the best modern guitarists. i dont give a fuck if he plays a sears acoustic with one string hes prob gonna b better than you. thankyou and goodnight

I really think Eric uses the Strat mid-boost to overdrive the front end of his Marshall amp but, the pedal wasn't really a VOX Clyde but the Slov-ct300 from The factory on Henderson in Arkansas
Kinda "noisy", but pretty good. Wonder why the left-handed guitar player strings his guitar with the thick strings down low, and the thin strings up top. Though the cutaways on the guitar body look like it's cut for a left hander.
"sorry but that other guys solo doesnt come close to claptons...he got some cool notes but is nowhere near the technical ability of clapton's. Doyle complements the show for sure, but dominates??? not so much"

I grew up on Clapton and let's face it, he owns it.
This I can't identify with. Eric has been a big influence on me, part of the reason I started playing in 1980 when I was 13.
This is not "Cocaine" but then again he owns it and like everyone else goes through changes.
