I certainly learnt far more from books at home and the internet than I did in classrooms. In addition in school I was bullied for "using long words", and for being English (I live in Wales).

If you allow women to control their own reproduction, you allow them to decide how affluent they are likely to be.
I promise you, most of those women didn't have a passel of kids for the fun of it. They didn't have a choice.

It varies from Muslim country to Muslim country. Some places allow no reproductive choice, some limit it, some are western in their standards and practices.
Notice that poverty, not religion, is generally the determining factor in family size.
