And if you listen to a few of his performances its apparent and amazing how naturally he plays just what he hears. Much more rare and interesting and in the spirit of jazz than the hoards of jazz robots out there trying to play charlie parker even faster than charlie parker did...

and yes i have gone fro playing several hours of my bass to my trumpet and have gotten a good tone...its not hard...it two diferent muscles you are using....all you need to do is get the sound you want in your head and achieve it...and 6 hrs of practicing is just as hard as a gig...you should know that since you play all thos instruments....

I can't even hope to say that my musicianship is close to Flea's. However, I am a trumpet performance major.... He has good triple tonguing, but I get the chance to practice a lot more than him (or else I just do) and so much triple tonguing is stronger.

I think this solo is awesome. It's equally impressive to see somone who usually plays something like a bass to really rock out on a much different instrument such as a trumpet. I have read that he STARTED with trumpet, which is cool, but theres nothing more impressive than watching a band live only to see one of its members break out a "not so common" instrument and play it well

you're so stupid. playing the trumpet requires more skill than playing the guitar for this reason: a trumpet requires your face to play. the guitar does not, hence you actually getting worn out from playing the trumpet, not the guitar. the guitarist of the band i'm in was telling me about this, and he said that to him it would seem like the trumpet would be a much harder instrument to play. so quit being an ignorant fuck and go get educated in music somewhere.

Is this particular video the best example of Flea's musicality? No, in my opinion.
