  • Thanks! :D

  • Noisia bass lol, no chance. I think you've found your limits here!

  • Please make a tutorial on the bass from "Whoopi's Back in the habit" by Koven

  • another mediocre tutorial

  • can u do a tutorial for the snare, ive always wanted to make that snare

  • good tutorial.. easy to follow,, for me at least

  • I has no Lunacy wave form??? :(

  • where i can get Lunacy ? ; < I havent this wave in my massive

  • @AdikoZaur Try buying Massive instead of pirating it

  • could you please give us a link to download the patch, mine isn't sounding like yours and im following all the steps exactly right

  • What programme is that at the beginning?

  • This is an awesome tutorial.

  • these tutorials are great. so helpful. could you possibly attempt to recreate snappy 'rolling' bass line in Lazy Rich's track 'Big Fish'? Been trying for So long but just cant get it.

  • change your ableton theme!

  • Great tutorial. Long time D&B producer here and your tutorials even learn me new stuff. Your tutorials are definitely one of the best available on Youtube.

  • I haven't got the Lunacy wavetable :S

  • @YuriNoirProductions

  • PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION PHORTYSIKS!!!!

Where did you get the DNB_LOOP_50 loop that you are using for the drums here?

That snare is so sweeet, and I've been lookng for a sample like that for quite a while!

Could you upload the sample on your website? :) pleeaaase??

  • @voxefilme It's a pretty basic snare. Layer a clap, some natural snare samples, a bit of white noise, and excessive compression and you're done.

  • Comment removed

  • @voxefilme Couldn't agree more. I've been looking for that same snare. Tried layering tom noises over dry snares etc then compressing the shit out of it... sometimes it sounds ok

  • @voxefilme If anyone wants BADASS snares (not the ones that are in my songs), subscribe to me! i'll get you amazing snares just like this, Koan Sound, Skrillex, etc.. Just send me your email and I'll send them.

  • 3340

  • Thank you :)

  • I followed you closely for each step, yet I'm getting a higher pitched sound that has no where near the grit your sound has.

  • @philcara16 Lower octave

  • Nice Video! Very helpful for a ableton beginner :P But I got one question : When I try to re-do the Bass with Massive, the sound is always to high and it doesen't sound like in your Video.. Maybe you know what the problem is? Thanks in Advance :D

  • @sailinginsolitude When your working with massive in ableton you can move up and down octaves by pressing Z and X, if its massive by itself its determined by your lowest oscillator. If its sounds too high, press Z a few times

  • @sailinginsolitude Move down acouple octaves...like for ableton I use Z and X to move up and down octaves

  • @sailinginsolitude: i dont wana make u sound like an idiot or watever because im no genius (as im watchin this) but play an octave lower on the keyboard/piano roll.. try C1 or C0?

  • one of the best tutorials on youtube , you tell us what you really change to the sound, learned alot , thanks !!!!

  • Just a heads up your pitch bends in massive are either both positive or both negative. For up if you want it to go up you need to keep the number positive, likewise, for down if you want it to ACTUALLY go down when you modulate the pitch down in Ableton, the pitch value must be negative.

  • doge and fuski :)

  • All of your tutorials are great! thank you!

  • Disregarding the amazing patch- the simple explanations you made for the functionality of massive helped me so much mate! Cheers!

  • this vid gave me a good start for some crazy Scrapyard patches, thanks again!

  • Fucking RAW! How the hell did you get the drums sounding that fat?!

  • @yourmom09 i have tryed to make my drums that fat.... its all about really having your drums on different frequencies than the bass so they don't fight over the same frequency... and sidechaining the drums to make them louder than the bass

  • @DuBsTePsMyGaMe *tried

  • @DuBsTePsMyGaMe His drums sound EXACTLY like Koan sound. Especially the snare. Wonder if he just sampled out of the song...

  • @yourmom09 either way if you are reading this phortysiks... you should make a tutorial on how to get your drums so crisp and heavy!

  • Thanks!

  • niiice!

  • Thanks a lot mate, not gonna use it but definitely helped for understanding Massive better

  • VERY NICE you have skype? bro

  • Well at least give Dodge and fuski a little credit.. since they made this patch

  • @ArnorSmari1 I have in the description - this isn't the same patch however, it is tweaked

  • @phortysiks Alright good

  • @phortysiks whats a good substitute for lunacy. Me along with 1/4 of your viewers seem to have pirated massive and I REALLY want this sound!!!!

  • @JulioTamaleShow pirate an update patch fool

  • @ArnorSmari1 read the description before you talk like a cunt

  • @boqer123 I was just pissed because I thought he was taking all the credit for they're work

  • dodge and fuski :D

  • I always get happy when I see phortysiks has uploaded a tut vid

  • Great tutorial mate!

  • I see you watched the dodge and fuski tutorial..

  • first I was like 'ok, another sound tut, let's check it out quick', then I saw it's 13 mins long and went 'WTF', then I heard the bass and thought 'ALRIGHT, let's do this^^ great sound!

  • No. Way.

  • fuck this is amazing

  • I've got to give it to you- you definitely have the most modern, well sounding patches made on YouTube. Outstanding sound design mate! Cheers!!!

  • damn, that was fukin ace bruh! i was just starting to fuck with those last few mssaive wavetables, phase on lunacy is sick! great and easy video to learn tips from!

  • Great

  • is there a way to do this with reason?

  • No way! I asked if you could make this on twitter the other day....and you didnt disappoint!! Yeeessss!!!!

  • Right.. Its 2:29am at the moment and this is a 13:33 video. To save my time, can I make this wobble using only massive, or do I need ableton? Because I use FL, cheers.

  • @est1993getme u can just use massive, it doesnt matter the sequencer program :) but u just wont have the ableton specific plugins

  • @THEdjORC Yeah, but are there alberton plugins used in this video outside of massive which dramatically alter the sound of the wobble? Like.. Is it possible to make the exact wobble at the start in FL instead of Alberton. Thanks for replying btw.

  • @est1993getme If you have the WOW filter.

  • @est1993getme Im not sure, to be honest i didn't watch the whole thing because Im not a huge Reese bass fan :D but if there is, there is certainly equivalents to it inside FL studio. MOST plug ins can be put into sort of categories (be it reverb, saturators, filters, delays) and most DAWs have their own default plug ins that do the trick. It may not be AS proffesional or maybe not even that, but just sound a little different, but the effect wiill be similiar (or at least should be!)

  • great vid, im ownage

  • FIRST!!!! but seriously great vid :D
