ok so for your xbox 360 DVD drive the white screen.. just replace the DVD drive... take it apart and look for the model number lol and ebay has em all over for sale replacement dvd drives swap out the PC card from your original DVD drive so you don't have to flash the new DVD drive and bam it works... now for freezing im still researching how to fix if you find out let me know please and thanks lol.

fyi only brand new xbox 360 gets the 3 year warrenty now. if u turn in your xbox once alrdy for the three rings of death, they send u bak a replacement and there is only a 90 day warrenty and after that it will cost $100 to repair...IMO everybody shud just buy a new JASPER model xbox. it runs on a lower voltage therefore using less heat and allowing u to play longer and saving money...
@xxhadudexx btw the jasper doesn`t run on less voltage, it just has a chip architecture which is smaller from 65nm to 45, meaning it needs less power and runs cooler. The jaspers still fail, just not as frequently

We got our replacement on July 29, 2009 and last week it started up with the E71 and screen freezes and HD issues. And yes I have an external cooler that is temp activated. Called MS to ask what was going on with it and they told me that all replacement consoles come with a 90 DAY WARRANTY, not 1 year.

hey to make this work faster u need to put a blow drier to make it way faster its only going to take 1 HOUR then u will get the 3 red rings and just send it in. This will make the motherboard (which is the metal sheet) So thats what i did and it worked. :]

My xbox has never gotten red rings because i take care of my stuff. What I am trying to say is comparing the xbox 360 issue with smoking (Surgeon General Warning Label) or even hot coffee (warning, contents is hot) is totally different. All hardware wears down and brakes over time. There are even software problems that can affect this as well ( PS3's 2.4 Firmware anyone?)

ironically. the 3 rings you have is from over-heating rather than the actual rrod since actual rrod has the top left ring off
(while laying it down- if you use it standing up, it would be top right ring)

When I bought my Xbox, nowhere on the packaging did it say "Warning, this hardware has an average lifespan of 2-4 years."
My xbox has never gotten red rings because i take care of my stuff. What I am trying to say is comparing the xbox 360 issue with smoking (Surgeon General Warning Label) or even hot coffee (warning, contents is hot) is totally different. All hardware wears down and brakes over time. There are even software problems that can affect this as well ( PS3's 2.4 Firmware anyone?)

You should have known the failure rate is above average and unacceptable for the 360. If you didn't know that you were investing into a ticking time bomb then you are even far more disconnected from reality than your persona suggests. Being fraudulent to resolve an issue in your favor is terrible ethics and morals. You might want to think about how one day you might be judged based on these kind of life actions. I don't think you should be judging him on his morals, rather you should be asking the fat cats behind Microsoft why they manufactured a console with so many faults,. These companies are rich beyond your wildest dreams, the least they can do is make sure that there hardware is as durable as it can be, but in Microsofts case, this certainly isn't so. Getting a free repair off these money grabbing bastards is the least anybody should do.

i heard if microsoft found any evidence of tampering they would not fix it (in this case using the towel trick) it will ruin your 360 more. and i know your doing it to have 3 red lights. which i find really stupid because i dont believe in paying microsoft a 100$ fee for what was there problem to start with. it should be automatic free fix for any sort of red light. accept the 4 red lights. lol

Well even better..This may take a lil while..But if you disasemble The New and old Xbox and trade the gut's from each system(The insides) and then return the New xbox with the old insides.This way the system checks out if they do check it..The serial number will match up and everything..The only thing they would notice is that the sticker has been tampered with...Even still..What 50 year old soccer mom is going to know that?

also you can try puting a window fan behind it or any other kind of fan and what that does is put all the hot thats coming out go back in so it messes up your xbox 360 and then you get the three red rings of death...

mine is getting shipped out for a repair. E71 and E79 with one red light is popping up and i dont have to pay one penny...RAC should have given you the papers for the one year warranty. i would sue the shit out of them for that. well i hope they find a solution to you problem.
