Every Coheed album is the same. At first, it takes a little time to get used to the songs... but they grow on you. And then you love them. Year of the Black Rainbow is one of my favorites; The Lost Shepherd, World of Lines, When Skeletons Live, Far, Here We Are Juggernaut, The Broken, Guns of Summer... all amazing songs. The album doesn't have as much of a prog-rock feel to it as the first three did, but regardless, the album is amazing.

@devtech It does feel like that, doesn't it. The first three kept to a certain style, a quicker kind of pop-punk prog-rock feel with really poetic lyrics about certain events, now the last two albums have been the exact opposite. Heavy, slow, lyrically bland and self oriented with less story and less memorable hooks. Not to say they are travesties, I love 'Here We Are Juggernaut', but the new style holds no candle to the likes of this brilliance.

@Apocol0id Maybe you just need to listen to the album over and over again. See, I never actually ever liked but maybe 2 songs on NWFT. But then I started actually listening to the whole album front to back and now I love every song. Perhaps it just takes some time so feel the music. I still dont exactly like the new album, but I by no means hate it.

I agree, its not just mtv that did this, and more fame. It was josh leaving. I am not saying chris isnt a good drummer, or that he isnt good for the band. It has nothing to do with the drums, josh was a huge influnence in the song writing.
