At first i was like Oh shit Manhattan???? then i was like Oh Manhattan, Kansas either way i feel for anybody lives that were affected by this or any tornado that has done damage
@bradcasali The scary part is that you CAN'T see anything other than the power flashes. Tornadoes are definately alot creepier if you can't see them coming.
@joshua555555555 You should learn some grammar. The word 'alot' is two words; the 'its' is 'it's' in the instance you used; and, lighting strikes can cause 'power flashes' or more accurately power surges, in addition to tornadoes.
Seems manhattan Ks got all the perks when in fact ppl forgot about salina to chapman and other places just saying and for them ppl it's manhattan Kansas !!!!
That lightning strike at 1:33 was something else... wow Yeah, I thought it was in NY at first but I remembered there is one in KS too. :-) Helps to read the descriptions from time to time. :-0 An F4 tornado in NY would be all too rare but in Manhattan NY, the damage would be colossal, worthy FEMA's attention probably.
LOL PEOPLE THIS IS MANHATTEN KANSAS NOT MANHATTEN NEW YORK CITY... when was the last time you herd of a EF4 Tornado (166 -200 mph) touch down in downtown manhatten new york ? =D
Please be a little more specific next time you mention a city like that, say the STATE as well, like if you're in Manhattan, KS say MANHATTAN, KS, if you're in Paris, TX, don't just say PARIS, if you're in Hollywood, FL....
can't believe it's been 2 years already, i wonder what this year will bring. I live in JC, so i'm pretty much safe. but hope this year won't be so bad.
@miniAve2009 meterologist stay in the studio studing the weather thazts coming and the thing this person is doing iss storm chasing. because i wanna become a meteorologist too. just thought id let you know that helpfil fact.
Wow why would there be a tornado in Manhattan, NY?
Anywho, this tornado was crazy! I remember class being cancelled the next day because half of campus was f'd. And it takes a lot for K-State to cancel class.
two things first at 1:44 that noise i heard in Modern warfare 2, what does that mean? (might be a dumb question) second when a tornado is about to strike do you always have rain or hail before hand?
Well, I don't know about MW2. However, I live in Oklahoma and I can confirm that rain and/or hail does not always precede a tornado touchdown. A tornado can strike with very little warning, and relying on factors like rain or hail to warn you of a forming tornado is not wise. Night-hour tornadoes scare me, a lot, especially since I can't rely on a dangerous storm waking me up before there's a tornado in my yard. And sirens aren't that loud. We're accustomed to sleeping through the weekly tests.
That noise you heard was the sound of the emergancy bradcast system....that tone is ment to get your attention so that oyu can hear the broadcast coming up
Not always, the tornado usually forms out of the 'hook' of the storm with the rain band usually following behind it or close to it. Im not meteorologist so I could be completely wrong, but I've seen enough shows on discovery to get atleast that much.
@craphunter that sound is a weather service alert.. sometimes you will hear it on the T.V. before they broadcast some sort of warning (usually interupting whatever the current program is on)
@craphunter most likely big hail because thats the warm-air atop of the storm and it clashing with with cold-air creating the funnel and the hail of the storm. in a nutshell, hail comes first
This is what scares the hell out of me during the night when a storm comes through. We got lots of tornadoes at night here in NC. Had two of them come through the yard and God knows what it would of done had it hit. Freaky
I stayed in Manhatten when we were driving through Kansas. My aunt grew-up there in Manhatten. Even when we were there in November and the wind was crazy. I saw why its in the middle of tornado alley. ;)
Manhattan KANSAS!!! ... oh my god i remember that night.. i live in Chapman ... =[[ my house's roof lifted and twisted.. if my house woulda been on the other side of the street it wouldn't be standing.. i was driving to wamego that night so i wasn't really involved with the tornado but it went by my other house through louisville... have you seen the video where it hit KSTATE??? bah.. i get shutters when i think about that night.
@africkinamerican this was in Manhattan, Kansas. If you listen to the audio of the radio in the background it talks about Alma (KS) and the county of Wabaunsee. It did several million dollars damage to Kansas State University in Manhattan. My son was on campus during the storm..... pretty scary.
There's no footage of an actual tornado on the whole tape. Stop saying it's 'Incredible'. You're just like every other inbred new yorker. Inbred with eyes too close together and a weak jawline. Get a fuckin' life. And stop compensating for your 3 inch penis by posting videos that don't match the title, or even matter for that sake.
So, me and my two sisters were going to the place in Manhattan called "Pillsbury" (a river) so we could go down waterfalls, swing on ropes, etc., when on our way, a tornado forms right in front of us on the road. This story happened on June 11, 2008, in Manhattan, Kansas. So what you see here was the same storm I saw then, except that the tornado I saw in person died within 5 minutes of being created. So, now you know
Don't hold your breath. No matter how hard storm chasers try to prevent disaster, people will never listen to warnings, and therefore, things will remain as they always have.
Dasteufelhund, as the envoy of the Lord, I must remind you that He doesn't fail. Those storms were His work, to protect the planet. Many times must man be protected from himself.
You're the perfect example and a reminder to all that he fails and he fails all the time. Those storms are simply nature at work. Your claim of being an envoy of god..wow...are you stlll living in the dark ages? We've gone through the period of enlightenment already. You're an envoy for no one but your retarded, delusional self.
and you... dasteufelhund... you are even dumber.. why do you response to all that shit he's saying... WHAT HAPPEND TO ALL THESE MOTHERFUCKERS ON YOUTUBE LATELY!!... DAYAMN!!
I don't think I'd say that this is an "incredible video of the Manhattan EF4 tornado", merely due to the fact that no footage of the actual tornado was shot...
Great footage of lightning flashes in night vision & a wonderful job taping the damage AFTER the storm...
A tornado is harder to watch out for when its night because you cant see it.Its becomes dangerous because you can be close to it and not even notice it.
but one thing is for sure... when i see tornados now, it's like second nature for me to take charge and help others who are in the path of one or those who have already been hit by it. I also want to see more, but lately when i have come to this decision, there are no storms coming to michigan that are serious enough to actually produce a tornado.
well the thing is... i travel around Michigan, alot, and i guess in away it is making it more likely for me to come across one than if i was to stay in one place. Out if those five, i could only visually see one and that one split into sisters in front of my eyes. All of the otherones, were hidden by a rainwall and i later found out that they were actually tornados, i'm just lucky i didn't decide to drive through the rainwall.
im only 21 years old and i can safely say i have been in five tornadoes and im not even going out looking for them. Plus, i live in Michigan, not a very hot spot for tornadoes, maybe i have bad luck.
your lucky i have at least been in one tornado every single year i've lived and i was born on the start of tornado season in texas (i live in the "tornado alley" area)
i live in kansas but theres no tornadoes where i live that happen where i live ever ive never been in a tornadoe and neither have my parents and ive been living in kansas all my life i live in lenexa kansas
Of course you can't see it you idiots, it's at night. That's why you see flashes, which indicate power lines are being ripped apart by the tornado. Just because you don't see it don't ASSUME it's not there. These chasers know what they are doing, and the people of Manhattan, Ks can tell you what happened.
wow wow very funny...your a comedian...but dont get upset that your not from New York...or maybe do...with your attitude you would be gutted like the smelly fish that you are.
omg i was in this erea at salina kansas at the koa with my nephews and mom and dad i was passing through east of abilene and and to visit my ex girlfreind and the tornado siren started going off on 6-11-08 in the evening my word talk about kaoss at its finest glad it miss everyone . that why i will not live in texas or kansas safe in colorado until the 14 earthquakes that just happen and a 5.3 shook my small town of aguilar colorado i guess were not all safe lmao!!!!!! hey mom i am a "rockin"

Of course you can't see it you idiots, it's at night. That's why you see flashes, which indicate power lines are being ripped apart by the tornado. Just because you don't see it don't ASSUME it's not there. These chasers know what they are doing, and the people of Manhattan, Ks can tell you what happened.
