  • Oh yeah youre the smartest person in the world inyour CAR during a TORNADO. You got lucky dude!

  • @rct3fsx These are trained professionals. They are also known as the people who help save our lives.

  • wow if an EF4 hit New York, the city would be totally destroyed

  • This is just crazy

  • Lol I though it was New York..

  • @SarahSnooze haha me too but the worst tornado to strike one of the five borrows is and f2 on sept 17 2010 or was it the 16

  • @SarahSnooze me to but the worst tornado to strike one of the 5 borrows was an f2 on sept 16 2010 @ 5:47pm

  • @bradcasali The scary part is that you CAN'T see anything other than the power flashes. Tornadoes are definately alot creepier if you can't see them coming.

  • There ain't nothing there you cranks.

  • @bradcasali Are u stupid? If there are Power Flashes like that then its a tornado, it would take alot of wind to break a Transformer. LEARN MORE.

  • @joshua555555555 You should learn some grammar. The word 'alot' is two words; the 'its' is 'it's' in the instance you used; and, lighting strikes can cause 'power flashes' or more accurately power surges, in addition to tornadoes.

  • I believe the last part showed Lee Elementary School.. I actually went to that school in 1999.. I did not know they had a tornado until now.

  • Seems manhattan Ks got all the perks when in fact ppl forgot about salina to chapman and other places just saying and for them ppl it's manhattan Kansas !!!!

  • You Just said...Oh my God.....Its just God...Yahve....Passing...Just Let him...Pass....All should Kneel down before him...

  • That lightning strike at 1:33 was something else... wow Yeah, I thought it was in NY at first but I remembered there is one in KS too. :-) Helps to read the descriptions from time to time. :-0 An F4 tornado in NY would be all too rare but in Manhattan NY, the damage would be colossal, worthy FEMA's attention probably.

  • Video shot by Dick McGowan ?

    'THE FUCK ?

  • @Prettygurlswagg0umad he's dick mc going

  • Comment removed

  • @dyroy1 lol Oh Big, What'll we do?

  • other then that...this was some tornado look at that damage :O

  • LOL PEOPLE THIS IS MANHATTEN KANSAS NOT MANHATTEN NEW YORK CITY... when was the last time you herd of a EF4 Tornado (166 -200 mph) touch down in downtown manhatten new york ? =D

  • Please be a little more specific next time you mention a city like that, say the STATE as well, like if you're in Manhattan, KS say MANHATTAN, KS, if you're in Paris, TX, don't just say PARIS, if you're in Hollywood, FL....

I don't mean to be rude but I'm just saying..

  • OR SOMEWERE ELES?

  • WAIT YOU MEAN NEW YORK?

  • LIE IT WAS NOT IN MANHATTAN BECAUSE I LIKE IN MANHATTAN AND I SAW NO TORNADO!

  • Tornadoes = Artwork

  • tornadoes are killers at night

  • I remember this day, I lived on Ft. Riley when this happened in Manhattan. Thank god i Wasn't at my friends house on that day.

  • can't believe it's been 2 years already, i wonder what this year will bring. I live in JC, so i'm pretty much safe. but hope this year won't be so bad.

  • i really wanna become a medioroligist this is sick OMG

  • @miniAve2009 meterologist stay in the studio studing the weather thazts coming and the thing this person is doing iss storm chasing. because i wanna become a meteorologist too. just thought id let you know that helpfil fact.

  • i cant see it where is it someone please tell me

  • Wow why would there be a tornado in Manhattan, NY?

Anywho, this tornado was crazy! I remember class being cancelled the next day because half of campus was f'd. And it takes a lot for K-State to cancel class.

  • i thought this was new york too. lol they did that on purpose

  • why didnt i see a tornado?

  • @ismokealotofpot420 because its dark and you smoke pot ;)

  • I never got one!

  • I love how there were tornadoes in two different Manhattans that same week. There was an EF3 in Manhattan, IL on June 7th of that year. LOL.

  • a lot of the time hail and rain comes, not always though. the sky seems to always turn a weird yellow green color.

  • two things first at 1:44 that noise i heard in Modern warfare 2, what does that mean? (might be a dumb question) second when a tornado is about to strike do you always have rain or hail before hand?

  • Well, I don't know about MW2. However, I live in Oklahoma and I can confirm that rain and/or hail does not always precede a tornado touchdown. A tornado can strike with very little warning, and relying on factors like rain or hail to warn you of a forming tornado is not wise. Night-hour tornadoes scare me, a lot, especially since I can't rely on a dangerous storm waking me up before there's a tornado in my yard. And sirens aren't that loud. We're accustomed to sleeping through the weekly tests.

  • @craphunter

That noise you heard was the sound of the emergancy bradcast system....that tone is ment to get your attention so that oyu can hear the broadcast coming up

  • 1) That noise is telling listeners that that is it for the warning announcement.

    2) Not always, there may be no rain/hail before a tornado, so don't think there is not a tornado coming when it's not raining. Listen to 0:29

  • @craphunter , sounds like an emergency broadcast, probably the nuke in modern warfare 2 lol.

  • @craphunter the noise is the Tornado warning noise also, and it was raining.

  • @craphunter emergency broadcast system o.o

  • @craphunter

Not always, the tornado usually forms out of the 'hook' of the storm with the rain band usually following behind it or close to it. Im not meteorologist so I could be completely wrong, but I've seen enough shows on discovery to get atleast that much.

  • @craphunter that sound is a weather service alert.. sometimes you will hear it on the T.V. before they broadcast some sort of warning (usually interupting whatever the current program is on)

  • @craphunter most likely big hail because thats the warm-air atop of the storm and it clashing with with cold-air creating the funnel and the hail of the storm. in a nutshell, hail comes first

  • @craphunter that sound is the end of a warning bulliten, second, rain: yes, hail: no

  • This is what scares the hell out of me during the night when a storm comes through. We got lots of tornadoes at night here in NC. Had two of them come through the yard and God knows what it would of done had it hit. Freaky

  • @jt8fan7272 Tornadoes average at like 200 yards across on the small weak ones. You are a liar or a fucking idiot.

Either way, there hasnt been any tornadoes go through your yard and you're fucking stupid.

  • i wish i lived in manhatten

  • shame,shame,shame...

  • Yes there was but they are extremley hard to see during the nighttime hours

  • I stayed in Manhatten when we were driving through Kansas. My aunt grew-up there in Manhatten. Even when we were there in November and the wind was crazy. I saw why its in the middle of tornado alley. ;)

  • Sorry, didn't see the tornado. But I've gotta give you an A+ for chasing it where you can't see it.

  • At about 36 seconds into the video, you can see where the tornado winds were knocking down power lines.

  • Yeah. Shame those power flashes don't illuminate the tornado.

  • I firgured it would be Something else cause Manhattan barely have tornadoes

  • I didnt see a damn thing!

  • @RoyHil29 if you'd been looking for some space without a tornado, then you'd be right. it was huge.

  • i wish i had ur job

  • at first i was like, not much traffic for NY, then I saw it was Kanzas. not quite!

  • this doesn't even show the extent of the tornado in manhattan KANSAS or chapman...

  • Manhattan KANSAS!!! ... oh my god i remember that night.. i live in Chapman ... =[[ my house's roof lifted and twisted.. if my house woulda been on the other side of the street it wouldn't be standing.. i was driving to wamego that night so i wasn't really involved with the tornado but it went by my other house through louisville... have you seen the video where it hit KSTATE??? bah.. i get shutters when i think about that night.

  • I thought this was Manhattan as in New york city xD

  • @drybones54321 me 2

  • @drybones54321 haha, me too.

  • @drybones54321 ha me too im like what the hell a tornado in new york city!?

  • Since this vid was linked to Illinois tornadoes, I was thinking it was Manhattan IL, not far from where I live.

  • @africkinamerican this was in Manhattan, Kansas. If you listen to the audio of the radio in the background it talks about Alma (KS) and the county of Wabaunsee. It did several million dollars damage to Kansas State University in Manhattan. My son was on campus during the storm..... pretty scary.

  • @drybones54321 me 2

  • @drybones54321 if it were nyc's Manhattan there would be no nyc

  • @drybones54321 -yeah thats y clicked on this video to watch it...

  • @drybones54321 same here

  • @drybones54321 I Know!! LOL We Failed

  • @drybones54321 Same here...another moment lost.

  • oh i saw it.that thing is big.

  • sorry man i didnt c anything either

  • i didnt c a tornado?

  • scary

  • Crap, I want my effen 3:10 back! I can see this shit in my back yard when the sprinklers go on!

  • Nothing like filming leaves on the road in the dark for pure excitement.

  • I thought this was New York XD

I saw the title and I was like, "Fail.."

  • me tooo

  • Manhattan, KS.

  • @vanityspitemalice same here... i thought it was another youtube attention whore

  • lame video..

  • nature was angry but i don't know what.

  • get a life and stop crying...dayamn if it isn't incridible why do you watch it

  • holy crap i thought when i saw the title of this video i thought it was in New York! O_O

  • ditto

  • So, me and my two sisters were going to the place in Manhattan called "Pillsbury" (a river) so we could go down waterfalls, swing on ropes, etc., when on our way, a tornado forms right in front of us on the road. This story happened on June 11, 2008, in Manhattan, Kansas. So what you see here was the same storm I saw then, except that the tornado I saw in person died within 5 minutes of being created. So, now you know

  • omg, i thought that you were talking about manhattan, like the nyc manhatten. i was just like "what, i never remember that"lol

  • God doesn't fail. We fail because we think we're gods.

  • Well said. Random, but well said.

  • Man , i wish i could track tornados with you guys.

  • Don't hold your breath. No matter how hard storm chasers try to prevent disaster, people will never listen to warnings, and therefore, things will remain as they always have.

  • i live for this kind of stuff. lol

  • We'll see...

  • have fAITH GOD WILL PORCTCET US

  • Like he did when Katrina hit.

  • I prefer to have plan B when God fails.

  • LOL LMAO! ROTFL and all of thea above

  • God wnt fail!!!

  • God failed more times than you think. People just don't like the idea or admit God does fail.

  • C'Lightning:

You're the perfect example and a reminder to all that he fails and he fails all the time. Those storms are simply nature at work. Your claim of being an envoy of god..wow...are you stlll living in the dark ages? We've gone through the period of enlightenment already. You're an envoy for no one but your retarded, delusional self.

  • You think people rule the planet, when in reality, they never had control in the first place.

  • C'lightning:

I never said or thought people ruled the planet, you said that and you allegedly accused god who's the one ruling the planet, intellectual treason.

  • i know right?

  • somebody must protect you from being dumb! commanderlighting... shit or something

  • I remember everytime a lightning bolt struk you could see the tornado... It was scary...

  • Struck*** hahaha

  • WhoAA!! :PP

  • wow thats crazy

  • haha.....go to universal studios theey HAVE A TWISTER RIDE THERE of that scene very fun!

  • I don't think I'd say that this is an "incredible video of the Manhattan EF4 tornado", merely due to the fact that no footage of the actual tornado was shot...

Great footage of lightning flashes in night vision & a wonderful job taping the damage AFTER the storm...

  • A tornado is harder to watch out for when its night because you cant see it.Its becomes dangerous because you can be close to it and not even notice it.

  • @starofastory thanks captain obvious!

  • but one thing is for sure... when i see tornados now, it's like second nature for me to take charge and help others who are in the path of one or those who have already been hit by it. I also want to see more, but lately when i have come to this decision, there are no storms coming to michigan that are serious enough to actually produce a tornado.

  • well the thing is... i travel around Michigan, alot, and i guess in away it is making it more likely for me to come across one than if i was to stay in one place. Out if those five, i could only visually see one and that one split into sisters in front of my eyes. All of the otherones, were hidden by a rainwall and i later found out that they were actually tornados, i'm just lucky i didn't decide to drive through the rainwall.

  • im only 21 years old and i can safely say i have been in five tornadoes and im not even going out looking for them. Plus, i live in Michigan, not a very hot spot for tornadoes, maybe i have bad luck.

  • your lucky i have at least been in one tornado every single year i've lived and i was born on the start of tornado season in texas (i live in the "tornado alley" area)

  • jeez u guys say tht u lived in Ny all ur life and stuff. This was brought to youtube on June 13 2008 this could be from like.... 1982! who knows..

  • i clicked this video thinking you meant NY...i live here all my life...no tornados so im like what???...

  • i live in kansas but theres no tornadoes where i live that happen where i live ever ive never been in a tornadoe and neither have my parents and ive been living in kansas all my life i live in lenexa kansas

  • to be fair i didnt see the tornado once in this video

  • lol

  • wait how strong was it? n when was it?

  • Of course you can't see it you idiots, it's at night. That's why you see flashes, which indicate power lines are being ripped apart by the tornado. Just because you don't see it don't ASSUME it's not there. These chasers know what they are doing, and the people of Manhattan, Ks can tell you what happened.

  • being a new yorker born and raised...id like to tell you...shut the fuck up!

  • dont get mad at me! its not my fault you found out your mom has a bigger dick than you do!

  • wow wow very funny...your a comedian...but dont get upset that your not from New York...or maybe do...with your attitude you would be gutted like the smelly fish that you are.

  • either way i really dont care, just try to calm down dude. you will never find a boyfriend with that attitude

  • first of all im a girl "dude" and i do have a boyfriend
