i'm pretty sure i "understand" prog rock. i've been listening to mr. wakeman since 1972. in those 39 years i have not heard anyone as accomplished as him, a matter of choice i understand. i stick by my previous statement, if you don't like it don't listen. simple as that.
just another fat guy in a cape who helped ruin rock and roll and ronald reagan was just another movie actor who had no reason to enter politics. you are asinine with heavy emphasis on ass. i'd love to argue with you but space won't allow. if you don't like it, turn it off. simple as that. don't condemn him for the people that do like his music. yes, i said music. that's what it is.
If he still has it he should use it ..there are still people who love the sound & like to watch real musicians perform ..unlike the crap thats produced today ...the oldies still have it ...
Talk about lost in time. Wakeman is just a parody of himself these days. Let me ask you all this: if these 2 guys on stage were nobody you knew, a 60 year old in a cape and his long haired lanky son waving, what can only be described as a musical abomination, around in some back street pub... you'd laugh your bollocks off and throw bottles at them. It's EMBARRASSING - why can't Wakeman just stop this dreadful, cringeworthy cabaret and show a bit of dignity in his old age?
@NarcissistsDie He's not wearing it to a pub for christ sakes, he's wearing this attire while playing a medieval concept album. Everything was built around the album, be it the location of the show, the attire everyone wore, etc. I suggest you find the video of him showing some dignity playing Silent Night with his son and other videos when he's actually NOT in character for a show. Hell they even had Brian Blessed at this show as a narrator. The event was more akin to a play then concert!
@progressiverocker12 I'm not on about him stopping playing, I'm on about him packing this kind of cringe-worthy nonsense in. Wandering around the stage in fancy dress, his gut hanging out and a fukin keyboard strapped to him like some God awful 80's/70's mutation. You know, as a fan of some of his music, people ARE allowed to disapprove you know. Not all Wakeman fans love everything he does by default - you are allowed to say that some of it is shit because it clearly is. Delusional people.
@NarcissistsDie I see your point. Just because your a fan doesn't mean you have to like everything he does. Your clearly not into this kind of thing he does and that's fair enough although I personally woudn't say that people are delusional for liking it. Each to there own.
Wow! One of the truly most gifted musicians of our time. Argue gear all you want, the man is a musical genius, and can make a simple resonance sweep lay like a golden egg...
I love Rick Wakeman. However, I prefer the KX5 and Chick Corea. The Roland controller is not my thing. I think that the Yamaha KX5 was better. Too bad they stopped producting it.
Wonderful piece of music, amazingly played by two great musicians! Adam´s really talented, he´s almost as good as his dad. I couldn´t get this music out of my head for days! Great song, great concert.
@xxKALEMxx Actually, if you ask Rick, he'll say Adam is technically much more versatile and agile on the keys than himself. Adam 'owns' his dad on the Keytar - but of course, he's not going to upstage him here.
You traveled from Philly to wherever this concert took place? Unless you have a boat, you probably watched this in the US as well. You mean to say you didn't know there were so many Americans in America? Must be all that spotted dick. If you don't like Americans, then you can just skip on back to the land of tasteless food and rotting teeth.
Yes. My reply should have stated that I didn't know there were so many Americans at the concert, because I didn't run into any Americans at either show, Sorry for the misunderstanding. Why so angry and apparantly jealous of my trip to England to see these concerts?
He's a wonderful musician. I flew from Atlanta, GA, USA to see the show, and it was a lifetime highlight. I hear the DVD will be out in October. I only hope Rick will compose with Jon, Chris, Steve and Alan and the fab five will come out with a new album!
I still think about that gig every day. I went on the friday, and had great seats. Shame the polo shirts sold out so quickly. Thanks for the camera info. I cant seem to find one in Britain though.

Caught him wandering about during the day between sound checks. Got him to sign a couple of DVD's. Lucky me.
I love Rick, but I'll be damned if he doesn't look like Captain Kangaroo.
