It looks like he's doing what I do. If you're in the lane that all the signs you pass say to be in and you're waiting patiently and advanving along, you don't want some asshole cutting in front of you that decided to ride up the lane with no cars so he/she can save some of their precious time and take yours. Keep it tight and they cant get in.

One time, I had to ride with a tailgater, and we went down the highway at speeds of 80-95 mph, tailgating EVERYONE. Literally. We got right up on everyone's bumper until they had to speed to get out of the way. I wanted to say something, but didn't no what to say.
Time to brake check the guy every time he runs up on you.
Had a woman last week doing nothing but fucking with her hair the whole time down 10 miles of roadway doing the same thing as this guy. Headlights so close you can't see them, but just fast enough and just lucky enough to stop in time.

Nothing i hate more than a tailgater IN THE SLOW LANE, in BUMPER_TO_BUMPER traffic TOO! It's low res but you KNOW whoever that was in the passenger seat was thinking "fuck, why does he always have to drive like such a D-bag?"
It's alright unless your on a bike and get some prick in a BMW tailgating you when your coming to a stop, I don't use my breaks to slow my bike only gear changes and the clutch so I ended up pulling of at 30mph onto soft sand, nigger didn't stop when I cussed him out either.

I'm not completely sure he's tailgating you cause your driving slow he's doing that so people don't cut out in front of him...but I don't know it does look like he's giving you the fingers but i don't know what you did to him first

Need to invent some kind of paint bomb, like paintballs or something, that aims for the front of cars of tailgaters.
It's stop and go traffic there is no reason to tailgate. You can't drive any faster than you are. I'll tailgate if someone is driving to slow in the fast lane when there's not heavy traffic going our direction, but when it's crawling along theres no reason to tailgate, theres nothing the driver in front of you can do. Seems pointless he isn't going to get to where he is going any faster.
If one thing pisses me off it's tailgaters...it is a driving capital offence in my opinion. Thanks for posting this, at least it isn't just a Calgary thing!
I don't know what is worse, the tailgaters or the people who make arbitrary lane changes in an oftentimes failed attempt to gain a few seconds on their fellow road users by cutting in to your "space cushion". I wonder if it ever occurs to the average driver that when lanes are full such as during peak traffic periods, that both lanes move essentially the same speed. Try it on your next commute, pick out a memorable car and see how far ahead it gets when you are in the rightmost lane.
When the traffic to the Port Mann bridge is backed up to 176 street, at worst you only lose 10 car lenghts if you stay in the slow lane instead of the 'fast' lane over a 20 minute period... and that's with being 'ok' with letting people merge at the next two onramps.
Yeah, it always amazes me how reluctant people are to allow others to merge in front on that stretch of road especially. The desperate lane changes to the left to avoid the prospect of allowing people in front speaks volumes about the degradation of our concept of courtesy.

I like the commercial where people walk up behind other people walking fast and go up real close, then it says "you don't walk like this, why should you drive like this. Don't tailgate."

32,500 people per lane per rush hour. (hov lane on bridge doesn't do much when fraction of people can take it)
