  • CHEEEEEAAAAHOOOOOO.....

  • You are so right. I do believe in what you have stated. Well said !! God bless !!!

  • haha this song is mean!! but to those pepz who say were we come from shizz man....i heard we came from Tanganiyka..like africa.. apparently there's even this old fijian folk song that talks about a place called Tanganiyka which was once home...'bout the animals and trees and the land and all that stuff...but yea shot black rose....vinaka...

  • @ayedisguy

The claim that says that Fijian came from Tanganiyka is an hoax. They came from South East Asia

  • @ayedisguy Tanganyika is in east africa below kenya & uganda, & above mozambique & zambia. scientists believe there is a link between the people of tanganyika & the fijian people. The old folk song is called "Ko ira na Vuda" & the story is believed to be derived from a writing competition from "nai lalakai" in the 1800s. however genetics have shown that fijians also carry a gene derived from south east asia, but then fiji had succesive waves of settlers over thousands of years so not surprising.

  • STUNNING MUSIC

  • got hooked on this music in fiji and can't get enough!!!

  • fantastic music! Traditional ritms and modern music instruments makes a perfect mix-I shall visit Pacific once more...

  • Very beautiful spiritual song 10th time im listening to it :D

  • wooohooo this song had my fijian blood pumping....

  • very nice boso well done

  • Wonderfull!!!

  • BTW, I am a proud Kaiviti and proud of my roots as well. I live away from home, but seeing this video always makes me nostalgic in regards to the good old days. One day, I will make my way back home. E dua na siga, yau na lesu tale mai na noqu vanua. Au lomani Viti.

  • For anybody wondering about the origins of Fijians, we descend from those who migrated from the ancestral homeland of Maleya over 4000 years ago. Led by the great chief Lutunasobasoba, our people landed on Mana Island, then on Viti Levu. The original spot where our people first landed on Mana island holds the original mana of our Fijian people, a sacred place overall. We weren't beamed down or created from the earth like other islanders were.

  • @fijikid80 Where's Maleya? I do know Indonesia and Malaysia even the phillipines has melanesian like population that are regarded as teh true natives and was disheartened to hear how much crap and discrimination they endure from the government and other folks.

  • @Lilzoify1 Well, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines are Asian countries and their peoples have no relations to Pacific Islanders. The Western half of the island of Papua is controlled by Indonesia and its government sends soldiers on missions to discriminate and kill its native Melanesian peoples. Maleya is the ancestral homeland of Fijians. You'll never find it on a map since it's a part of our ancestral history. It's believed to be in the Kenya region of East Africa by Tanganyika.

  • @fijikid80 But those countries do have a melanesian population google it and you will find as for phillipines i guess they have more of an islander connection since some of their cultural traits when i was watching documentary have some similaries btw I will send you a youtube link that will interest you heapz please watch its abouit Lemuria.

  • @Lilzoify1 Yeah, but who does these documentaries anyways? I haven't seen what you said you'll send me, but a lot of these documentaries are made by non-Pacific Island peoples like Westerners who say stuff like islanders came from the Asian continent and all the similar characteristics and what not. My stance on people from places like Indonesia & Philippines is firm in that they are the very people that were fine being Asian and now some of them want to be islanders all of a sudden.

  • @fijikid80 lolz its posted on your profile bro the link chek it out

  • @fijikid80 I think you are really confused, the only part of Fijian history that mentioned the place Maleya is durng the 2nd world war where Fiji sent it's army to fight the Japanese. Maleya is the Fijian version of Malaysia. That's why we dont need visa to go there

  • For your infor.......

    (1) Samoans originated from asia

    (2)Tongans originated from south america

    (3)Maoris originated from hawaii

These 3 group are called polynesia today.

    (4) Fijians originated from tanganika Which is called eastafrica today. ...Pacific islanders that have got african features are called Melanesians.

After all, .. we are all PACIFIC ISLANDERS and should always respect each others origin and culture. ....Today we binded by one word and that is PACIFICANS.

  • sa vina riki tamaya....yawa o kemudou na noda historians....

  • Just wondering why??. ... you used the word TAMAYA on your last comment. ...bcoz the part of FIJI where i come from, ...the word tamaya is commanly used. So. ...Ill leave it to you to find out what part of fiji iam from.

  • Ulutini Samoans originated from Asia? LMAO Tongans originated from South America? Maoris originated from Hawaii? Who told you this LOL whoever told you this punch him in the face for me LOL!

  • LOL!Malo sole WarriorBK!

HAHA! Tu'u 'ese lou Anava o Taua ne'i te'i ua lavea fa'afuse'i ma ma'ini'ini le ao 'a Ulutini lol lol malo lava i le to'afilemu.

  • Hey WarriorBK, Ulutini is right. Most of the Polynesians migrated from East Asia, notably Taiwan and China. Oceania is made up of three types of islands: Mela (Black), Micro (Small), and Poly (Many) -nesian. It is basic history backed by archeology based off of findings from excavations in Upolu. in the end, we all come from God or Africa (cradle of civilization) depending on which you believe. Ua a lii WarriorBK? You need to get off youtube and hit the books just a little bit more.

    FORM SAKI NAWAKAI (.K.V.T)

  • Im a Samoan female and i enjoy the video. It really doesn't matter if im Samoan or Fijian we all have African blood bumping through our bodies, tho i don't understand the words, but i can fill them. It seem to me that they were giving thanks to God for something, and because our African blood connects us it the reason i can feel and appreciate the music i believe this in my heart of hearts....thank you for putting it on here.....

  • ummm I thort that samoan have that asian chinease blood for sure, polyneasia is realy different with micro lol

  • Um, Fiji is Melanesian... And yes, Polynesian mostly trace to Asia as opposed to Africa... But we are all Oceania, and that is what counts most.

  • So if the Palagi people said Samoans came from Iraq you would believe them too? LOL Palagi's have been trying to figure us out for the longest coming up with all these theories of where Samoans come from lol first we came from Egypt then we came from American Indians then Lapita People etc you see wat I mean........

  • Our ancestors were the only Polynesians who when asked by Palagi people where did SAMOANS come from said SAMOA. Our Ancestors said Ga Mafua Mai Tagata Samoa I Samoa we traveled out never in......

  • When Palagis asked Tongans where did they come from etc Tonga pointed to Tui Manu'a & the Manu'a Islands in Eastern Samoa etc......

  • Toga would point to us because we settled first. We settled first even before the Maorians because they were further South. Toga too is further South, therefore was settled later. (And if you really are an Islander, you would know that Toga should be spelled through the pronunciation, which lacks the N).

  • Tell me this aint it a trip how our people SAMOANS have a full story of how we were created? Before the white man got to SAMOA, SAMOANS already had a full complete story of how we were created. Even the palagi's were impressed with our creation story of Tagaloa.

  • You're, kinda dense aren't you? That is not the argument here. Whether or not they were impressed is highly irrelevant. The point is that, despite the legends... Wow, I'm so wasting time here. It's like trying to teach a pet how to do math... The point is, we have our legends, but even most of the elders today know that Samoans weren't always from Samoa. But unless you really believe that Scotty beamed us down straight into the Ring of Fire, than there is nothing further to discuss.

  • @animedork101 you dont get my point, my point is no matter what palagi people say or do SAMOANS are from SAMOA and thats that!

  • @animedork101 There could be truth about the ring fire since its claimed that alot of those entities in ancient myths and legends once did exist. Alot of people regard them as aliens. Go to Youtube and type, "God and Aliens."

  • @Lilzoify1 I perosnally reckon all ancient indigenous people are related to the Sumerians

  • @Lilzoify1 Heck, we have to have a Cradle of Civilization somewhere. It's up to the person though to believe which of the place they want to believe civilization started. Sumeria isn't a bad start.

  • Of course I understand this concept, but that is all part of the culture. But you are wrong though, when Samoans say that, listen to the matais' speech, have them tell you some of the stories, and some of them (and the ELDERS) would tell things aside from Tagaloa, about a place of origins in the beyond. But even you must admit that there has to be a place of beginnings. We weren't just beamed down all of a sudden.

  • Than you must also believe the legends of Tagaloa and how he created the first humans from maggots. Man, I love Samoan stories, and legends and pride, but you must also know everyone (and I mean here the whole world) originated from one place. Either biblically from Adam and Eve, or scientifically from the East. And if you believe Biblically, than technically, Samoans are from the Middle East (cause that's where Adam, Eve, heck even Noah's kids are from).

  • @WarriorBK Bro they already know where you fokls are from they have hidden alot of stuff. Polynesians, american indians and other cultures that associated with Lumeria have some sort of ancient babylonian connection and mesoptamia I was doing alot of research how the egyptian, aztec, easter island and I think polynesians too were actually not different cultures that happend to be eerily similar but were once a powerful one empire that got destroyed and scattered around by conquerers.

  • @animedork101 Not really bro you have the other side of island who are culturally closer to polynesians in the Island of Vanua Levu and even Rotuma which is a separate island of its own. Then there this other part of Fiji where the micronesians live, So I will say we're pretty diverse nation.

  • @Lilzoify1 *whispers* It's still Oceania bro. And I'm not a bro. I'm a girl. XD In the end, humans still have a head, legs, and arms and are prone to either do good or bad in this world. At the end of the day, we realize we're more alike than we are different.

  • @animedork101 True I agree with you alot hey watch the video I send ya its a bit of shock though.

  • @animedork101 lol cant able to send it to ya pit we cant post hyperlinks here either oh well.

  • ummm I thort that samoan have that asian chinease blood for sure, polyneasia is realy different with micro lol

  • TebikeiT real Samoans dont have Asian or chinese blood. Its only the Samoans that are mixed with chinese and asian that look asian.

  • Wow, they don't really teach you anything at Tafuna High huh? (Assuming you are from THS). Of course Samoans are Samoans today, but trace as far back and you'll see that we came here from the East. Though, Samoa was settled before Hawaii, and Hawaii before NZ. I am saying this with full Samoan pride of course.

  • Yea It doesn't matter if we samoan or Fijian.....All Islanders stick together......Polynesians......

  • Ahhherrmmm...we fijians are a mixture of Polynesian and Melanesian not just polynesian, but many comes from melanesian background and a few polynesian......the Lau people....lol

  • @jt420 ehhemm.. im melonesian.. all fijians are

  • Love the video tho I don't understand the words. I think of a warrior preparing for battle. In a way, I get sad watching it. A man like that, several centuries ago, would strike fear in the enemy, war club crashing downward towards the head. Nowadays, a modern army would simply gun him down and march forward. The honor of war doesn't exist today.

  • We Belong to the way of the warrior in whom the old ways have joined the new. quote "Katsumoto on the Last Samurai"

Im from Samoa and i sill believe we are Warriors. Samoa showed we still are warriors when his Highness Malietoa Tanumafili II died.

And warriors from all over Samoa guarded and escorted his body when the police carried it to his final resting place.

  • Rosiloa, awesome song, awesome band. One of Fiji's best. Thank you for putting it here.
