Nice I built my own external run tank with a marine supply line and clips no mess design love these 2k's the 3k's are a lil bit quieter but can't beat the one hand carry ease of the 2k sweet vid
I like it! I need to do mine also.. This was very helpful. No w I just need to find out what type of oil to replace it with. I am a huge AMS oil fan and will use their synthetic stuff if I am able.
@Slabslayin I use Amsoil 10W30 small engine oil but 10W30 will work fine. Amsoil is a synthetic, probably the best available. Available online, delivered to your front door.
I love your ingenuity, both here and in your Gerry Can video! As you might expect, there is a company who has now made a beautifully machined aluminum extension piece that threads right into the oil dipstick. It costs around $15, and is made by The Great River Company out of New Mexico. I ordered mine when I ordered my aluminum gas cap for my extended fuel system. It can be found on Amazon. Search: Honda Generator Oil Change Filler/Drain Tube, Model# HOF10. Works beautifully and is bulletproof
Thanks. The Honda design must be the worst in the world for oil changes.
What a surprise the first time you try it. There's such a nice little chute built in. And you get a waterfall of oil down the bottom edge with it, none of your oil going into the prepared container, and you're holding this 50 pound oil-covered machine.
I suggest the additional step: change the oil in the road out front so you only have to shovel some dirt on spilt oil and let nature take care of it.
You mean Oil change BP style then. Spill and split!
I hope you're kidding. It takes 6 minutes flat to do a clean oil change with this cheap PVC pipe. Why not do it the right way and not mess with nature?
I just held a empty toilet roll (from the bin) in the same place and tipped it sideways. Then used a funnel to pour fresh oil in. Then return toilet roll to the bin.

That is a neat idea. Thanks for sharing!!

PVC, duct tape, a razor blade....
Add a little imagination and anything is possible.

fredbair 11 months ago
@fredbair Sorry for the late reply, Yes, 1000W should be no problem. I use Metal cutting saw that's rated at 1700W all the time with no problem.
