  • Going from Protracker to FL Studio was a natural progression however, nothing beats programming with a tracker.

  • pitch bends rarely sound good eh!

  • Stardust memories!

  • Man, pro tracker ruled. I'm amazed I've never come across anything similer on the PC, if anyone knows of anything please let me know! Fruity loops is just rubbish by comparison. I remember if you were really flash, you could run PT in 8 track mode!

  • There's always renoise and madtracker2.

Also the modular Psycle and Jeskola Buzz tracker.

  • Thank you, I shall look into that.

  • You're welcome :)

  • Hehe, I recently bought a "new" 1200 just for protracker. Just couldn't live withouth it.

  • lol, a tempting idea. Where does one buy a new 1200 from though? :)

I remember re-creating several of my favourite game tracks with pro-tracker and my blessed 'Action replay' cartridge. Ahh those were the days, I was so much more clever back then. :)

  • And the Renoise can read the Amiga Protracker Mod's too. It's awesome :)

  • modplug tracker :>???

  • Protrekkr seems to be a clone of protracker.

  • Fruity Loops is not a bad program, it's a very complicated, not user-friendly program. But it does have zillion of options. You may try out E-Jay Dance Creator for the pc. It works kinda like ProTracker.

  • Yeh E-jay is much easier to use than FL but FL is definitly better if you know how to use it.

  • buzzmachines com

  • Try MilkyTracker.

  • I really need the drum samples from the second track! The snare is pure filth >:-D

  • Actually the second song is called STARDUST MEMORIES, not World of Commodore, though it was from the demo with that name.

  • was PT only for amiga or could you run it with atari st? sorry ive never used either or pt but im facinated as hell! please respond ill chec back for respond :D thanks

  • There is a version for the Atari ST aswell. Called Protracker ST though and 3 channels. Seen a vid or two here on youtube.

  • The fisrt song is "Defloration" by Emax (that was released at The Party III in Denmark -1993-).

The second is "World of Commodore 92" by Jester of Saniny (for the Sanity's demo with the same name).

The third song was composed by Estrayk of Capsule, who is one of the finest composers in the Amiga demoscene. I believe that you can find it in the musicdisk for Amiga "Her Numbness".

  • AMIGA FOREVER!!!!!!!

  • long live the amiga 500 and protracker

  • Hey, what version of PT was this? the blue one is definitely the sleekest looking ;)

  • Actually you CAN change the colors of PT to anything you like. I used to change them to various different colors depending on my mood for maximum composing pleasure and inspiration - even back in 1992..Without Protracker I couldn't ever have learned to express myself musically. Trackers are eternal!

  • The second song is "stardust memories" and was composed by jester/sanity and used in Sanity's "World of Commodore'92" demo. The 3rd and last songs sounds like one of SMT's old chiptunes but I could be wrong here.

  • nice track man!

  • First song is Defloration by Emax. Don't know the other 2. You can get Defloration at Aminet, where it's listed under Mods/Techno (Page 9) but surprisingly not in the Mods by Emax directory. If you can't open LHA archives, you can Google for it and play it in mp3 form from a modcast de site, and pursue further options. Defloration is definitely one of the best mods.

  • protracker ....over the limit !! :)

  • Protracker is the best!

  • What are the names of all songs plz? (I'm french)

  • amiga 500

  • What platform is this on?

  • Protracker RULZ :-)
