  • this guy is a joke.

  • Never before has anyone said so much about so little.

Someone ask Hilary and Obama the dreaded "How?" question....

Any politician...please someone sak them HOW?!!!!

  • He said exactly what he meant to say. The fact that he was saying this to a group of rich, elite Democrats is telling. I would like to have heard him give that speech to the working class people in PA (or any other state).

Then, he tries to throw the Clinton Administration under the bus. Doesn't he know that unemployment in PA fell from around 8% to around 4% in PA during the Clinton Administration?

  • Notice how people are slipping "white" into the picture. Trying hard to paint the man as a racist. So transparent. I like that Obama is sticking with his statements. Detracters are playing right into his hands. Of course people are pissed. How is this flipped into an insult? Hell we ain't happy! Last week you never saw these comments "eliteist" "condescending" now he's that too. Whatever is said on t.v. you parrot. Not going to vote for him anyway so who are you trying to sway?

  • He is now apologizing - even as he rewrites what he really said back in Friscon in the private closed door meeting

  • Here are the SF words -- as posted in the NYT blog

"..they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations"

per BO - for people who have lost jobs their BELIEF STRUCTURES AND VALUES ARE THE RESULT -- THE RESULT -- OF OTHER ISSUES AND NOT DIRECT AND NOT THOUGHTFULLY DETERMINED?

BO is now a psychiatrist? He knows better then we do why we do the things we do?

  • It's funny how people always focus solely on the "bitter" part without posting the entire quote in context. This why America will continue to suffer. Most Americans are too stupid to comprehend that Obama was addressing about how the working class has suffered over the years and Washington isn't doing a thing about it. That's the thing that's making people "bitter". Christ, a second grader should be able to comprehend this shit.

  • J6Dunn

BO would like u 2 focus on the bitter part. That is NOT the conceited/elitist part.

He said people CLING to ideas different to his out of misplace frustration.

While I disagree with a lot of the views of small town PA folk -- I do NOT say they have not given careful deliberate thought to their views - I do not dismiss our differences over some issues -- as their being bitter and frustrated

That is what BO said that is so wrong - he put down people's beliefs

  • A few points

    1. Obama is the one who voted against lowering the maximum interest rate that could be charged by a credit card company.

    2. He said this in front of an elite group of Democrats. If he were in touch, why not put it in a stump speech. Crickets.

    3. Under Bill Clinton, unemployment in PA dropped from around 8% to around 4%. Obama equating Bill Clinton with Bush is just plain stupid.

  • BO was so condescening and offensive to equate white working class folks with bitterness, bigotry, and opposition to trade. Look, whites, like blacks, just want a fair shake! And they are not religious, or own guns, or oppose illegal immigration out of bitterness! What Obama is really doing is subtly implying that the folks of PA who will not support him must be racist and close minded.

  • bamainatlanta - right!

That is what he said in Frisco in the private closed door meeting

This Friday he focused on anger over jobs

& SAT he apologized if he lost votes but did not retract his position that people who disagree with him do so out of frustration and Cling to ideas different to his because they are bitter over losing jobs

BO is "changing" what he said-as he "apolgizes" and backpedals

BO wants people 2 focus on bitter/angry-that was the nicer part of what he first said

  • It just dawned on me- after posting on BO's recent words-the roles have reversed

BO is the campaign of anger and rust

HRC is now the candidate of hope &people who still hope

    What happened-was I asleep for 100 years

Elitist media will support this elitist set of comments-say its true etc.

I will wait and see how real people react

Ithink BO is patrician and condescending - and his words here were another reflection of his feeling superior and knowing every answer to all questions

  • HRC is the candidate of desperation and the ill-informed.

Ted, it's only natural that you feel inferior...because you are.
