  • I have to get this CD!!

  • Thumbs up if u love this song!!!!! <3 :D

  • You can slighly hear a laugh at the end of the solo (watch the making of and you'll know)

  • awesome inspirational, looking out the window music.

  • i bought the album!!!!

  • i dont get why people think their older albums are better. im not saying this one is better but i like them all equally. they each have something great about them. idk what it is but theres just something about this album that just sounds...good. it sounds more put together. or maybe thats just me

  • @InfamousTrapper25 I completely agree. A lot of people claim to love Origin of Symmetry just because it's the fashionable thing to do, even if they won't admit it to others or even themselves. I think it's good but I prefer Absolution and I think The Resistance is great as well.

  • @rocket83cs yeah same. i think origin of symmetry is pretty good but its definately sounds alot better live. like some songs just have like bad guitar tone. like the riff for new born sounds alot better live than on the album. also when he sings songs from origin of symmetry now, they sound alot better because i personnally like his voice better now because its all grown up

  • @rocket83cs

I like Black holes and revelations, and the Resistance! Two best albums on the planet

  • 2:04 best solo ever

  • I have realize than in the solo 2:17 theres the matts laught than in the Making The Resistance matt laught after the solo. They puted in the studio version. LOVE MUSE!

  • Muse are influenced by some bands, but they have their own style. They're original.

And Matt? Matt doesn't copy anyone. He got his own moves and mind.

  • WTF do people think they're saying about Matthew Bellamy?!! He's a real genius and he never imitates anyone as there's no one that's ever near as good and brilliant as he is. that's what I have to say. Muse FTW!

  • @husseinahmed95 I love Muse, really, they are amazing musician's. But Mattew has stated as Queen as being a massive inspiration on the band. Vocally maybe not, but definitely guitar wise, which can be seen massively on this album but also on the this song, solo. Maybe this is only my ear and opinion, but there are far too many who state the same for it just to be ramblings

  • Why do people put Guiding LIght and Vienna on two opposite sides? Muse is a continuation of whatever was the best in music and this of course includes Vienna a classic song of the 80's and the other way round a lot of Uvox lovers don't like Muse. Am I the only one who loves both?

  • resitstance !!!!!!!!!!!! For what we are really dreaming of!! Fight for it!!!

  • I'm so sick of people bitching about "old Muse..." Muse is Muse. This song is genius. (Yes I was listening to muse before this album.)

  • too much stupid comments....

  • I was listening to this song before my english lesson and the teacher came in at 2:04 :( Btw, that's my fave part of the song.

  • No one has a voice as unique as Matthew Bellamy's (just saying) :D

  • Wow this song actually made me cry :'( not cos its bad but personal reasons. Muse you really know how to make a good heartfelt song

  • I don't understand why people didn't like the resistance, it wasn't as good as Oos but still pretty decent!

  • space rock ,rock opera ...band THE MUSE

  • MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE *,*

  • Comment removed

  • Both songs Vienna and Guiding Light, both bands Ultravox and Muse and both vocalists Midge and Matt are genius!

  • @jadzia7911

Matt Bellamy just sounds like he's imitating Midge Ure to me. I'm not into Muse at all, because they just sound like they're ripping off Ultravox with a little bit of Queen and Joy Division thrown into the mix. That's what most modern indie bands are--just 2nd rate rip-offs of new wave/post-punk of the late 70s/early 80s. It sickens me to think that 99% of Muse fans don't even know who Ultravox are and Muse would be absolutely NOTHING without that band.

  • @RockyBalboa7777 I respect your taste in music, more I am a fan of Ultravox too, but I also love Muse and think what you say about Matt is unjust, there are similarities but Muse have great contribution in today's music and are inspired by old giants but they don't rip off - they create their own genius style just like Ultravox back in the 80's. Both bands are class for their time.

  • @RockyBalboa7777 All bands are influenced by sounds of other bands. Queen, for example, was influenced by The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who, Black Sabbath, Slade, Deep Purple and David Bowie. That doesn't make them unoriginal, just smart enough to be able to use the strengths of past bands and artists as their own.

Try focusing on what you think of the music, not what you think of the people who created it. Music is music no matter how original.

  • @RockyBalboa7777 I know who ultravox are and I think you're crazy! They did one memorable song decades ago, i've been listening to Muse for 10 years and i've never made that connection. Neither have i made the connection to new wave, post punk OR indie for that matter, they're classed as alternative! Do you even know what music is??? Oh yeah and Rocky was rubbish, stop living in the past.

  • @naomijme Judging by the nature of your post, I'm guessing you're an insecure teenager. First of all, Ultravox are legendary and they have four memorable albums with Midge Ure. You may only know one song, but they have many "hits" and a wealth of extraordinary music and were one of the most innovative bands of that era. Stop living in the past? By implication, one is only allowed to enjoy music for a certain period of time? Unlike you, I'm not into "flavor of the month" music.

  • @naomijme (cont'd), When I listen to Ultravox songs such as "When The Scream Subsides," "Serenade," "New Eurpoeans," "The Song (We Go)," "I Remember (Death In The Afternoon)," just to name a few, I hear a bit more than a vague similarity. To dismiss them as an extremely strong influence on Muse's music is just ignorant. Your opinion of Rocky is of no interest to me. It's beyond your comprehension. You have made it abundantly clear that you see only the surface of things.

  • Only the drums are similar, but Ultravox sounds like from some shitty cocojambo with a homeless person singing it.

  • (* . *)

  • beautiful

  • Hey, My long argument's missing words!!

  • amazing song

  • This is Ultravox Vienna in disguise.

  • @marqueeclub67 Yes I can hear Vienna too - I love both songs and bands:)

  • Long live MUSE

  • My friend just showed me this song and I was practically in tears. Great song!!!!

  • Matt is definetly an Indigo person!!!! <3

  • that Long Live Play add by playstation, is the only add I watch complete jajajajaja

  • i love this song. give me chills every time he hits that high note... you know the one im talking about...

  • *______________________________________*

  • although it's pure genius, this is definitely muse's worst song. no question. However, its chill and still amazing compared to any other band.

  • @7catstied2gether I've seen a few people on the message boards say that ever since The Resistance came out and I still emphatically disagree.

  • I like how the big jet sounds at the end of Collateral Damage are just like in the beggining of this song. when i was first listening to the album I was like

Wow, is this the same song?!?!?

  • I have some Queen feelings about this song :D and i absolutely love it :DD

  • "There's no guiding light in our lives" - That line is just beautiful !

  • The instrumental in the middle of this song is an absolute killer.

  • "Muse is our guiding light in music" - Exogenesis 10:12

  • @gkc25 Praise be to Matt, Chris and Dom :)

  • Why is there only 8 songs on this playlist ? :/

There are 11 songs on this album

  • this is so beautiful

  • this song needs more veiwings

  • Every song of theirs is completely wonderful. I love you Matt Bellamy!!!!!!!!

  • This song sounds too much like that 80s song "It must have been love, but its over now" Not my favourite Muse song

  • other muse songs>feeling good>guiding light . . and thats saying something

  • @lgriffiths12345 Seriously. I have no idea why it has even the tiniest bit of love. I fucking hate this song.

  • @lipstickterrors Yep. Couldn't agree more. This is fucking mushy, over-emotional and quite boring. Old Muse FTW.

  • @HomebrandMusic01 old muse is all emotion mostly ?? If you dont like Muse's new sound then go back to the old stuff..

  • @spankthezebra Yeah, I was giving Muses's new stuff a go on Youtube and didn't like it. Back to the old shit I go... sweet, sweet old shit. Love it.

  • @HomebrandMusic01 Listen The Resistance won an album of the year award, best rock album, and a lot more awards. Plus Uprising was like the most epic song of 2009...and Matt even said this was more personal stuff and if you cant respect that then dont ruin peoples lives saying how bad you think the resistance is and say some positive stuff about the band..we are trying to premote them in the states not make people on them!! Ya Plukedib!

  • @evmuketa34521 BRAVO!!! Salutes!

    !

  • Respond to this video... Man I hope people in other countries fight like this otherwise...makes us look PREETTY weird........

  • That solo is so stupidly awesome...

  • somewhere in the last 2-5h I fell in love with this song

  • Muse is great. lol

  • There isn't a single song that I don't like from Muse. I love all their songs, from their very first to their very last.

  • idk if its just me but...look at this video: watch?v=c3vf_6zwQ3o&feature=related .....that was when the solo of this song was recorded....theres a point at it in which matt laughs... if you listen carefully, you can hear mayb at 2:17-2:18, the beginning of matt's laugh...but then its cut.....lol

  • @quibto Hahahaha awesome!

  • @quibto They record guitar through a line, so it wouldn't pick up anything which isn't coming from the guitar

  • @AlexEurasia69 but still listen to it its just like matt's laugh is there c'mon just watch it =-D

  • uprising is the only song that is good on this album (to me)

i still love muse, and plz dont yell at me for saying that

  • @MrWolfLeader

there is something wrong with you if you think exogenesis isn't fucking pwoper

  • @owtinoz f*ck off, its a band, not god, dont worship it cuz i said i only like muse u prick

  • @MrWolfLeader weird i think that is the my least favorite song on this album

  • @MrWolfLeader its good when playing action games xD

  • some people dont like the new disc because its kinda different, but i mean they evolved in theyr music ,and i particulary love this disc

  • Anybody, like me, noticed those powerful notes and rhytm of the Russian Anthem, especially at the beginning?

Anyway one of my favourite Muse's Masterpiece.

  • PURE HEARTS ARE SO SUSEPTIBLE....

  • So many of Muse's songs sound like an anthem, passionate and rousing.

  • AWESOME

  • I love U2, but I WORSHIP Muse.

  • This song kind of reminds me of Ultravox's Vienna, especially at the beginning!! Love it! :-)

  • @Dollymiss75 Exactly the Vienna beat is in both songs and I love them both:)

  • Comment removed

  • @MotBot99 jesus CALM DOWN! u2 are good, muse are good, leave it at that! bh

  • @gmp1381 eeerm... scary comment :/

  • Guiding Shite!

  • @SydMclean HAHAHAHHA good one you total bellend

  • It's not just music...it's a Battle Cry for the power of Freedom from those who would exert authority to institute slavery and death and destruction. Heed the Call.

  • i hate 4:19

  • @Tsukisamathefirst wast muse inspired by radiohead?

  • @TheMarcster24 They were inspired by a lot of bands, Radiohead is just one. U2 maybe, although that's more debatable.

  • @FretsonFireMuse I'm fairly certain they've never said listed Radiohead as an influence at all. It was just a coincidence that Showbiz ended up having a couple of songs that sounded like that.

  • @SuperElectric96 I don't think they've straight up said they were influenced by them, especially now with the comparisons, but there are a few instances they've hinted at it. And I think there was one time when they kinda mention it but I lost the interview.

  • #Muse!!!

  • Muse takes inspiration from U2. I mean, Muse does better music than U2. There's no competition, Muse are similiar but better.

  • @Tsukisamathefirst are you retarded, u2 are wank, muse shit all over them all day, every day

  • @MotBot99

    wow youre an asshole

he even said muse is better

    and i agree

  • @eerohehe you're the asshole, he's fucked! muse take inspiration from u2, i don't fuckin think so. try reading it properly before you leave your gay little comments you fuckface

  • @MotBot99 i dont know if muse takes inspiration from u2 and i dont care about u2, i just said youre an asshole and i agree about muse being better than u2 dude

  • 47 people have no guiding light in sight

  • Seriously, MUSE + Coldplay NOW please.

  • Ah, beautiful lyrics as always. And killer guitar solo. Yeah, I'm convinced Matt is an alien...

  • @mrsbookthief more like a God, a Guitar God :)

  • @mrsbookthief There's more of us than you think, lol! Once we discover undiscovered potentials within us, that do not originate anywhere in this world, obviously, it is something "other". We all have a cosmic story.

  • Ah, the bass. It's lovely and firm. I like it firm. ;)

  • @Sipper0 that's what she said (the last part)

  • 47 people have no guiding light

  • Comment removed

  • :) :)

  • i could see this song in free willy

  • I think people who "dislike"d this song so that they compared this one with other songs by Muse. Generally, the song is better than rest others in the world, but Muse has much betters. This is why I also "dislike" it although Muse is my most favoured band.

  • sounds like *made in heaven by queen*...i mean only the beginn...muse are the best of all live bands ever

  • @PureRage86 they probably took inspiration from queen. I mean, Muse does like Queen.

  • 45 deslike?

    why?

    this song is really amazing!!

  • When that guitar kicks in @ 1:44 and also @ 3:05, it just blows my mind at how beautiful it sounds. Those arpeggios give me the freaking willies!

  • @gators8769

    Ditto at 2:04

  • @juvecro true! but hahah why the sad face?!?!?!?

  • @teamedward122 I think he wants to make a breakthrough ;)

  • @juvecro have you looked up justin beiber or jb?

  • Ew a Bieber ad popped up on my screen. That's so inappropriate...

  • This song really reminds me of U2! This such an awesome song!

  • @LakesharkEps i love U2, but this song reminds me of muse. :)

  • @LakesharkEps Reminds me of Coldplay, personally. In a good way.

  • @AirWaterLandBuffalo I suppose it does, but in my opinion Coldplay sounds a lot like U2

  • such an amazin song... i luv it!!! <3

  • the fraking guitar solo!!!...matt is a guitar god

  • I listened to this song waaay too many times today..... I felt like a dork lol. Love this song so much though

  • Muse...... I'm seriously speechless smh

  • Muse owns music world!

  • Muse is the best bohy bond ever!!

  • @12lfc321 i agree with you whatever bohy bond means.

  • WHY AM I COMMENTING ON THIS VIDEO, I'VE GOT HOMEWORK TO DO! But really, this song is amazing. It's a true masterpiece that deserves more publicity than it has. I love this song so much that i am here typing when i have a project worth 80% of my grade tomorrow. (I honestly think that muse deserves my attention much more than some cruddy schoolwork.) This song is my Guiding Light. (Cliche' but true.)

  • /watch?v=AA5gC6TR15A&feature=channel_video_title

  • this should be an anthem for someone.

  • There is not a single song by Muse I don't like. Everything they touch is epic. End of story.

  • why can't everyone just stop complaining and enjoy the song? its beautiful, truthfully. and please, if you don't like how muse has evolutioned then just don't listen to them. simple as that.

  • @msalee94 no ones complaning :) cant blame them this song is EPIC! muse are amazing and I luurv the drummer, hes so cool :D

  • Matt Bellamy Does the most amazing guitar solos ever! :) love MUSE!!!!!!

  • is it just me, or this is the invincible of the resistance? the intro, the solo...

  • Rock Music = UK

  • @Mykola40 so true

  • dylans mum loves this song

  • Reminds me of Queen to be honest, great song!

  • sickest guitar solo ever. easy, but sounds awesome

  • this song sounds so retro and inspirational. man I need to move to the UK, all my favourite bands are there :(

  • @sweetgummie me too. why english bands so talented?

  • @killerkite333 coz were epic :) hahahahaha but america have tonnes of amazing bands like fall out boy, greenday, its endless! but, granted, england have the music gods ;)

  • This song makes me feel like a champion! I did my final presentation today, when i got home i blasted this song!

  • What is this song talking about?

  • @TheMoMoGurl well take the mute off and stop staring the album cover and then you might just know

  • @TheMoMoGurl IMHO: This song is about people getting together and realizing that they really are the same and that something is wrong with the way they live. "The Sunshine trapped in our hearts, it could rise again" The atoms that make up everything on earth are fused inside stars, and it could rise again (as we travel into space, which is what Exogenesis Symphony is about). No Guiding Light left in sight, essentially means we've lost our way. PM me and I could explain the album theme!

  • 41 people need a guiding light.

  • 3:50 ....enough said

  • Did Midge Ure collaborate on this track?

  • @Ennahdee This is the Vienna beat, but I don't think a rip off, rather inspiration used in the best way

  • I don't care what anyone says. The Resistance album is great.

  • a wonderfol song...perrgghhh..

  • Inspiradora, apasionante, única, simplemente algo maravilloso. algo que sin duda me ha motivado, algo que en los malos y en los buenos momentos me hace sentir especial. por muse! que nos trajo la musica mas maravillosa del mundo!

  • I love how Muse evolves. It shows confidence, shows they do what they want and it shows a logical progress in the band. I prefer a band that evolves their music rather than a band that repeats itself over and over again on albums

    It's a high quality album, there isn't a single song I don't like

I still enjoy every album they made. It's just a matter of accepting change. And if you aren't able to accept that change then that's your loss.

Life is full of changes you have to adjust yourself to.
