  • Stfu.

  • Nice! the most I've gotten off my HTC DROID Incredible is 27 hrs! Not bad considering my phone came with a somewhat small 1300MAh battery

  • I did a test. I Put my EVO 4G on the highest brightness level. Then i put the display to always on. I put it on my table til it ran out of battery life. I got about 4 hours and 15min out of it. That was on full brightness. I bet it would be even better on a lower level. Your supposed to charge your phone everyday so the time i got from it always on. Seems really good to me. So EVOS do have good battery life.

  • Hey Where did you get the back to your Phone

  • @shelbygt50000 It's the original cover for the Evo with an invisible shield by Zagg. I got the full body cover which has a cover for the front and back. No special replacement cover required.

  • people only have a problem with the battery when they play angry birds for hours like my mother does.

  • @LesterDarioDeLaCruz Yeah this same behavior happens on any phone...including my wife's iPhone. If you turn on the screen and all of the gizmos the (stock) battery drains quickly on any smart phone. But again this was more to dispute videos where people said they only got 5-6 hours of standby on their Evo without any usage. That's just insane. I posted a follow-up video where I show reasonable usage of the phone and still got over 30 hours. Love my Evo!

  • What are your settings? Have you done anything special?

  • @bhalbrooks Sure do...just read some of the comments I posted for this video. Unfortunately some of your usage has to do with the coverage area you are in, so poor signal typically means poor battery life. Keep in mind this was very light usage so don't expect this battery life if you made 4 hours of phone calls and streaming Pandora. I average more like 30 hours under my normal usage (see my follow-up video). I think I also got lucky with my battery too...

  • from the look of things when you showed your battary breakdown YOU BARLEY USED IT!!! i can my make phone last 4 days if its sits and i talk to know one

  • @playboyEyadig Please read the comments I posted for this video, specifically the portion that says "this video demonstrates that even with some light usage you can get very reasonable battery life out of this phone." I never claimed that I used the thing heavily -- in fact I *ADMIT* to light usage. The point is to refute people that say their phones dies after 5-6 hours of no use at all. Under my average usage I get more like 25-30 hours out of it, but with little usage I can easily get 50+.

  • @eff4eye okay i see what you are saying... i have the evo also and i have the sedio extended battery..and its a must i just switch out the battery and i get two days of life with heavy usage best bet for someone who is texting, talking on the phone or just anything that uses the phone constantly

  • Again another fake battery test. How about next time click on the stuff and show use how long the bluetooth was on, how many hours you talked, how long the display was on. Data off just wifi on

did you not see that when you went to the battery the bar was green and when you went to it a 2nd time it was yellow.... nice try but another FAKE battery test.

  • @IRatchett Sigh...I don't know why you have to be a troll and refuse to accept video proof. Yes, the first time I went in the battery bar was green and the second time it was yellow. Do I really have to explain to you that when you use your phone the battery charge level goes down? While taking that video my battery was draining and went from something that was above 20% to something that was below 20%. It's not rocket science and it's not fake.

  • @eff4eye your right its not rocket science, but if you were able to use your phone for OVER 50 hours then why in 2 mins to the battery go down so quick :)

Next time make a video and show the numbers just like I did. How hard is that. I mean I can leave my phone siting there for 2 days with everything off and then turn it all back on to make a video.

  • @IRatchett

    1. People were complaining that they would charge the phone and it would be dead in 6 hours without any use. That's absurd, but yes this was under fairly light-moderate usage.

    2. I actually never knew clicking on those things in about phone displayed the time they were used. I'll make a follow-up.

    3. Software doesn't always read the battery level properly. This was a huge issue with the Samsung Moment. People use recovery to reset battery stats for the Evo. Google it

  • @eff4eye i know all about reseting the stats in recovery, just like custom roms, kernels. All I said was when you make a video. Tell everyone what you have from the rom to the kernel. I was able to get 79 hours out of my wifes phone but she nevers really uses the thing. The bluetooth was not on 100% of the time because the % would have been higher. Trust me I have my BT on 24/7 because thats the only way I use my phone.

  • @IRatchett Like I said -- I actually didn't even know you could tap those things in about battery to view the usage time. Hopefully I have more clearly stated my intentions here. I use BT 100% of the time too because I have a Ford with Sync and I want hands free calls and streaming BT audio.

But the point was really to dispute idiotic videos like this one:

  • @eff4eye WOW someone loves the iphone to much haha. Well the amount of dislikes out power the likes. He had the 4g on and the iphone doesnt even have 4g to drain the battery. Thanks for showing me that.

  • @IRatchett No problem. My reaction from your initial comment was that you might have been this guy in disguise or something but my opinion has changed. You are clearly much more open-minded and intelligent. By the way, any idea how the 3500mAh battery from gorillagadgets stacks up against the Seidio? It's half the price...but I wonder if that means half the performance. It has some impressive reviews but of course those are comparing it to the stock battery, not the Seidio one.

  • @eff4eye My wife has the cheap 3500 battery that we got off ebay and it seems to be just as good as the Seidio but not sure on the life of the battery. I really like the back cover of the Seidio. So i would say you cant go wrong with the cheap 3500 battery.

  • @IRatchett Hey as promised I made another video that shows my usage on voice calls, shows BT was on 100%, and so on. I am probably going to let it go until about 35 hours until I plug it in...which is pretty average for me. You sound like you use your phone much more than I do though so I can see why you would need the extended battery.

Anyway, enjoy and let me know if you have any questions or comments.

see i can do it too :)

  • @IRatchett You're just proving my point that under light usage the phone will last considerably longer than 6 hours. Even under my average use I get about 25-30 hours out of the phone. It will always at least last me through an entire day.

I have updated my comments for this video to make it more clear what I'm trying to demonstrate here. So thank you for that.

  • @eff4eye Yes you are right about the people crying that phones will dead after 6 hours. Those people are using the 4g the whole time. If you take the extra steps like you did then yes the stock battery will work just fine. But for people like me that want run there phones wide open then you will need to get the extended battery.

  • I have the HTC Evo 3D, and as long as you turn the 3D off when your not using it, and keep the live wallpaper usage to a minium, you're battery life is GOOD. I didn't realize that I had my 3D switch on yesterday, and my battery was completely dead in a couple hours (even though it was not in use!).

  • How you get you battery cover like that mines is different and I have the black EVO

  • @vkent2315 It's nothing special, it's just an invisible shield by Zagg. I got the full body cover which has a cover for the front and back.
