how ironic, Jack ends up leaving people he promised he'd rescue on the island and Sawyer sacrifices himself so they can leave.

They can not kill off Sawyer, too many people will stop watching Lost and I am one of them... They would be better to wind up Lost then try to keep it going without Sawyer. I think even the big Jack fans will loose . interest because the rivalry between Jack and Sawyer has made Lost what it is today
