Furthermore, there's no such thing as a passive armor tank, passive means the ability to sustain damage and repair it, passively, you can't passively repair armor damage. Hence why it's called a buffer tank, which means you await fleet buffer, E.G logistics ships, to repair your high HP.

Look at what I said, I talked about sustaining a tank, I said an abaddon has a buffer tank, I said you rely on your fleet to buffer your tank; "To continue the buffer" - "To maintain the hp" however you want to look at it, they do sustain his buffer tank by providing him logistics, hence, they continue to buffer his tank.

well, if you want to get literal, a buffer tank IS passive, and its called a buffer tank because holds off from structure damage and "protects from damaging impact". quoted from a dictionary.

No, it doesn't work like that. Literal definitions don't apply to EVE. That's like creating double meaning for Gank and saying it doesn't apply to EVE because it's not the literal definition. A buffer tank, isn't passive, if you're an armor tanker, you can't passively regenerate, and you can't passively sustain 'damaging impact' as you'd call it, you're basically delaying the inevitable. Where as, a passive shield tank, regenerates and sustains impact, so it can be a passive buffer. high hp.

Reppers aren't a necessity in PVP, he had a pretty decent buffer tank. 1v1 or in small engagements reppers are usually better but in engagements where the enemy has heavy DPS buffer tanks are quite good, especially if you have RR or a logistics pilot.

Oh, and also incase anyone was wondering, this is one of my older eve videos. It was from this fight that I ended up joinng Esto, my current corp with iv been with for over a year, except one stint where I was in project nemesis because esto merged into MM, which in the end didnt work out. I have never been in or enjoyed being in any corp as much as esto perpetua,. The only other corp iv highly admired was Pronz Project Nemesis, which it was hard to leave them when esto reformed after leaving MM

Yes i know I got owned, yes I forgot about my drones so I couldnt deagress. And at this point in my eve career (at the point video was shot)I had never really fc'ed. I was also the only baddon pilot AND only tech2 fitted pilot... most of my support fleet is a bunch of noobs in caracels and drakes! So yeah, going into that fight wasnt the best dicision, but everyone wanted to fight including me, and atleast we got that damn mega!!!!! Who is now a close friend in corp =)

Ok to start with your drones were still out so de aggroing was impossible also your overveiw settings were woefully bad right clicking selecting the right menue ect ect not good in a fight play around with them so you only show what you need also dude the breathing.....but on the bright side the FC made the correct calls oh and BTW take the point of the baddon it is a bruiser not a tackler and dont be scared to use the cap boosters
