You gotta love Hollywood! Just as there is no obscuring smoke when they show a fire, the water inside a wrecked capsized ocean liner is shown as clear as Palau.
It's actually more comfortable to open your eyes under water in sea water than in fresh, and less uncomfortable if you get sea water rather than fresh up your nose. The problem that would arise in a shipwreck is that the water, whether fresh or salt, would be black with oil, dirt, grease, sewage and god-only-knows what.

I know plus what about all the salt??? Isn't seawater supposed to filled with that stuff and aren't we, human beings, supposed to find it painful.
