The reason you buy a game like this is not for the graphics but the art style and gameplay- This is a fantastic game and good job to Bandai Namco as always, have not disappointed me yet with their games =) getting tales of the abyss next when it is out-
and 360 runs much smoother than the PS3, and the 360 makes this game more cheery and warm feeling which is something you want for these kinds of games anyways- the fact that the PS3 just seems a little depressing is bad- 360 wins

@MasterStacona Actually i have to disagree, i played Naruto Storm 2 on ps3 at a friends place, no lagg and it ran smoother then the 360 plus, if your a tales fan and have a Ps3 you can import Xillia and ps3 Vesperia which has Flynn and Patty as new additions to the party. plus Tales of Graces F is coming out soon i dont own one but ive got to say Ps3 is starting to leave the 360 behind plus the games are more expensive on ps3, it just shows you how much their worth B|

People keep saying the PS3 version is better because it's a remake but seriously they only remade the game because so many fans were pissed it came out for a console they didn't own (most of the Tales games are for PS systems after all). The company added extra stuff to keep the fans happy not because they thought the game actually needed it.
@the7holyswords You're forgetting the larger storage space on the Blu-Ray format allowing for all the scenes in the game to be voiced, rather than just a few semi-random scenes to be voice, and others text only.

I played the 360 version and beat it. I heard if you beat the 360 version then it would be a lot less trouble to beat the ps3 version cause you will at least know mostly what's going on till you get to the extra scenes. I'm ordering the ps3 version of this game soon. :) I will get pissed if clint fatal strikes one of my party members though. lol

I have the game on the PS3 myself and it's not that hard to continue on with the game... though maybe it was because it have indications on where you have to go... I don't really remember I haven't played it in a while. Been too busy with Graces F

One reason why the PS3 is better is because the audio is uncompressed (LPCM) while for the Xbox 360, it is compressed (loss in quality with Dolby Digital).
For game comparison, there is a bit if difference in the field of view between the two consoles with the PS3 looking a bit zoomed in so you cannot see as much area compared to the XBox360. Watching the video comparison of the opening is a good example. Also battle during game play characters/fonts look bigger on PS3 than Xbox360.
The color between PS3/Xbox360 is the same. I have both PS3 and Xbox360 versions. It appears that the color space on the PS3 was set PC Level colorspace instead of Video Level and the display or recording device was expecting or setup for Video Levels. This would affect the picture by having a darker, oversaturated colors, crushed blacks, loss of depth perception and loss of detail as the clip shows.
The colorspace for the console needs to be set to what the device is expecting or setup for.

@BerserkerDragon2008 olors and brightness are things you have to adjust on your TV when it doesn't fit, so it's not the fault of the hardware, PS3 or Xbox.

@HotChocolateK I would say the 360 version looks pale rather than bright, the colours in the PS3 version look more vibrant. But when playing the game yourself i doubt it would make a difference.
I like Patty being here, the song sounds so upbeat and having Rita there sulking, something she didn't actually do (though I wish she did) just doesn't fit.
Why did patty replaced rita's place? *HMP* it look's kinda wrong but it's great either way they should just put an extra scene of patty rather than replacing it but still I like it. :D
I just feel it's wrong that Patty only got Rita's mere 2-4 seconds and then a almost un-noticeable addition on the ship at the end. She's the new character of the game, she shoulda had her own special scene showing her weapons and style. On another note I still hope like with the PS3 Eternal Sonata that NamdaiBanco were lying when they said north american will not get the PS3 version.
i actually did a paper on this for a class once the 360 does technically speaking have a better graphic processor...so.....if any of you start trolling about how the PS3 is so much better in everyway please keep in mind that it does not, technically speaking have better graphics than the 360
Despite the cool song and images - barely any of this stuff is in the game. I liked Rita on the rock too. There was probably another scene, one that didn't happen in-game (like any of them). Meh - not like her presence really added much, but it is a good shot of her.
Well, they had to squeeze Patty in somewhere. Other than that, it seems that the 360 version is brighter. Well, I can always just turn up the brightness setting if necessary.
Patty is cool and all but I still like Rita on the statue better....My reasoning is because it shows Karol all depressed and then it goes to Patty all happy....I just think that Rita looking all emotional works better for the mood and the song. Besides that OPINION I believe that this is still a great game and a great addition to the Tales fanchise. =3

Another reason I like Rita there more is because I like how she was positioned and such. Her hair and expression are just a work of art. Its shots like that, that keep me painting and drawing.
So... the differences between the PS3 and 360 opening are as follows: different colour logo (PS3 has kind of a gradient), and there is some pirate chick taking Rita's scene. I miss anything?

Both systems have strengths and weaknesses, and they excel in one area where another doesnt. with ToS, the PS3 focuses on shading, while the 360 is a little brighter. PS3 has good games, and so does the 360. its all just on your preference.

@joeynuma Uh...no,actually,at the current point in time,xbox 360 and PS3 games are about the same graphic wise. Its just that storylines for most games are better on the 360,because everyone knows the PS3 was rushed to try and keep up with Microsoft and Nintendo. Even now,Playstation is rushing things to keep up with Microsoft and Nintendo,where as Nintendo had the remote for their Wii and Playstation took the idea and made it look retarded,Microsoft came up with its own idea.

The PS2's eye toy wasn't that great either, and if your going to go on about rip offs, then PS3 ripped off the Wii and made itself look retarded with a lightbulb at the end. And you mentioned that brighter games make it a crappy system? Ehm, some games are alot better with a brighter screen. Just because the PS3 can make the game sharper or darker doesn't mean anything. Alot of the games on PS3 have higher ratings on the 360, too. I own a wii,ps3,&360.

I noticed that since majority if not all of PS3 games are in bluray, i noticed that the ps3 on had brighter colors and was a bit more clearer

@HotChocolateK I would say the 360 version looks pale rather than bright, the colours in the PS3 version look more vibrant. But when playing the game yourself i doubt it would make a difference.

I just feel it's wrong that Patty only got Rita's mere 2-4 seconds and then a almost un-noticeable addition on the ship at the end. She's the new character of the game, she shoulda had her own special scene showing her weapons and style. On another note I still hope like with the PS3 Eternal Sonata that NamdaiBanco were lying when they said north american will not get the PS3 version.

Despite the cool song and images - barely any of this stuff is in the game. I liked Rita on the rock too. There was probably another scene, one that didn't happen in-game (like any of them). Meh - not like her presence really added much, but it is a good shot of her.

Well, they had to squeeze Patty in somewhere. Other than that, it seems that the 360 version is brighter. Well, I can always just turn up the brightness setting if necessary.

Patty is cool and all but I still like Rita on the statue better....My reasoning is because it shows Karol all depressed and then it goes to Patty all happy....I just think that Rita looking all emotional works better for the mood and the song. Besides that OPINION I believe that this is still a great game and a great addition to the Tales fanchise. =3

Another reason I like Rita there more is because I like how she was positioned and such. Her hair and expression are just a work of art. Its shots like that, that keep me painting and drawing.

So... the differences between the PS3 and 360 opening are as follows: different colour logo (PS3 has kind of a gradient), and there is some pirate chick taking Rita's scene. I miss anything?

If his fighting moves weren't so cool (they induce jealous hate, not real hate), I'd outright hate the guy. He sat out my party from the first chance I got. Both systems have strengths and weaknesses, and they excel in one area where another doesnt. with ToS, the PS3 focuses on shading, while the 360 is a little brighter. PS3 has good games, and so does the 360. its all just on your preference.
