John never liked his voice & wanted George M. to constantly change it & "doctor" it up..but, imo, when his voice is the only thing you hear, as in this song & "It's Only Love", & "Girl", for example..it's just breathtaking the raw beauty of it. Great sound. I was a little disappointed that Yoko was only shown three times in the photo montage. The majority of the photos were head shots of John. When I listen to the song I think of the love that John felt for Yoko; not the love that his fans felt for him. Nonetheless it was a beautiful selection of John Lennon photos.

@TakachanK laloisaac, I don't think it's in bad taste at all. It's your piece, and you can include whomever you like. May Pang was "A" love, if not "THE" love of the man's life. Like I wrote earlier, I think it's refreshing not to see so much of Yoko, who I have nothing against. While she may've served as inspiration and helped him compose a great deal, it's highly unlikely she authored this song. So I defend laloisaac artistic piece on those grounds. There are countless others w/Yoko.

This song reminds us that it was not just Paul that made really great musical ballad's. John could match that skill and more. And to be truthful Paul was all the rocker that John was too. Never forget that these two musical genius's were best of friends.

I heard John made this song inspired by old Japanese poet Basho Matsuo,who had aesthetic value in silence and loneliness (called SABI). So, I guess John wanted to emphasize feeling of LOVE on SABI. I feel sorry a bit for your turning the opening of this song loud...

this man is a true legend in 1980 i was a 23 year old heavily into his music i took 2 weeks off work at that time and just listened to his music.chapman rot in hell.

Great sound. I was a little disappointed that Yoko was only shown three times in the photo montage. The majority of the photos were head shots of John. When I listen to the song I think of the love that John felt for Yoko; not the love that his fans felt for him. Nonetheless it was a beautiful selection of John Lennon photos.

@JUSTJIM2009 No offense, and I do get your point, but, for crying out loud, Yoko may've inspired the song. But, I, for one, am refreshed to see a video of the song's author WITHOUT his muse for a change. She's omnipresent in most other videos, and, yes, they were inseparable. But not everyone cared as much for her. Those from John's past (relatives, childhood friends, his ex., etc.) who were excluded from his funeral, for instance. I mean, really; who else does that?

@TakachanK laloisaac, I don't think it's in bad taste at all. It's your piece, and you can include whomever you like. May Pang was "A" love, if not "THE" love of the man's life. Like I wrote earlier, I think it's refreshing not to see so much of Yoko, who I have nothing against. While she may've served as inspiration and helped him compose a great deal, it's highly unlikely she authored this song. So I defend laloisaac artistic piece on those grounds. There are countless others w/Yoko.

This song reminds us that it was not just Paul that made really great musical ballad's. John could match that skill and more. And to be truthful Paul was all the rocker that John was too. Never forget that these two musical genius's were best of friends.
