no, the only natural occurences are riots and fires, but you place police and fire departments to stop those. After you've got a certain something in your city, in one menu, you will be allowed to drive the vehicles you have earned for them. And the army base = tank, some other vehicles have other little interresting details as well.

I love the U-Drive-Its. I've heard most SC4 players don't, but it gives a new perspective to enjoy the city you've made. I've never done the tank though because I think the army base is a waste of space, but I think I'll plop it down and get a taste of driving the tank.

I normally don't play in the U-Drive Its, but sometimes it's thereputic. Some people relax by blasting things in Call Of Duty, i relax decimating a digital city.

Which, if you think about the possibility that WE could possibly be a simulation in a computer, is quite disturbing. :D

By the way B = bus and S = subway. P = parl. Do not add them unless your city has developed quite a lot. Put open grass and plant trees ontop to lower air pollution

Actually, I do all my city planning before I even zone. I built this medium-sized city, completely gridded it out, and had a vast subway network. The advisor was really mad at me at first, but once the city grew into it, it was heavily used.

And this was one of my REALLY old cities, from the era when I was building more than destroying, but still not understanding concepts like 'planning' and 'wasteland.' lol Thanks!

I want to make a tutorial.I probably will.And make sure you use "Waste to Energy"(WtE)and put it in the corner of the other map. Put about 4-8 zones from the edge. Then click Ctrl,shift,alt and hold.Then click on "God Mode" and plant a lot of trees by the WtE.Put funding to 0,it still burns garbage but is free.Build a coal a bit farther out.Try to put it at least 20spaces away.That one you fund about 50-100$ for a new city.Always put two roads beside each other because later they can be avenues.

I know most of the cheats, and use them extensively. I prefer building a tiny landfill, then surrounding it with recycling. Once the mountains of trash are gone, I get rid of the landfill and put a park or something there.

And most of the time, I either start with avenues or later upgrade to one-way streets.

I've actually embraced your system now, but in a new way. Head to Simtropolis (dot com) and look up PEG Waste To Energy. It's a more modern version of the waste to energy plant that's much more ecologically sound.

That was a bit of editing magic. When i shot it with a missile, it did just crumble. But I cut away to a new power plant, on fire, ready to blow for the ending.
