  • it's really hard o understand :S

  • @1996142601 i know right i know ur supoosed 2 practice but i just dont understand!!!!!!!!!!

  • @hijihiji25 now i understand how to do but i toke time to understand

  • wow ur awesome lance!

whats ur best time on a 3x3?

  • rsbna1's answer is best... but anyone584 and blodymerder2 are good too.

So what do you want to win?

  • ERM DO YOU MIND POSTING THOSE ALGORITHMS? CUZ I REALLY WANT TO LEARN THIS METHOD AND IF CAN CAN PUT A BRIEF EXPLAINATION BESIDE THEM? CUZ I DONT REALLY UNDERSTAND WQHAT UR TRYING TO SAY

  • @LegendHeroesSlayer

Everyone see this comment? There are at least 4 or 5 things in it that annoy me. The first person to name them all wins.

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight The entire comment is in CAPS, there are spelling errors, He wants a brief explaination of something you already went over, he didn't put any periods, and you don't like him? did i get them all? :D

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight hmmmmmmm, well it's in all caps, word spelt incorrectly, repeated words, the fact that he's asking for algs in a intuitive f2l video, no period on the last sentence, and him asking you for this even though you left youtube.

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight fredrich is also spelled fridrich is this one

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight

    1. ALL CAPS

    2. 'WQHAT'

    3. 'AND IF CAN CAN PUT'

    4. asked you to re edit the video to put in algorithms.

    5. wants to learn algorithm form of f2l, rather than the intuitive that your trying to teach. intuitive ftw!

do i win? :D if so what did i win?

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight All caps, because being spelled as cuz, no punctuation, and a whole crap ton of spelling errors?

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight OMG You commented! XD Okay let me guess: 1. All of it was typed with Caps Lock on 2. Bad spelling 3. You mentioned this would be a basic tutorial (which helped me a lot I now average 12 secs) 4. It's ignorant. 5. " I REALLY WANT TO LEARN THIS METHOD " F2L is not a method. 6. " CAN CAN" 7. He didn't watch the video enough even though I'm sure it somewhere in the video it mentioned to watch it since you won't get it the first time. Is that right? :)

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight

    1. All caps

    2. Grammar

    3. Ignorance

    4. Lack of politeness

    5. Lack of period.

I want to win a nostalgia video :D

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight all caps, bad spelling, the scent of desperation, putting the comment as if he is for sure going to get a great explanation so that even a caveman can understand, the stupidity of not understanding a simple and easy to follow vid, the word "I" is used a lot, while "please" isn't used at all.... :P

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight OH MY GOD YOU'RE BACK! :D :D

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight f2l is no alghoritms, he says CUZ and its all capital.. whats the prize ?

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight

    1. Caps lock

    2. "Cuz"

    3. "Can Can"

    4. "Explaination"

    5. "Wqhat"

    :D

  • This was the best tutorial for me anyway to getting to understand the F2L, Thx alot

  • Um, When I do this I sometimes get the corner peice in the wrong way, how do I solve this?

  • Thank you, this was very helpful. Is there a particular way you recommend solving the final layer, or just whatever way I already know?

  • Oh man, this makes a lot of sense. It should improve my awful F2L times and maybe finally get my time under 1 minute :)

  • This blows my mind. My average of 3 solves are 01:01 but this still can't explain it. I can't seem to understand the situations. Half the time I don't see them to match?

  • this lowered my time buy 10 sec

  • you need some cube experience to understand this vid. It is the BEST f2l tutorial on all of youtube:)

  • when you come to the last layer theres no where to 'hide' the piece :'(

  • this was the video i watched that enabled me to sub-35 1+years ago :P

  • this sucks it doesnt even tell you the algorrithyms and it just tells you do this and you dont tell us you just show.

  • The third case is by no means the hardest. Maybe it is the trickiest to understand, but it's really easy! All three of them!

By the way this is SUCH A GREAT TUTORIAL!! I understood everything you said with no trouble at all.

  • can you pleas tell me which cube or brand do you use since i use a rubiks cube and i dont think its best for speed solving

  • best f2l video out there. (stating fact)

  • thank you. totally clears up confusion

  • You Taught Me F2L I Love you, No homo..

  • on the first situation (white on top) once you have the pair together how do you put them in the correct slot?

  • when you scramble it it looks like your solving it :) i wish i was that fast :(

  • Da best tutorial of f2l by far

  • I hate it whenever someone posts a comment that I am about to post xD But like most people say, this is the only tutorial I completely understand. Thanks for explaining in a manner most people understand :D

  • Wonderful!!!!!1!

    thanks Many

  • hear the train go by?

  • What site do you buy your cubes on?

  • goddamn, to hard.. >:(

  • awsome dude!!!!!!!!1 i finally understood the method by ur vid...thank youuuuuu

  • 4:00 White on top

    5:20 Colors match.

    6:40 Opposite colors.

    Easier.. :D

  • yeah, this is the best f2l tutorial ever. Its simplifies so much the algorythms soup i have in my head

  • how come every time I solve for the very last corner, I always undo the corner I just did, and end up having to do all the corners over and over again, just because of that one thing?

  • i always put the corner on the bottom, is that the same?

  • Which cube do you use?

  • thanks best F2L tutorial on youtube .

  • Thanks !! been cubing a week can do beginners method with about a 1:15 avg and picked up on your tutorial straight away !

  • haha i have the same exact monitor

  • nice stuff bro...sweet and simple, and on top of that its pretty obviout that u did spend a lot of time on this, thanks for your time ...happy cubing!

  • great tutorial, on a side not i want that screen saver

  • This is by far the best F2L video I have seen. Great job!

  • i didnt learn anything from this because i already know this. but i think you explained it very well. for other ppl who are watching this and are new to f2l, after ur comfortable with this, pay closer attention to how you bring the piece to the top layer. you can find pairing shortcuts from bringing up pieces certain ways.

  • It's kinda hard to speedsolve with this.. lots of thinking...

  • Thanks a lot! I have memorized all the steps in 9 hours :D Also, I have memorized 2 OLL and 1 PLL :D

  • i dont fuckin get how to place pairs without fuckin up the cross!

  • omg this saved me so much time when doing the part where the bottom colour is on top

  • wow your tutorial is probly the best on youtube. i watched memyselfandpi's tutorial and it makes f2l look like a nightmare.

  • I just rewatched this video for shits and giggles, then I found an old comment of mine from 8 months or so ago where I was finally sub 1. Now I'm sub 25 and hoping to be sub 20 by October 2nd- that's when my first cubing comp is. It just goes to show you how much practice can help. Of course, reducing my 4LLL to a 2LLL helps too...

  • this is the only f2l video where I understood anything

  • This is the best f2l tutorial out here probably :D

  • hey man good job but i think badmephisto's was a bit more helpful for this reason his is longer and talk more about each case but still u did a good job

  • best F2L help i´ve found so far! thanks alot!

  • Lancethebleknight please respond to this because I found a flaw with this method. What if the 2 colours are the same on the top and the colour on the bottom is facing you. then the regular thing you have here doesn't work

  • If you take notes on the computer and you can read over them to solve it print it out and take it anywhere!

great video i only watched it once and i got it !

    thanks. :)

  • Hey great video. with some practice I think I might get the rubik's cube under 40 seconds. Anyways I have a question. I want to solve the top layer quickly but I don't want to learn OLL and PLL or even 2 look OLL and PLL because there are allot of algorithms. Do you know a method that is faster than Dan brown's but less complicated than 2 look OLL and PLL

  • ~HOLY SH*T~ IT WORKS THANKS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH F2l HAS CONFUGGLED ME FOR YONKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS SOOOOOO MUCH DUDE :D

  • sick, got it after watching the video 2 times,

now I got to practice, thanks buddy

  • Great video! Ive been holding off of learning F2L (I already know full OLL and PLL) just because i couldn`t find a tutorial that went into depth of all the situations but know Ive actually starting learning and I can already see my times improving. Thanks!

  • THIS IS BY FAR THE MOST HELPFUL F2L tutorial! before u complain and ask, please just rewatch the video. i have a question btw, is it normal that u use the f2l on the 1st 3 columns? and the last one will be the normal way? cause everytime i use the f2l on the last column, the others gets messed up?

  • @bokee21 Thanks for that. And no, you should be able to do all four. If you mess up slots on your fourth one, you have to be more careful with how you "hide" pieces. Never hide a piece with a move that raises a finished pair into the top layer. There is always a way to avoid this.

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight ok. again thanks. :) i've been slower with this method but i'm sure i would be faster than before, i just need more practice. i can solve the cube with dan brown's method with only 40-50 secs.

  • @bokee21 hehe, i used to do the same thing you do a few days ago, but i fixed it myself intuitively, you just have to do what he said below. With the fourth pair, you use the last empty slot to make it right. Its not that hard

  • what if u cant find and endge that matches???

  • what if you don't have an edge piece in the top layer. what do you do if the edge piece is flipped it the middle layer?

  • OK so i've had about 30 minutes to practice this and I get a 2 minute 10 second solve by using this method... doing it the noob method by doing 1 corner at a time, then filling in edges, i get 1 minute 20 second solve... I think this'll help my speed alot when i get it down completely xD

  • very useful tutorial, helped me ALOT. I'm not able to do it QUICKLY yet... but I understand how I just need to work on recognizing the different situations faster xD

  • What algorhithm are you using to place corners on the first layer? I use R1 D1 R D,but it seems it doesn't work

  • @ruruio The point of the video is not to place the corners in the first layer. It is to solve both layers simultaneously.

  • I know. I just don't know how to place the corner and the edge after I pair them

  • What kind of Cube do you use? I want to get a better one but im not sure what i should get. Any suggestions?

  • OMG He sounds just like The Mummy actor Brendan Fraser!!!

  • how come your edges never come in flipped! mine LAWAYS do. answer bakc plz

  • this video was featured on a jessica fridrich search video haha sweet

  • Thank! Your tutorials are just THE BEST!

I thought F2L was much harder, but when i saw your vid, it looks so simple XD

  • Awesome Tutorial Thanks! I've had alot of trouble with this because everyone else can't explain it where I understand it. This helped alot and once again thanks

  • Thank you, I looked into this yesterday in order to speed up my solve time but got confused, your video was very helpful and I understand now, just need to practise, thanks again :)

  • Nice tutorial! You've just got a new subscriber (guess who? yours truly)

but at 2:52 i would do d' F' U2 F to separate the cubies and set it up in a basic case that can be solved in 3 moves.

  • Man I can do F2l beginner that is so easy but advanced F2l is soo hard for me.

  • @manandblack2 don't worry you'll get it.

  • there is six things you need to get to it:

    *Learn beginner F2L

*Practice a lot until you get it all

    *Learn intermediate F2L

*Practice a lot until you get it all

    *Learn advance F2l

    * Practice and practice until you beat YU Nakayima, Dan Harris, Erik Akkerdisk

  • @chechelaley

Yep. Dont forget about making the cross better and OLL and PLL (and maybe ZBF2L and COLL) :)

  • hey there, i have a question.. Can u use this method to solve all 4 corners? Coz when I try it some solved corners are gettin ruined.. But I'd really like to improve my F2L coz it sucks, and this is definitely the best method ive seen so far and Im eager to master it.. Please reply.. thanks.. Awesome video BTW..

  • aboot

    hehe canadians be funny

  • i use petrus for my F2L, but even so this practically curs my F2L time in half. OK, maybe its like 75% of the speed it was, but now im sub minute at LAST

  • @mynameisdarthtater check out captiancrash44 on youtube, he uses petrus and averages about 13 seconds.

  • the best f2l video ever

  • thank you thank you THANK YOU! this has been the most awesome video ever! thank you.

  • dude this is better than the other jessica fridrich method videos im from the philippines im 13 yrs old im watching some F2L vid because i need faster method that i will use to in the competition THANK YOU for the vid GG NAME : ^StaR^.Jelo

  • yea. agreed with thechadsutton.this is the best f2l vid i have seen. nice work

  • Thank you.

  • @jffryalford i also agree. it is so easy to understand! :)

  • MrRubix (he held the world record for some time) told me that F2L isn't intuitive and some of the algorithms just need to be memorized. So 3 intuitive cases that won't always work isn't better than memorizing 41 very similar algorithms. All of the fastest cubers have the algorithms memorized.

  • Jesus Christ. I didn't say 3 cases is better. I said 3 cases is EASIER. Try to keep up, would you? This tutorial isn't intended for world record holders.

  • @rushyrulz everything you said there is crap... i m reaching now times of less than 20 seconds and dont know any f2l algorythms...

also most of the fast cubers are using intuitive f2l...

  • @rushyrulz

thats not true. Feliks, a major cuber thats 14 years old, does F2L intuitively. Sure, he knows some F2L algs, but when you do it intuitively, you UNDERSTAND what your doing, not just memorizing moves

  • or you can memorize the algorithms..

  • @rushyrulz

    3 is easier than 41.

  • Congratulations class friend. Very good!

What is the name of the screen saver is on the screen in the background.

    Robinson

    Brazil - Sao Paulo

  • dude. ur crazy fast!!!

  • some good tips, thanks!

  • just tell me. Why the vid is so good?

  • I'm a fast level beginner I'd say (2min 15 sec avg). What I'm not getting is what do u do if your pair is next to each other but the colors aren't matched properly? And also what do u do if the edge that matches your corner is already on a second level edge? If you could reply back to help that'd be great. Also check my cube video. Bharrisn

  • Try watching the video again. You're not going to get it on one run through.

  • Lol wtf at 2:18 ? Lol

  • Great tutorial on a slightly confusing topic. :)

I've had my cube for 1 and a half weeks and with the beginner layer-by-layer method I am getting average times of 1:30. I have bookmarked your intermediale f1l, oll and pll tutorials and I am hoping to get times down to under a minute.

    Thanks again Lance! =)

  • tnx a lot

  • thx a lot, all the other tuorials on youtube are crap, but this one really helped me. thanx :D

  • ive been doing beginner method for 3 years now (45 sec ish average) and this is the best tutorial for fridirich i no. i get it now, and well practice. haha. thanks!

  • Is a 19 sec record good for the layer by layer(beginner's) solve? Only way I've known how to solve it =\

  • 19 sec? thats prolly gotta be a world record for layer by layer lol no joke im really good at it and my record is 1:21

  • you sound like dane cook

  • good job man!

  • eh. your 2 look oll and pll were alot better. i appreciate what you do though man

  • your tutorial is amazing... i have scan tru many tutorial and i can safely say your's is the BEST! BTW, go luck in med school

  • Thank you, I appreciate that. :)

  • Comment removed

  • kinda a huge jackass

  • ive been doing this f2l and im not getting faster its about the same....

  • this is the only f2l tutorial i underderstand, thanks alot

  • do you have algorythmes for these exact same things so it can be more automatic for me to do it so i dont have to think about it so much?

  • google f2l algorithms.

  • Well this is odd. The Fridrich system tests you in different methods. It tests your memory in one section, algorithms and such, and in this one, F2L isn't algorithms, but Logic. Seeing what fits where, and how.

  • algorithms for f2l are availible, and even for cross

  • Lol nice screen saver haha

  • yo man u got any tips on how to do it faster.....without learning any algorithms....coz fuck dat shit.

  • If you don't like learning algs, you should find a new hobby. I know over one hundred, and I'm still not fast.

  • well actually i like learning new algs. they work like magic man!! anyway i was jus wondering if u had any tips on doin f2l intuitively more faster......or sumthin...0.o

  • i think that was a train a 6:27

  • 6:27 creapy sound 0.o

  • first f2l video i actually get.....tanx =)

  • fucking 2ns situation confuses me -.-

  • About this F2L, isn't there times where it's different? Like on the third case, if the white is facing left then the edge needs to be away from you and when the white is facing you, the edge needs to be on the right side. I can't explain it well.

How long does this take to exactly "master" or getting use to? I picked up on beginner's method relatively fast, but this is taking a while (been doing it for a little while).

  • Wow, finally, something that will help me improve without memorizing a bunch of shit, which I'm not ready to do.

    You're awesome.

  • there is no need for special algorithms in 2fl its just doing some stuff getting to know how your cube work and whola thats how i learned it tho i learned from one tip from him yes he's awesome =)

  • i'm so not getting it

    i hear the guy

    i see what he does

but i just don't get it

    xD

  • thank so much Lance!!!

    i memorized instantly

i know ill improve now THANKS!!!

  • wtf happened at 1:15

  • in comment, he write about an earlier tutorial there is too long. maybe he cut it down for make sure it not break the limit.

  • thank you so much!

  • great tutorial man. the only one i cant figure out is the last situation. you should find a better way to put it into words or something.

  • yay this method is easier to learn thanks to your nice tutorial =D

  • Comment removed

  • Dude, if u fkn wanna kill yourself, do it don't give negative points because Lance is good at teaching and you realize that you actually suck. So keep it to yourself.

  • I dident give negative points idk how that happened and i ment f2l in genneral

    kid

  • this helped me alot

  • hehe aboht.

    i love the canadian accent.

  • Absolutely fantastic. Simple, well-organized. The only qualm I have is that there's no way for me to skip around to the different cases. 5/5 still for reteaching me the F2L :D

  • Great vid... except from the part that on #3 I cant get the colour to flip :/

  • thanks dude..it seems confusing at first but if you replay it a couple times....you did good kid

  • gr8 video mate... cheers...

  • this is the only f2l method video that i actually understand! thank you! and also, what is more important? learning f2l or learning oll and pll?

  • F2L is always the most important thing to work on.

  • i agree however learning 1 look oll and pll really cuts your times down. But f2l is also the most important. If your going to be a speed solver practice all of it

  • THANK man! this is like the only f2l video i under stand, yu did a good good! i think i got it down pretty good now!!

  • this is gay the fridich method is bullshit if u can do this ur a fucking nerdass piece of shit this is fucking impossible

  • Nah, I think you're probably just an imbecile.

  • Yes, MyRoflCopt3r... Please be constructive. Great work Lance, so far best F2L fridrich vid I have seen.

  • you ignorant fuck...

  • you are 2

  • Thx man this was the only tutorial I understood ! Great video !

  • dude!!! great video i was looking at me myself and pis tutorial and his was horrible and i kept looking and i found yours and it is great!

  • I linked to your video in my firdrich tutorial,

  • It seems for me as if F2L is holding me back, what is taking the most time. Thanks to this video, I am getting much faster much quicker. Thank you for this.

  • u suck i cant learn anything from you. u dont explain anything! u fuckin piece of shit

  • never mind. i just learned how to do it. srry about the insults, i was mad. i am only 13 (teenage years, what can i do?)

    thanx for the vid.

  • i was the same way... FUCK THIS... kidding... lance your awesome... and im still 13... im still pissed

  • When the colors on top are the same, how do you know whether to hide the corner with R' or F? Only one will work and it's different sometimes.

    Great video!

  • you have to hide it so that there is an emty spot in the top layer
