Your voice is probably not a traditional singing voice but neither was Lois Armstrong or Bob Seager. There is something to be said about a voice with character. Try a bit of voice training and see what you can do with what you've got.
I think your speaking voice is cool and I think your voice would most likely lend itself to a spoken word poem with some of your background music to add to it.
Thanks. It has improved a bit since I started on youtube. A year ago commenters were complaining that my voice was as painful to listen to as fingernails scraping a chalkboard. I have since invested in a better microphone and practiced.
@zarkoff45 Well...part of me wants to say you never needed to improve your voice but you seem to be of the mindset that it was an improvement so I can't argue with that:-)
Before I found you on youtube I use to post lots of music videos here (see the underbar for links) some of which were written by me or partly so. However, in the last year or more I just got to busy with other things to focus on the music.
I would have given this a thumbs up but my tortured eardrums wouldn't allow for it.
Just kidding... it was rather emotional. And if you've ever seen the fantastic 80's flick The Lost Boys, there's something in your song that brought about the same emotional response that I got from some of the score of that movie. Not sure what it is though.
@zarkoff45 - That's flippin amazing. That's it! do you feel the similarity? Were you perhaps inspired by that soundtrack? I honestly haven't seen that movie in... 10 years or so. Being that it's getting close to Halloween, I think you've just inspired me to see if it's on netflix or something.

heh, it actually has this Killer Klowns from Outerspace vibe to it. Don't know if you even have heard of that movie before.
Parts of the movie had these same types of chimes.

Hey, I didn't know you also wrote music. It went very well with the forlorn images you showed and I enjoyed it. Quite artistic. :)

@thereprieve "do you feel the similarity?"
Yes. However, the actual notes and harmonies I got from a Maurice Ravel piano MIDI.
"Were you perhaps inspired by that soundtrack?"
Not consciously. I had seen the movie and I didn't remember that score till you brought it up.
