  • i love how he looks back on his marriage as "one big laugh."

i think that's beautiful. you're a great storyteller, and your life is fascinating, especially to a younger generation who lived in a much different time.

  • Great video

  • mmm let me think. who is the morbid git; the friendly old man, or the daft loser who goes round trying to bully nice old men? I wonder.....

  • Did I aim the comment at you? No, so get of Youtube, stop leaving ridiculous comments, and get a life.

  • Mmmm. So people that can spell properly and aren't just total arses are what they're calling "dum" these days?

  • No, not your version.

    You pathetic gangster-wannabe.

  • the whole marriage was one big laugh... that's sweet :)

  • "The quality of the water was so good, it was like drinking wine" ... I'll send you a video concerning that; maybe I found out why this was so.

Oh, and thanks for introducing me to Ray Lamontagne and hos song TROUBLE ... Nice song! You really teach a younger guy a thing or two :-)!

  • I hope that when I'm an old man I can be as interesting, courteous and charming as geriatric1927.

  • too many small minds

  • Fascinating story!

  • if i only we could sit on that mans knee whilst he regailes us with his adventures!

  • Ray LaMontagne is great, so r u!

  • It is commendable to take someone with less than pefect attributes and give them a loving home

  • Love your videos and you have a very catchy way of saying "Good Evening You Tubers!!!"

You are a Cool young man!!! ;)

  • making a rude comment to a respected man makes you feel better?

  • Probably...

  • And I, sir, am very proud of you. It's as though you were my very own Grandfather.

  • IT IS ADDICTIVE RIGHT?! I can't get enough of Peter telling his story, I just don't know why, But I'm going to watch them all today.

  • Sir, you are that very very wise man I was told about . You have a great story to tell, you are doing a wonderful job telling it. Keep spreading your wisdom!!

  • In today's society we forget to listen to our grandparents who have experienced history and have their own personal insight about the world and watching these videos makes me realize and appreciate that even more. Thanks Peter.

  • loved the pop song interruption! lol. Sorry to hear about the liver problem.

  • Way to be a racist...

  • that guy who said hes horible needs to be ip blocked from youtube or someone spike his computer till it meltsdown?

  • there is a much higher percentage of people in our modern british society who either have no grandparents or keep in contact with them only at christmas and birthdays. this unfortunate fact indicates that many more people will be stereotyping eldery people with the ideology seen in the media.... sir , you are a standing icon that nothing has changed and elderly people have never stopped being fun, knowledgable and entertaining

  • Well said.

  • it's quite an amazing story.

  • Dude, you're story is amazing so far! Thanks

  • Peter, you are a ledgend!

  • amazing part 4..im learning so much about patience, effort and pure acceptance of life that makes me feel miserable

    ~Have a Nice Day

  • Another great video by you sir. I love them and cant wait to watch the next one.

  • awesome peter keep posting.

  • Danster, shut up. You are what's wrong with the world today, no respect for elders. Mexicans are no different than whites, blacks, indians, asians, etc. We're all people. And you happen to be a very rude person.

  • Im Jack, and i like your voice

  • wow peter you made it to the TV now.the new'S are talking about you in montreal soon u get in TALK SHOW LOL ;D

OR even beter maybe you get your on show of story telling. :p

  • Thank you once again for sharing your life with us Peter!

  • Did you do all these videos in one day? I hope you do many more, these are brilliant.

  • I'm gonna EMail the Owner of YouTube and see if we can get him a "Director's Account". YouTube owes him, you know what I'm sayin'? Peter brought them revenue and notoriety, now it's time for bloody YouTube to return the favor

  • Peter, your story's are so interesting that even my 65 year old husband now listens!

Loved hearing about your foster son. Please introduce us to him when he comes for a visit?

  • Hey many thanks for the videos!

Reminds me of my step-grandad (in Hospital at the mo!).

    :)

  • I admire you mister :)

  • you rock sunshine..more people should take the time to tell thear story..i dont no how to make a vid and im 26. look forward to you're next. PEACE

  • When you say that you enjoyed watching your wife blossom into a mother, it is simply the most beautiful thing I have ever heard! You are clearly a romantic...;)

  • I believe that a life isn't complete without laughter. I'm glad the years you spent with your wife were full of laughs.

  • Tugs at heart strings

  • I'm afraid GERIATRIC1927xCOxUK is taking advantage of you geriatric... people, beware, the web site seems to be riding on our geriatric1927's good name and reputation, to make money from ad revenues. I hope this is not someone taking advantage.

  • Notice that Geriatric1927xCOxUK hasn't been posting here anymore LOL

  • Everyone needs to get on at this freeloading low-life scumball and sort it out. He is so much a failure in his own life he sets up a cheapo site selling crap T shirts with peters name on! Needs to be stopped!

  • Work, long hours,a lot of stress, and you end that sentence with saying that it went quite well. Bless your cheerful outlook. Not all of us have the luxury of taking a walk down the road with grandparents, your words so vivid and still so full of life. I appreciate your efforts, and it is obvious that it was you that helped that boys communication skills, from your own ability and desire to communicate. Job well done!

  • Sir, I commend you on your life so far

  • Excellent.

  • It is official, you are The Internet's Grandfather that it never had. You Should be proud! :)

    -drivec

  • Same here..lol..i hope i have a marriage as happy and as long as yours...can i adopt you?..lol

  • thanks for sharing, Peter! "Fostering" (is that the British term for adoption?) a boy with physical challenges and bringing him up as "a credit to himself" was wonderful.

I'm a big fan of yours now! :-)

  • Fostering is like a tempory adoption, maybe for a few weeks or even years but not full adoption.

  • It is great to listen to you, thank you for sharing your history.

  • What can I add that hasn't been already said? Just once again, thanks for sharing it with us.

  • i love you <3

It´s sad however to hear about the death of your wife, I feel very sorry for that. But I guess life goes on. So I will just send some greetings from germany to you!

  • Hi Peter, I read about you on youtube in a Hong Kong daily and immediately logged on. You got such a soothing voice and your story telling is awesome. Keep it up!

  • :p love it.. never thought id be so intrested in hearing these storys, but i cant get enough, more i demand it more more :D. Oh, and you should do an episode with the boy you adopted when he visits (sorry, forgot his name). :) would be intresting im sure.

  • It took me several vid watches to understand why someone's dry retelling of their very personal history might be so enticing, but I finally got it. My grandma is gone, my elders within my family are gone, and a real person speaking to me about real things that concerned and sparked my elders. So joyous and then suddenly Ray LaMontagne, who is from my state of Maine and indeed makes killer songs, and suddenly I wish I could chuck this computer to the side and be right there in the room.

  • I must say, Peter, that despite all the media attention you've been getting, the surest sign of your success is that spammers and flamers are hounding your videos. They want attention, so they come to the focus of attention - your videos.

By the way, from one blues lover to another, you have great taste in music.

  • That was directed at uddercrap btw. I'm enjoying these video blogs personally. ;)
