  • Can someone please explain to me why they shoot the bricks if they already have the bullet in the first place?

    It's the only bit in the Dark Knight I don't understand

  • He shot the bullet in order to see exactly how it would break when entering the brick, under the same conditions as the original bullet. By analysing the way the experiment bullet fragmented, and putting it back together, he was able to reconstruct the original, which had shattered. Thus, having the bullet in one piece, he could get a print off it. Of course, there was no reason for a print to be on it in the first place, but that's beside the point.
