  • Ramirez! Get Ramirez!!

  • best mission in this game

  • Jeez... Hans Zimmer is a fucking genius

  • whats the soundtrack that plays at 0:00 - 3:00?

  • @Trixter457 The name of the song is Intropeak.

  • Thumbs up if you live in DC

  • i remember first time i played this mission cuz the day before i was actually in washington so wen i played this i just stood there starrin at the monument and the battle just like o_o

  • This mission is just like a new world war....Maybe its world war 3 :D

  • The emotional song makes me wanna cry

  • @ProudDu fag around here and it's not me...

  • @Huberpala Dude just dont reply to my comment if you haven't got anything better to say

  • @Huberpala I know right, what kind of queer has feelings? You're fucking stupid.

  • @samiam1995 lol wtf are u doing here?

  • @Huberpala I dont really see what that has to do with the fact that you ridicule men who are not emotionally repressed, but if you must know I want to read the comments here, I wanted to know what other people thought or how they reacted to seeing Washington D.C. torn apart by warfare.

  • @samiam1995 eeeehhh.... i don't care about D.C...

  • @ProudDu The worst part is we won't have songs like this in MW3 because Hans Zimmerman isn't composing...

  • modern warfare 2 graphics are actually better than 3s seriously watch 3s trailer and then watch this you will see what i mean.

  • recruit.... =.=

  • Ramirez Take Out This!!!

    Ramirez Take out That!!!

Why don't he Take it out for himself!!!??

  • Does anyone else get a familiar vibe from the start of this mission in the tunnels to the terminator movie in the future tunnels

  • This moment is so beautiful. . . so deep. . . I have cried with it and I still crying, seriusly. Modern Warfare isn't a videogame, it's a f***ing masterpiece of art :)

  • ramirez, cover hans zimmer while he's composing the music for Modern warfare 3, while me and dunn get to eat at burger town

  • most amazing mission in my opinion

  • When I first played this mission I wasn't sure whereabouts it was set in (cause of it being so wartorn and barely recognisable), but as soon as I saw the capitol building and washingon monument I was like, "Holy shit, is this place what I think it is? You gotta be kidding me O.O"

  • Comment removed

  • I live in Prince George's County (in southern Maryland by DC) and I shit my pants when I read the Emergency Broadcast System.

  • @CounsilHan Shit man, I live in Baltimore and when I saw PG county, my own reaction was

"the fuck?" Then I made sure I didn't hit the input button on the tv somehow.

  • in dc right now!

  • The multiplayer was a clusterfuck of chaos and the campaign made no sense as a whole but these couple missions in D.C. was some epic shit.

  • Ramirez! Go fix the capitol building!!!

  • @bamarine247 no RAMIREZ! GO FIX THE CAPITOL BUILDING WITH THIS HAMMER AND THIS ONE NAIL!

  • anyone else just go holyshit the first time they played this mission

  • Dude stop reloading wen u dont hav to!

1)u lose more ammo that way

2)(and this happens a helluva lot to u) make sure there r no more enemies in the area utherwise they will kill u while u r spending too much time fuckin reloading ur gun wen it's not empty

If u do Black Ops gameplay vids do 2)

  • Why don't you try it on Veteran difficulty instead? In sets in the realistic mood. I beat it on my first try.

  • Best intro and beginning to a level ever. I love it! thx for not skipping the intro or rushing through everything :)

  • Now everytime I hear the Emergency Broadcast System noise I get paranoid and think we've been invaded and D.C. is on fire.

  • this level never gets old as simple as that

  • Steven Seagal did porn in the 80s

  • "Recruit"? Don't you have any dignity? ^^

  • once i got out i said "holy shit"

  • @sabbath55767 Well, yeah, you kinda have to. It's the law. And it's called the Selective Service.

  • @sabbath55767 Because fighting your nation's enemies is somehow more noble if he's in your own backyard when you do it?

  • what number mission is that

  • I don't know what's worse: the setting of DC here or in Fallout 3.

And you should have switched your M9 for the M14EBR or the M16A4 Red Dot.

  • So sad when u see soldiers you dont even know get shot or blown up, u want to stop to help, but u cant

  • God, the music is grabbing me at the heart ! The moment you see the Washington Monument, and the music rises up, you feel like crying in rage.

And I'm not even American. Hans made a good ambiance work. If it was the Benny Hill ending music, I'd feel very different...

  • @T4R0K

Hahaha... me neither. Im from South America, and the music just does a great work.

  • If my computer could run this game at better settings, what I would do is turn off the subtitles, put the game on easy, and play it through like it was real life and record it all in one continuous run to make a sorta "movie" of the story.

No dying. Following each script point to the key. Making sure scenes like the beginning of this level are done slowly enough to take it all in.

  • Now i'm going to join the Marines.

  • I'm not American, so I dont feel as emotionally mixed as many US players have when they first play this level. But I can understand that seeing your capital aflame and your monument half destroyed is a very powerful experience.

If this had been set in London, and it had been Big Ben or the London Eye in ruins, and if I had to fight through the Houses of Parliment, then I imagine I would feel the same way as the US players.

One of the best levels of a campaign ever made, btw.

  • @Trentest0 The London Eye, is that the great big ferris wheel along the Thames?

  • You know...if shit like this happened in real life it would 9/11 and Pearl Harbor seem like just regular crimes. THIS would change the US (Not to mention the World) Forever.

  • @EternalPhoenix2183

It wouldn't change the world... a lot of people and nations hate the USA. I imagine many foreign people would say 'That's what you get when you try to control the world...'

  • @Trentest0 I'd make a mental list of all the nations who said such things and make sure we exacted terrible revenge upon them at a convenient date.

  • Modern Warfare 2 and Hans Zimmer best mix since Chocolate and Peanut butter,Saturday and Sunday, etc.

  • the story of the game is so amazing i love it this mission is so amazing the beggining of the mission is awesome

  • its like Duke Nukem!

  • Man, that view of the Washington Monument still gives me the chills.

  • @n00berania me too i love how they made the Map

  • i live near prince county and when i was playing this part of the misson, the waring scared me shitless because i thought it was a real warning xP

  • the music and the destruction just made me think... fuck you russia. if im on the battlefield... you are going down!

    no offence:)

  • The last time Washington D.C. was left in flames will soon be 200 years ago during the War of 1812...

And in this modern generation, we get to experience through a videogame what that feeling might be like if a war were to happen someday where our nation's beautiful capitol is laid to waste once again by a foreign power invading us....

  • i wish the marines were in here too that would be awesome both branches fighting together

  • Nice walkthrough, but you spelled "of" wrong.

  • Ramirez!Go fk my mom!

    Ramirez!Kamikaze Urself!

    Ramirez!eat bullets noob!

  • @3wire18 Ramirez! take down that AC-130 with this throwing knife!!

  • reminds me of fallout 3 only this has better detail color and gameplay. the thing about fallout 3 is d.c. is a hell hole.

  • The intro is intense, yet scary.

  • and theres 2 intels in this mission in my last comment i forgot to post it its right next to the rocket launcher at 5:43 its in this one closet type thing where i think a person sticks the gun out and trys to shoot...

  • this is my favorite mission because your an army ranger and your on american soil and you missed an intel in the elevator that wont close cuz of the dead army ranger in the door way right as soon as u walk next to them u can kinda see it... take your time in all levels inspect every house to get intel if needed

  • Most depressing level I ever played

  • at 1:51 is sad and dramatic when you see the washiontion monument

  • @thenoobfactor yeah you kick that tea drinkers ass back to his queens palace. But your right. Our government does take more care of our troops than any other country does with theirs. We also have the best logistics system. AND we have as an example, F22 Raptor Fighter jet and the B2 stealth bomber which are the best planes in the world. (made in USA). Respects to Canada from USA!

  • I love the very beginning of this Level; just starting out in such a dark, barely lit bunker, wondering where the heck you are.

Then you go outside and see a dark, orange sky and suddenly find yourself facing a half-wrecked Washington Monument and all the noise just hits you; tank fire, gunfire, RPG fire, yelling, explosions, jets and choppers, etc. The BGM helps a lot too.

  • the first time i herd of this mission i thought you would drive a Honda

  • Man i love the sound of the rangers from the RADIO! :D

  • yeh they brang Allens body in a morgue and saw he is a american and in the beginning i always look backwards becaseu i think the whitehouse in ruins is more dramatic for a videogame like this. when the classical music goes heavy i turn around showing thw whitehouse

  • why do they invade again???????

  • @nuggetsfan001 remember mission 'No Russian' Makarov has seen a spy among him and kill him in that mission, and lastly he said was true..'When They Find That Body,All Russia Will Cry For War'...and boom this is the result...WAR!

  • no air support? didn't we just saw AH-64?

  • ze end of ze world

  • USA = Effectivity/Technology most of the time there always a war

Russia = Resources (largest country = more oil) but soldiers are too small :P

China = Mass and Size but their technology is shit :) airforce sucks xD

  • @thetrialshot

Not enuf cons for the USA i see? allow me:

    1) Civilians (enemy aware of american gun culture and will just kill all US civilians believing they will mostly likely be armed and a threat)

    2) Never in the 20th century been close or bordered to a waring nation (save little Cuba)

    3) Never in the 20th century faught a brutal and .prolonged. war on their own soil (russia and china have)

    4) Reknowned friendly fire of the US army

    5) Reknowned general arrogance and over confidence

  • @ElectricEdgewave192, The heavy friendly fire happened in wars in which the US army was Too effective and ground elements advanced faster than expected. Overconfidence is a myth, during the 1991 Gulf war US forces treated the Iraqis as a real threat throughout the whole thing. Even after it became clear that the Iraqis could offer no real resistance. And dont argue military experience, the americans have fought more wars in the 20th century than anyone else, only Isreal lands anywhere near them.

  • @thenoobfactor and whats so proud of fighting more wars than any other country in the 20th century? it just proves that you are warmongering, imperialist or start too many in the first place

I suppose u think the Nazi's and Imperial Japanese desevere respect for having started the most deadly conflict in human history? world war II? cause i certainly dont respect them for that, even if it does mean it gave them great 'military experience'

  • @ElectricEdgewave192, I explained that they FOUGHT many wars to disprove your baseless opinon on the americans lack of experience, when they clearly have it in the greatest amount. Few of the wars they fought were started by them. If the americans are the evil empire you believe how come iraq isnt the newest american state? Instead of assimilating they sacrificed soldiers and money to set up a democratic government. And dont suggest that afganistan is for oil. It has almost no oil to speak of.

  • @thenoobfactor US has experience fighting little or poor nations, when have they ever faught against an army larger or stronger than theirs? never, only ever faced smaller ones

Britain faught alone against the Nazis in the Battle of Britain, Finland against the Soviets in the Winter War, Israel against the arab countries, these are countries that can, have and would face larger armies and deserve respect

What democracy? it must develop naturally, forcing it causes more harm than good

  • @ElectricEdgewave192. The reason the US has never fought someone with equal power is because there IS nobody with a military that rivals theirs, they have more carriers than the rest of the world, The second largest amount of tanks, the largest amount of armoured vehicles, the highest vehicle to troop ratio, the largest airforce, the largest navy, the second largest nuclear stockpile and the highest budget. While Russias military has most of its tanks, planes and ships rusting away.

  • @thenoobfactor well then the US aint ever gonna get true respect, america built up an army the size of which is overbloated and unnecessary and until they face and equal or superior force they are not going to be respected

tiny finland held off against the soviets 10 times longer than expected during the winter war, even if they lost they prevented the 5 times larger soviet army from advancing far into their land, their international repuation sky rocketed after that, now THEY deserve respect

  • @ElectricEdgewave192, Finland was defently increadibly heroic during ww2, But they were facing an enemy with poorly trained soldiers with low morale, Poor equipment and awful logistics. The Americans have numbers comparible to china or russia, with quality similar to western Europe or Canada. That is all supported by some of the best logistical systems ever created.

  • @thenoobfactor that still doesnt earn them respect, and dont tell me a Brit to respect the US military with their frequent friendly fire incidients against british soldiers in the middle east cause that's really pissing me off, the Americans are supposed to be the allies of the Brits but they are killing them at the same rate the taliban are and the US government are even making it VERY hard to launch enquiries against soldiers killing Brits, give me a reason to respect the US military now?

  • @ElectricEdgewave192, Remember my older comments, I simply want to prove the russians would never be able to conquer and occupy the US. And the US occupying russia would be outrages as well. Im not asking you to respect thier ethics, just their immense firepower. And most american soldiers i have spoken with respect the brits for their skill. And if another country provided the bulk of troops and fire support assets in afganistan instead of america then they would cause the most FF incidents.

  • @thenoobfactor wotevs, i respect skill not strength so i dont respect american firepower especially after the number of dead british in the middle east at the hands of US firepower. dont know if your aware but American soldiers are reknowned abroad for friendly fire, so dont just brush it off cause british lives may mean nothing to u but they mean something to me. No one here apologises for it, they jus say 'it just happens', well cancer 'just happens' but that doesnt make it fair or right

  • @ElectricEdgewave192, Furhtermore, I'm sick and tired of people calling the yankees arrogent, then proceed to talk about how inferior the Americans are, they are simply showing themselves to be the arrogent ones.

PS: I'm not American, and disagree with much of their policy, I just believe they deserve far more respect when it comes to military prowess.

  • @thenoobfactor their military doesnt desever respect, they're only successful and popular military victory was world war II and that was several decades ago, so what have they got to be proud of?

Vietnam, where they lost to a third world communist state? Cuba, where they backed up the oppressive batista regime? the School of the Americas where they taught militants how to torture? Iraq & Afghanistan, where it was all for the oil?

theyre too powerful and i dont want an american hegemony

  • @ElectricEdgewave192 Also, if you dont agree with their causes (though you seem to make no mention of centuries of british imperialism) You can at least show respect to their firepower. The US military could wipe your little island off the map without breathing heavy.

  • @thenoobfactor oh right so im supposed to respect a country that can and would be able to wipe out my tiny little nation (that once ruled a quarter of the world, more than the US ever has)? No i dont think so, i dont respect a power that has that level of power and frequently abuses it. Not that America would even dare invade another power in the world, they'd be pissing themselves if they went up against Russia, China or the EU

  • @ElectricEdgewave192, also, you complain about the Americans "Imperialism" while bragging about britans empire that it had 200 years ago that it "valiantly" conqured from africans with spears and rocks. And why would the russians, EU or the Chinese be able to do? Most of Russias equipment outdated and rusting away. Most of chinas military represents the very best of 1970s technology and EU is an economic alliance, It could not orginise militarily any time soon.

  • @thenoobfactor you right, britain was awful back then and I shouldnt be bragging about it, but at the same time you keep bragging about USA's superiority and most the world is fed up with hearing american berks like u saying reminding them how powerful u r

Tell me if the Russians and Chinese r outdated then y haven't the American's gone and dealt with em? obviously they got somethin 2 fear, as for the EU, its slowly becoming a confederate nation so it will have a unified military someday

  • @ElectricEdgewave192, They havnt attacked because they have no reason to. That would be like england nuking france, it has no real purpose. Also, both china and the US depend on each other to keep their economys afloat, and the only trouble russia is being is with arctic soverengty, which is more a factor to my country (Canada) than the United states.

  • @thenoobfactor except iran XD XD

  • Ha you know what will happen if russia evades america it would be of our own accord.Hey i decoded the prophecy

  • i live near their, they got it pretty good. so accurate i sometimes pretend i was him.

  • hey guys remember this, pray that obama doesnt fk up if he does this will happen!

  • @alexa9900960 in that year, Obama term is almost finished

  • Yea just imagin you wake to loud sounds outside ur apartment in DC and you look outside and see all of washington DC burning due to a russian invasion.

  • the music is fantasic

  • I think I know why the Russians are always the terrorists in CoD 4 and MW2. Its because the Americans think that the Russians might invade USA in a few years.

  • my guess is that its gonna be the chinese.

  • @wist0301 china has a crappy navy, and they cant swim that far.

  • @MrResidentevil5 The Russians invading the United States aren't terrorists. They are under the Russian federal government.

  • @MrResidentevil5 you wrong, watch mission 'No Russian',Makarov did this terrorist so he can bring a war between Russians and Americans,he did say this...'The American Thought He Could Deceived Us,But When They Find That Body,All Of Russia Will Cry For War"...and he did it,and i gotta tell ya,he's a smartass bastard!

  • @samy3310 thats wot im thinkin

  • why always in video games and in holly wood movies

    the terrorist is always Russian??????????

  • private allen is killed by makarov...

  • This Map should be online

  • yeah

  • @MacbookFan10 this map is highrise

  • @frostlite13 no...no its not

  • @frostlite13 no, highrise was in NYC, for an undisclosed reason. It is illegal to construct a building in DC so high you can't see the ground.

  • Love how it builds up at the beginning. At first, you have no idea where you are, but when you look outside and see the Washington Monument, you just think "......Holy shit..."

  • yeah that part is great

  • @rpgzilla Haha agree

  • what happened to private allen?

  • @alexrocksguitarhero Did you actually play the game? If you did you should know.

  • @alexrocksguitarhero lol he followed Makarov to his grave

  • Private allen died in Call of Duty Modern Warfare.Let me gues you're thinking how he died.He died by a nuclear explosion that killed Al-Sad too.I wish he was in Modern Warfare 2.Sigh...

  • maybe the one who are you talking about is Paul Jackson

  • no makarov killed him

  • @alexrocksguitarhero he was tricked by mackarov at the airport and he was killed

  • when the EAS system was playing at the beginning i turned it up real loud and it scared the shit out of my mom lol

  • dude the guy just wanted to show a walkthrough ! not a skillthrough !

  • I was forewarned of this by a friend but the intro to this level was one of my top 5 epic moments of this game, particularly since I live in Maryland i.e. real close to DC.

BTW is 147 Kirkwood Ave a real place in PG County?

  • dam i love the begining of this mission so EPIC !

  • vector looks gay LMAO

  • 2:10 man FAWK that flash grenade, ruined the epicness of the music! XDDD

  • @jesuislepluscool its not actually a flash grenade, the tank just fired its main gun which if your near it can damage your ears

  • It wasnt a flash bang fella, it was the sound of that Abrams firing! Still epic tho :)

  • Comment removed

  • my sister thought we need to go to evacuation center when his watching with me and playing this game lol

  • This opening reminds me of The RTS World in conflict.

  • i would like play as Russian here, i mean whne the invasion began D:, but this is a amazing mission... ive never get tired of play it over and over

  • Do you play on recruit to walkthrough the levels faster? Because it seems to me like you could complete it on a higher difficulty. Good videos btw.

  • If this happened, I would try to capture a Russian, get a knife, and, well you get the idea.

  • the one i posted earlier was to JW

  • Thank you. You're the first person I've seen to actually bask in the epicness of 1:40 - 2:00. Others just sprint through it.

  • Some of the most effective use of a soundtrack I've seen in a video game right at that point.

  • @Grimmomega I know. The basking is necessary at that part.

  • @Grimmomega because he will not die quickly. He's in recruit

  • as i played this i felt like this was the future

  • does anyone know the song that plays after about 1:45?????? i really would like to know...!!!

  • No idea about the name since there's no officially released MW2 soundtrack but it's composed by Hans Zimmer. You can find the unofficial MW2 OST from torrent sites. Meaning it has the music files ripped from the game.

  • @TheShremco Type in MW2 DC Burning Intropeak on youtube. That is the name.

  • who thinks that Russia would win a war with the U.S.

  • Tell you the truth it would be a serious fight but our forces wouldn't let this happened in rl they would fight to the last man with bayonets if they had to

  • Jwtrucking15, doubt either one could invade the other and win, in no mans land i would place bets on the us, mostly due to the fact that the US has a much larger navy and airforce.

  • I can see this happening, if not by Russia then by one of America's many, many, many enemies

It would be quite ironic considering how America loves entering other countries all blazing guns and hooahing

  • Remember, americans are liberators, not conquerers. I think, thumbs me down if I'm wrong.

  • @LOLNOOBCAKES America is the liberator, but there are times that she will not protect those who need to be protected

  • ur right/ although somtimes the goverment makes us think we are liberating although we r conquering/ like some people belives they attack iraq only for one reson OIL> : 0 yeah OIL! BLOOD OIL! oh yeah our goverment might be the most corrupted goverment, corupted but smart , as they say the truth isnt in textbooks they can write anything on there / obama likes socialism / hes making people have licence to have babys thats just wrong/ the goverment always makes lies never trust them!

  • @LOLNOOBCAKES really? why havent they liberated libya, zimbabwe, burma, cuba, north korea? oh right yea thats right they dont have any oil. Americans are liberators provided the country they liberate has oil they can take. Liberators-when-it-suits-them is more the term to use

  • anyone know the name of the building that you asault in the beginng of the mission ?

  • its called the herbert c. hoover building the one that you fight in at first

  • 1:40

Holy crap. For a moment there, I thought we time traveled back to World War 2.

  • lol

  • you know that could happen if we went to war with Russia..we'd be fucked

  • america FTW you goat herding raghead

  • doubt it
